    Shot Rob, Useful info.
    For a target I use: 1x Drop weight, 1x 500ml Buddy bottle (float) and 1x 2L Icecream tub lid (miniature Doggy drawn target) and dyneema to connect them all Weight, Target, Float. It rotates so it also helps with my timing for incoming or outgoing fish.

      Shaft stays in the lid so I can see where the shot places XD

    Hi im wondering why you recommend not using a loading butt on the gt carbon timberline rollergun, I cant see a reason why not

    i got a xifias grande 90 which has a reverse trigger which gives it a bit more length, with a 130 cm spear. it has 16.5mm rubbers i would love to keep shooting and loading but it is a pain to load all the time especially as i am 5ft7 in height, so i tend to save my shots. My aim is erratic i think, does it make a difference on the make and model speargun when it comes to accuracy? today was tough work there was a current and i was drifting from my float and the fish seem to be more spooked. when the waters are calm the fish seem to be more calm is that a thing?

      All guns will shoot different to other brands. Some could have a similar feel but will shoot differently pending their set up. Yes, rough water will make it difficult, more so because you as the shooter are moving around a lot more.

    If you remember one thing, don’t put the handle in front of your face to look down the sights. It will kick back and hit you in the face. Like he said, keep a straight arm. Cheers!

    I just started spearfishing, got myself a new speargun, 90cm, but when i move it laterally side to side to track the fish there is so much resistance it is so slow why is that?

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing  2 місяці тому +1

      The resistance of the water. The longer the gun the more this will be the case. It is not a good idea to swing the gun a lot. This will scare the fish. It is much better to keep the gun close, see which way the fish is traveling and push the gun out slowly, aiming in front of the fish. Let the fish swim in front of the gun, don't "chase" swinging the gun wildly. That will scare many fish off. I sometimes use a 160cm gun. You learn quick with such a long gun how to move it. Another "trick" when you need to move the gun, swing the tip one way and move the rear the other, this will pivot the gun easier.

    Hi, thanks for info, could you also show us how to aim with RA roller gun~

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing  10 місяців тому

      How I would aim it is exactly the same. If you are having inaccuracies, it can be a few other factors, such as shooting line tension. With a roller, it is very important to keep the shooting line very tight when setting up.

    Nice info there. Yes, after spearing a fish some left scales might be stuck in the flopper. Especially with the large snappers we have over here. Thanks for sharing RA team! Regards from Panama >

    One thing I’ve wondered if there is a general pattern, where guys miss more high or low, or left or right. It seems if that were the case it would be valuable information, because let’s say a spearo misses more high and low, it seems to me shooting the gun sideways in your hand (like a gangster grip) may produce better results because you are running the more erroneous axis along a larger target; of course fish tend to be longer than high. If you ever talk to good bank pool players in pool they are always talking about “making the pocket bigger”, this would be a similar concept.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing  10 місяців тому +3

      Not a good idea to turn a rail guns on its side. If you do, it is possible for the spear to slip out the rail. this will cause major inaccuracies. Shooting high or low can be barb issues or, tweaking the barb can adjust for that.

    Would it be possible to create an ergonomic shaped handle grip which is just the rubber part of the handle meaning you can unscrew the grip plates and slide the old rubber grip off to replace it with the ergonomic shaped one, with the aim of minimising to roll of the handle in the hand which causes you to shoot left. TLDR can you make an interchangeable ergonomic grip and would this even improve accuracy

      It is one of the many tooling jobs we are busy with, might be available close to this time next year, hopefully earlier.
