In all the movies and comedy shows, they show people trying to make the guards laugh or move or do something and the message they are sending the public is that it´s ok and fun to do. So, if you need to call anyone disrespectful...start with Mr. Bean.
I've been meaning to ask. I hope I'm not morbid sounding but it's completely out of respect for the horses. When one of them passes do they have a special ceremony and special burial place? They are so beautiful and majestic. I'm certain it hurts all those who have relationship with the horses when they tragically pass. It's inevitable I know. But I'm one of those who won't watch the movie if the dog dies. Seriously. I just thought maybe you could find out. I Apologize if you've addressed this before. Thank you❤

Good for you John AND the police officer for reprimanding these rude Spanish teens. It's more understandable when American tourists treat the Horse Guards like Disney World because they don't have a Monarchy with all the traditions. But Spain has a Monarchy and all European countries have a long history/traditions, including formal public events with regalia worn etc. So these disrespectful Spanish kids should have known better. *Seemingly my message hit a nerve today with somebody Spanish-speaking, for my post was deleted. Am so glad you caught these kids on tape. It is so infuriating when you see a younger generation knowingly or unknowingly show their stupidity by disrespecting the horse guard parade. Who goes to a place as this with such Old World beauty surrounding them and not be in awe of it all - immaturity in action
I think it is a real honor to witness the changing of the guards. I am American and I do enjoy the wonderful soldiers doing their job publicly. It's wonderful. Also, they are guarding the King's home. People should remember there is a King. A King of the country. I think the King's line goes back 400 years. That in itself is marvelous.

When you visit an English church, there will be on the wall a list of all the vicars.. from Anglo Saxon names to Norman French names after the conquest, to the break during the English Civil War when religion was required to be very different under Puritan rule in the 17th century.. right up tot he present day. An almost unbroken chain… lovely!

But Spain has a Monarchy, and all European countries have historical traditions with ceremonial aspects where regalia is worn , so these ignorant Spanish kids showing off to each other should have known better. I agree manners cost nothing but I’m afraid even school is just as bad no discipline we grew up with our P’s and Q’s if I was told off at school my parents agreed with the school about punishment like staying behind or even the ruler. We respected the police and our elders. Dinner time was at the table we all had to do our bit. I just find it very sad in today’s society.

Morning John! I saw in another video the trumpeter horse was acting up all the way out of horse guards into the street and then had to come back because of that. Why are so many people rude with no manners are parents not teaching their kids that anymore? I like that officer ive seen him do that before and explain things clearly and firmly. Also you are right,many of the guard have epic staches its great! What the heck was with those dolls? LMAOOO

H.Cav would never put a horse out on public duty that was soiled or had diarrhoea , he went into the stables if it was soiled they would have washed him down and returned him to Hyde Park Barracks to see a vet . Grey horses start out brown or dark coloured and as they age become grey , he's maybe still young and not fully changed colour , or he may stay this way .

John, those police stables are the old back door to the original Scotland Yard. The one before the cops moved to New Scotland Yard, the Norman Shaw redbrick building on the Embankment.

I've seen people who take teddy bears on holiday with them and photograph them at different locations , but two half dressed dolls ? Each to his own I suppose 😊. The lady MOD officer is always on the ball and clearly loves the horses . I'll never tire of seeing the change over especially a Long Guard with the greys , bugler and the Standard . I think those are not markings on the gray. The bottom of his tail was also dirty. I think he was feeling ill.
HCAV would not have let a dirty horse be presented out in public. The dark areas are his original color that will fade over time. He is probably a younger horse. Greys are not born grey. They are born black or bay and fade to grey as they age.

I saw on Abdullah VLOG one of the Trumpeters horse had a meltdown while the blues were out on Parade waiting. The grey was not well.
They aren't socks, John. Majesty has CORONET markings. A sock comes up higher than what is there on the right hind. And on Quarterback, has a SOCK on its left front leg. Notice how much higher it is than on Majesty? That is a SOCK, the other is a CORONET marking, and it has a CORONET on its right hind. They do put detangler and conditioner in the manes and tails of all the horses. That's what makes the forelock look so fluffy. REGIMENTAL STANDARD. It denotes the Regiment. Hey Jennifer, just to clarify, the white has to go over knee to be a stocking, over the ankle to be a sock. If it's below the ankle, it's a coronet, right? Also, 1 quick question if you can just give me quick answer. Why was Lumiere gelded? I didn't want to ask Shae since she's upset re Belle. Lumi is the most beautiful horse I've Ever seen so I thought he would stud.
@lynnell5993 Stocking is to the knee or above. A sock is above the pastern joint, and Lumi was gelded because Shae only has mares and geldings. As a stallion, he wouldn't have been able to be turned out with anyone, except maybe a gelding or two. Which wouldn't have been fair to them, considering they are used to the large herd dynamic. But now that Lumi is gelded, and the safe period is passed, where he can't impregnate any mares, he can now start to be turned out slowly with the rest of the herd. Stallions live a very solitary life, except when servicing mares. That is the only time they see and interact with another horse. Personally, if I was running Free Spirit, I would have done the same thing. It wouldn't have been fair to Lumi to keep him separate from all the other horses. This year, I have 2 stallions coming back, but they've grown up together. So I can turn them out together with no issues. The other horse coming in is a mare. She will be turned out with the herd every day, except when I'm working her, then she'll go back out in the field. She'll be outside a minimum of 17 hours a day, only coming in to be stabled at night, per the owners request. Where the 2 studs will be outside 24/7 unless I'm working them, then and only then will they be inside. Depending on the weather. If it's nice out, we ride outside. If it's a torrential downpour, it's the indoor arena. And in between training these 3, I'm also giving riding lessons and helping with the summer camp weeks that will be happening. That looks like the new regimental colors presented by CIII R. It’s what they carry when King is in residence. Blues didn’t have theirs because when they arrived, King not in residence. When they leave, it will be shrouded since he will be back at Sandringham.

I agree you handled that so well. I’ve often wondered why there are not more signs in multiple languages. The one that shocks me, the most is the Jewish crowd. I don’t understand that at all. that surprised me so much how disrespectful they are.
200+ languages spoken here in London, so you just know an incident would occur with one or another language omitted. My solution is far simpler: anyone visiting should do their own research - or follow and watch London City Walks 😂

Regimental standard and the new one was presented to the regiment in April last year. The Blues and Royals received their new regimental standard in June last year. If it's slightly smaller and has a "swallow tail" it's a guidon.

It's really annoying and frustrating when people see someone misbehaving but only decide whether or not to acknowledge it based on race, religion, or gender. Bad behavior is bad bad behavior regardless of who is doing it. You have never shied away from calling it and i hope you never do. If my son would have behaved that way there would be no excuses his butt would be in huge trouble end of story. My dad served in the navy for Vietnam, and reserves for korean war and my grandad was actually in the calvary in ww2. We have always respected the military. So glad you caught the parade magnificent horses and exciting to watch and hear them walking
