  • The Brooklands 'Wellington' 'Bellman' design Hangar was constructed for Vickers on the Track’s Finishing Straight in late 1940 and has been used to display the Museum aircraft and missile collection since the Eighties, In 2015 work started on the ‘Brooklands Aircraft Factory & Race Track Revival Project’. A new Flight Shed is being constructed close by the Hangar (hence so much dust on top of the display) and when finished most of the exhibits will be moved into it. Already many of the aircraft are being dismantled ready for the move, but the display will be kept open for visitors until the day of the move.
The Hangar will then be dismantled and then restored on a new site adjacent to its current one, allowing the Finishing Straight of the Race Track to be brought back into use for both motoring and aviation activities. Many of the exhibits will return to the refurbished Hangar which will allow the public to see much more of the background to the various items.
We took the opportunity to record the Hangar as it was in 4K UHD with my DJI Phantom 4 Drone on the evening of the 24th of May 2016

I loved what you did there. Looked great from above. I didn't know about the Wellington or hurricane that you have. Brilliant.

We have tried to get one of each type of aircraft built (or partially built as in the case of Concorde) at Brooklands and have most of the modern ones and some replicas like the Vimy and Sopwith Camel. Most people think of Brooklands for Motor Racing, but aviation there went on for nearly twice as long and we believe the Brookland site produced more aircraft than any other site in the World!.
