Thanks for all the content you put out. It's become the closest thing I can think of to a spearfishing bible. Would be worth compiling all these lessons into a book one day!
Yes, you can use a bottle jack but with the harder rubber you need a shaped lead in socket to install. Look at 1:08 to see the steel sleeve for the push that we use. This is the same as what they use in the bottle corking industry.
I don't think it will help much. If you want it quieter, better to use a carbon barrel. If you want to make it quieter to not scare fish, always remember the shock wave moving forward caused by your rubbers when fired is a massive "sound" to fish. No matter how quiet you make the gun you cannot block that shock way. Also remember, foam will add mass to the gun.
Hi Mr.Rob, thanks for answering my request with this video - very usefull. One more thing ¿It's ok to use PVC glue as glue - lubricant?. Thanks again! Regards!
Im looking at reducing one of your 100cm rails to 90cm. From watching this i assume i cant push my original plug deeper into the barrel before cutting it shorter? We have propper hydraulic press at work for bearings that i could use. I was worried about the barrel exploding.. 😂 If not how do i get a new plug in the uk? Thanks Rob
Pushing it further down is no problem, just do it while the handle is off. Once you have cut and set the plug, might be an idea to add a little sealant on top. The plug should not move without it but always better to be sure that water will not force its way past.
Cheers guys! Supose someone messed up the plugging of the barrel and the plug ended up more than half way inside the barrel…which solution would you propose? (Asking for a friend🤣🤣🤣)
To remove means you need a tool to get inside. We use wood boring drills with long extensions on a lathe. Most times it is just easier to leave it there and set another plug in the correct place above it. You will not feel the added weight of the old plug when using the gun but you will be back to having the majority of the buoyancy.
I cut a barrel and use a jack and with some oil the plug in the barrel moved..i did add some silicone just for safty....this plug will work on a bigger dia barrel?
Hi Rob, very relevant for me. I'm trying to install a bung in a cut-down carbon barrel. Both barrel and bung from you guys. But there's no way I can just push the bung into the barrel. It is a pretty hard bung, feels same as the one I took out of the offcut end. Are these different bungs you're making available?
@@nicholascroukamp1463 Ok, you will have to put pressure on your local dealer to get our distributor to bring in some. I have a small parcel leaving in 2 to 3 weeks, if you can wait that long.

This is just what I was looking for. Where can I purchase the bungs ?
They are a new product so will be a while to filter through, depends where you are in the world.

I have never tried to use it in a bigger barrel, obviously the bigger the barrel ID the more likely it will not work.
