I’ve been doing mine since the pandemic and haven’t went back. I love the the freedom of not having to fight for an appointment and I can zone out and take my time. Put a show on in the background and just vibe
Same! And I now do my nails off my hand and then attach them with acrylic or if their not too opaque I use solid nail glue. My sets have never been more 🔥. I love getting a new set at my own pace.
Same here! I put on a show or comedy and just get in the zone! I have been trying all different types of ways to do my nails. I am still a press on princess but I am experimenting with lazy girl and gel x. I want to be able to rotate depending on how long I want it to take and what style I am going for. I also just purchased some acylic I am going to play with but more in making press ons I don't really want them like the salon attached I like to change them often without having to efile forever or soak forever lol gel is my favorite to work with.
I love beetles. Their products have always been great but they are constantly upping their game. And they stay with the trends. And the price point! You just can't beat it.
When 2020 hit i would watch your videos with my mom all the time in our home. Now in dec. 2023 im 3 months away from graduating from nail school and close to getting my license! Honestly feels like a full circle moment watching your videos while im in school rn 😅😂❤
You were actually quite influential in my nail journey. I watched all those old videos and bought a couple of kits, but ended up going back to the salon. I kept watching videos and finally started doing polygel on my own and fell in love. Been spending ridiculous amounts of money since on my nail addiction. I thought doing my own nails would save me money, but I can't stop buying products! It's fun though and I am always proud when someone compliments my nails.
See I thought I was spending more until I added up what I spent in 6 months on my "hobby" vs what I'd spend in 6 months at the salon. I fef didn't spend more thsn 1800, only about 600, so 1/3 thr price! I have a whole nail desk/nail area now and I'm going to cosmetology school in thr fall for a career change.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2021 at the height of covid. I had to protect myself, so i started watching you and haven't been back to a salon since. Thank you Evie!
I love that you don’t act like you never make mistakes. It makes people want to watch you more. People who act like they are perfect and never make mistakes bug me. I’m totally enjoying your video.
I’m a type 1 diabetic so since finding your channel a few years ago, I only do my own where as for years I hadn’t gone to a salon since being diagnosed at 35. So thanks to you and Marcus for being a joy to watch and you for showing me I can do it! ❤
I love Beetles! They never do wrong in my opinion. I started my nail journey in 2019 when I was pregnant with my first baby and because I didn’t want to use monomer I became a press on nail girly. Now I have a small business where I make press on nails, it’s called Hood Polished. You are my UA-cam inspiration. I learn a lot from your videos and your creativity to get the job done says a lot about you. I pray God continues to bless you and your family. In Jesus name, Amen. ❤
I was just craving a nail video from either you or Emily, your timing is amazing!!❤️ I started doing my nails in March 2020 and I have now been doing my nails for about 3 1/2 years and I love being an at home nail girly ❤️
I just started. It started with gel polish then my nails broke, probably because I was too rough with them at first. So now I'm getting ready to put on tips!
I haven’t been back to the nail shop since 2021! My sets were running me 80-100 with a high chance of having to sit and wait 30-1hr with an appointment! I said no ma’am, I be right here learning from Evie 🥰
“Be bold. Be you. Be BEETLES.” Is wild 😂 I did my nails on and off for years before covid. But back when I started gel nails wasn’t even a thing. Acrylics or bust. So, I’m very happy to have the ease of gel nails to use now days!
I went back to the salon ONCE this year (I usually do my own gel nails at home). They gave me an acrylic set, and can I tell you how PAINFUL they were?!? I didn't even get long nails! But whenever my fingers even so much as grazed anything, that acrylic was tryna rip my natural nails off! I didn't realize exactly how flexible gel nails really are befoe that, bc my at-home gel nails are waaaaay longer than any acrylic nails I've ever been able to wear, and they don't bother me. My at-home gel nails also don't break off randomly like salon acrylics 💅
Mrs. Evie i have been doing my nails at home for years now. I have a gel allergy but I now use the gel polish to make my own press ons, and glue them vs adhering them with gel. This gives me the ability to do all my designs on nail stands, which allows me to be more artistic.
the last time I got my nails done was in 2021, I had started doing them at home during COVID and decided to treat myself once things were opening up again. I spent $80 not including tip on some baby boomers at the salon and I didn't even like them lol so I went back to doing my own acrylics ever since. my skill has improved so much that friends and family have asked me to do theirs. All thanks to watching your videos!
You have a beautiful family and I love how your man is genuinely interested and knows about your 'inventory' and supplies. It's so sweet. I did a set like this on my daughter and they lasted longer on her than acrylics. She's always picking at her nails too and they held up for 6 weeks at least. They were cute. I used LV designer foils on them. 😊
I started following you about 10 years ago when I first started playing in makeup lmao. I genuinely enjoy your energy and content. Eventually after watching you for years and being fed up with nail salons I started practicing my own nails. I started out with the kiss acrylic kit that was maybe $5 at CVS. I've been doing my nails ever since.
I love this kit. Been using it for 2 years now and I’m happy to say I can use this kit and have professional looking nails that only cost $16 once a year instead of a basic white acrylic set that costs $60 every 2-3 weeks 😂😂❤️❤️
I do my own nails for 7 years now using polygel, buildergel or full cover tips. You're absolutely my favorite creator and a big inspiration when I'm clueless what to do with my nailart ❤ Lots of love from Netherlands
You have such a beautiful family and home! I always feel like you give a realistic perspective for someone who wants to start doing their nails at home. I feel like I can achieve things based on your instructions and experience, whereas some other nail tech tutorials just seem way too complicated. Things needs to be simple to start! So thank you for that! ❤
I used to be in the nail salon every 2 weeks, but I started doing them myself not only because I knew I could but also to save money. I love doing my own nails, especially since you introduced me to polygel. I'll do my toes too, although I still enjoy a pedi every once in a while. This set is super cute!! 💜
I've always done my own nails because I prefer gel over acrylic. The nail salon I used to go to preferred doing acrylic or dips. So I kept doing it myself.
I started watching you and Emily in 2020. I was staying at home with my mom after leaving my little apartment in nyc during the thick of Covid. She saw how obsessed I was with your nail videos and got me a bunch of stuff for Xmas. I’ve been doing my own nails since, I don’t do them regularly. Just when I really feel like it. But I still religiously watch you and Emily and tons of other nail-tubers! Such a therapeutic hobby I’m so glad I got into. 🖤💅🏼
I went DIY with my nails long before the pandemic cuz yeah I was not paying those prices to just not be happy with the job they were doing. Well hard work doing my own nails it's also very rewarding. I love it when people say " I love your nails" and I get to say "Thanks, I did them myself!"
Beautiful set! That color is cool!! Thanks to you and your brand, I'm still doing my own nails! The independence to do them like I want and not being charged wild amounts and off and on attitudes of techs, I appreciate the tutorials you do! I actually get more compliments on my nails now! ❤💯
I'm so excited to receive my kit in a few days. I bought mine as a birthday gift to myself from Amazon for 20 dollars. It came with the lamp tips glue top coat a nail brush rhinestones and 12 polishes. I feel like I got a steal for the price... Thanks for the tutorial.❤ Wish me luck 😂❤
I binge watched your videos during the uk lockdown and taught myself how to do my own acrylics. 4 years on I’ve saved a fortune not going to the salon and people tell me all the time I should do others nails because they look professionally done! So thankyou because your videos was my Beauty school 🤣
I’ve been doing mine since the pandemmy. With videos like this for inspo, I see no need in paying someone to do them. I actually enjoy doing my nails while watching your videos
You are the reason I got back into doing my nails after having my daughter. I didn’t go to salons or do my nails at home I just had natural nails. You reignited my nail passion and I’m so glad as I really enjoy doing my nails. I’m a polygel girl and have never tried acrylic so I would like to venture out a bit. I really want to try aquarium nails too!! ❤
Heeyyy Evie!!! I love this recap. You are the reason I started doing my own nails during COVID. I am still doing them myself to this day. You inspired me then and you continue to inspire me to this day. I’m no where near as artistic as you are, but I get the job done!!!! ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Shout out to you for keeping us girlies in the know, for these products you test out for us. I use the products you deem “worthy”!!!! Thanks for the vlog AND especially for our Saturday night Sip and chat!!🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
evie, your videos are so comforting to me on some of my hardest days. thank you for all of the content that you make! seeing you smile and seeing your happy family always makes me feel so much better. ❤
I ordered the kit after watching this video! It really is a game changer! They're so easy to put on, easy to file, sturdy, and stay on really well. I'm in love 💘
I’m a press on girly now. Quick and effective. No uv cancer risk. No shaping or buffing. I found a glue that holds for 4-5 weeks. Never looking back. The only extra thing I do with my press ons is apply OPI primer and top coat to keep the design from chipping and provides a high gloss shine.
Pre-pandemic I used to get my nails done every three weeks (very short with a solid colour gel polish). During the pandemic I got a lamp and my own polishes, but after watching your videos I wanted nails with sparkle and fun designs so in the last year I switched to Kiss and Dashing Diva press-ons and that’s where I’m at. I love being able to change up my nails weekly.
I love Beetles 😊. Evie, I been with you so long, for years, I don't remember when I started. But you changed the game for me. People keep asking me where I get my nails done. I'm NEVER going back to the nail salon. Sticking with you and your great tutorials has taught me so much. I feel so good when I do my nails and I will be eternally grateful to you. Thank you Evie 💅💜💐.
Even though it’s one solid color, they’re sooo pretty! Mya approved. 🥰 Would love to see you test out the BTArt Box full cover tip set. Some come with designs already on them.
I started my journey in 2022 after spending $80 on dip and a pedicure and walking out very unhappy. They did not listen to any of my requests. But thanks to you I am now at least a year and a half in. I’m more of a builder gel girl now, but I have tried all the nail enhancements after watching your videos. You’re amazing and thank you for allllll this amazing content.
beetles products and pre-scored full cover tips cut my mani time in about 1/3 prep gel glue the tips paint boom I would still be doing 4 hour manicures without you, hon! been watching for at least 5 years!
I have always done my own nails, when my kids were little...I would go as a treat. But gel has changed the game for me and polygel! OMG...I really have alot of fun....now I change my designs every three or four days.
I came across one of your other videos where u were making the roses and I couldn't find it again. Then low and behold this one popped up today! I absolutely love your videos. Your so real and not scared for things not to be perfect which I love! I like to watch real people doing/trying real things and it's not always perfect sometimes there is a learning curve which makes people like me trying new nail techniques feel normal if I don't get things perfect the 1st time. Thank you so much for the real videos! I also love your attitude u are very light hearted, don't take things so serious and u don't acy fake. It's creators like you that I love to watch now I am going to peep your other videos to see what else I can learn 🙂 thank you again please keep the videos coming
There was a girl in my hometown who did gel polish from home a couple of evenings a week. When she said she was moving back to Ireland I got my first mylee nail kit from Groupon and I've been doing them myself for more than 5 years now 😆I love beetles colour sets because I need to have *all the colours* and all the stamping plates (used to be from wish, now it's usually the Moyou ones when they're on sale). My nails take a beating at work, and I do pottery every week, so doing them myself saves me a fortune and means I can fix or change them whenever I want, or whenever I trash them on the wheel 😆
In so grateful for all the options there are for gel nails now. I'm HIGHLY allergic to acrylic and it makes me sad that it's such an issue to go get my nails done. I appreciate all the at home, diy options we have now. 🎉🎉🎉
I started doing my nails in about late 2019.. just polish and polygel. But during the pandemic I began getting more into both polygel and acrylic, using nail tips and nail forms. I also would do some nail art and I got good surprisingly. But I got pregnant in late 2020 and the smells would give me migraines so I stopped. I learned from watching you all those years 🥰
I used to go to a nail salon before Covid but I started doing my own nails this year. I can’t see myself going back to a salon again. Love your videos Evie ❤️
I got the kit after watching your first video. I am a nail tech, but i got it to use on myself. Now a few of my naiil customers are hooked on it too. I will say it doesn't work for all my clients but i just love it. They are really great when doing chrome. You know chrome don"t play and shows every imperfection.
Evie!! Thanks so much for the frequent videos!! You & hubby have been putting in some work & it's greatly appreciated! I realized last night that I had watched every video this year & had to go back and watch all the shorts & made sure I liked them all too!! I've been watching your channel since 2018 & you were my inspiration to quit going to the nail shops ( I haven't been since 2018) & try doing my own again. I don't get to try elaborate design that you create/ recreate but I love watching all your videos!! Thank you for showing us your trial & errors and different techniques!! And thank y'all for bringing back the introoooooo to The LongHairPrettyNail Showwwww 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Intro and outro...love it! The nails are so pretty. Sometimes less bling is better. Drawing attention to your nails is also advertising your brand and your channel, so it makes sense that you don't get to do it often. Peace and blessing!
My nails weakened significantly as part of a chronic illness (&/or the medication), so I'd just started going to a salon when Covid started. At first, I just tried doing lots of coats of nail varnish, but watching nail videos inspired me to try polygel, for stronger nails that lasted longer. I like nail stamping, glitter, & rainbow manis, but don't use charms, even though I love the look, because I bang them all the time. But kawaii nails are my favourite to look at!
Ever since watching you years ago, I’ve only done my own nails. Especially, since I’ve been mistreated by some nail salons. I get sooooo many compliments on my nail designs…
So grateful for your og intro being back I was having the worst day today and just came to your channel to catch up cuz I been so busy I fell behind & the way this is healing my soul ❤ you have no idea how grateful I am to you and your channel. Been here for 6+ years now and the way you cheer me up so I can have a better day ❤ thank you for all you do your really THAT GIRL ❤ AUTHENTICALLY 💅🏿❤
I haven’t been to the salon in 30 years for nails. I started my nail journey right before the pandemic because I couldn’t keep regular nail polish on and I figured a gel overlay would help to keep it from peeling. A few thousand dollars later, I almost never use any of my ~750 bottles of nail polish. Turns out, I like to see a longish natural nail under a gel overlay with glitter in it or nail art on top. My non-dominant hand looks great. My other hand is still kind of a mess. I never stick to one product or technique long enough to get very good at it. I just started making my own press ons for my right hand. I kinda love that.
Oh, I love Holo Taco so much and actually have this color. Your nails are stunning and I promptly bought a Beetles kit (mostly for the lamp) and shorter extensions - so thank you for doing this video. I would never have bought this kit otherwise!
I started practicing doing my nails in like 2015, and then stopped until the pandemic. I did them for a long time but kind of ruined my dominant hand with poor technique. So, I took like a year off and am back at it. So far, so good! I think the break actually helped me somehow.
EVIE! I learned a trick to wear dumb long nails every day: cut my thumb nails down to a manageable length! With a relatively shorter thumb nail, the rest of your nails don't interfere with you using your hands.
my stepdad got us ladies our first nail lamp back in 2020 for valentines day and i have only gone back to the salon once, and it was for a girls day in atl with my grandmother :) i adore learning different ways to do nails and being my little sisters personal nail tech is the best, theres no going back now😂
I been doing my own design in my nails way before the pandemic. But when I found polygel I been doing my own, then full cover gel tips came a long I never gone to the salon since. So I been doing my own nails for over 10 years now. I love it, I get exactly what I want and how I want it without paying $$$$$ at the salon for what I like. I get compliments all the time, and I sold a couple sets of press ons to friends. ❤
I am a simple, polish nail girl as well! Maybe a cute design, like an ombre, or a marble, but that’s about all. And I am all about DIY! I always used to do my own nails every Sunday afternoon with regular polish when I was in my 20s. It was just a relaxing activity I enjoyed after church and after Sunday dinner while watching TV. Fast forward to 2020 and I was using press on nails but they kept popping off. I started looking for ways to do my nails but make them last. I didn’t realize that I was caught in the wave of the DIY nail trend during the pandemic. I had started watching you around the time you got pregnant with Mya and your videos were so helpful. I tried many different products and styles of application, and the one that I can pull off most successfully is this Beatles styled dupe. Except I have the Kiara Sky mini lamp. I think I bought it based on one of your older videos!😂 Thanks for your dedication to continuing to share with us over the years. I love watching you do the crazy nail sets and Marcus’s reactions! It is literally my entertainment!😂 But I have no intention of trying them out myself!🤣
I have a crooked finger too. It was only after your videos that I realized I could make it look straight by putting the nail on "crooked." Thanks for the tips and tricks, and for making Patty Gel because it is literally the best.
I was doing my own nails with the beetles kit, then a polygel kit. then I learned about gel allergies and got nervous since my application isn't the most precise. so that's on pause for now. I've never actually been to a nail salon but I plan to start doing my own nails again at some point
I’m so at home girlie. I’m obsessed with doing my own. 3 tall cases full of nail stuff lol 😂 I started with your video of the Allure Dip powder kit. Now have acrylic and gel products as well as dip powder, all kind of tools and gel polish. Girl I got carried away lol 😂
I love watching your videos I started doing my nails with salon prices and being disappointed with the end result I watch you and do my best . If I mess up I fix it myself thank you so much
These tips saved my pockets. I’ve learned so much about nails here on UA-cam University. I’ve been doing my own nails since the pandemic and haven’t looked back. Prior to that I had the same nail tech for almost 13 years. It started to get a bit expensive though.
I’ll never go back to a salon!! Doing mine for life now. It all started with my obsession with clear nails and how they were achieved and now I’m doing new sets every two weeks. I love doing it. It’s so therapeutic and is another art form that I get to indulge in. Also, that Holo Taco color is the one. I bought two bottles cos I love it so much.
DIY!!! & I LOVE IT HERE!!! After 2 nail fungus episodes from 2 different salons, I followed you E & havent looked back since. I have gel x nails thats just been sitting in the corner, dont feel like polygel so this video was on time. Thank you E

Same, honestly. Hundreds of dollars, but so worth it for my "hobby."
Oh man this is me.. over 20 thousand so far 😢😢😢
OMG! You too?! Me too! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels like I went from thinking I’d save money, to splurging on all the cute things!
Yup! Even with all the coun I spend, it will never cost as much as I spent going to my favorite salon!

What type product did you use to add accessories to your nails? Thanks in advance for your response 😊
Nail glue or some gel or a combo of both.

Yay! i’m finally early on a video. My daughter and i love your videos. Thank u for keeping it PG always 🥰 families who watch u appreciate it.
Beautiful set! That color is cool!! Thanks to you and your brand, I'm still doing my own nails! The independence to do them like I want and not being charged wild amounts and off and on attitudes of techs, I appreciate the tutorials you do! I actually get more compliments on my nails now! ❤💯
That polish colour is *gorgeous!* Love it.
Your family is adorable ❤
Seeing you and your beautiful family just makes me happy. You guys look so happy. ❤
I have not had my nails done in 20 years. You changed my mind and i ordered the beetles kit and some nail colors. A lot has changed in my life time
@21:28 I understand!! I love it when I do a simple color- I still get compliments!! Super powah
What glue do you use? I’m wanting to make my own press ons but haven’t been impressed by glues in the past
What glue sis ? I’m tired of re gluing mines on every other day😩
@samanthabatt2758 the kiss pink gel nail glue is damn good. My nails stay on at minimum 2+ weeks
That color is absolutely beautiful! I love it!
You’re amazing and thank you for allllll this amazing content.
beetles products and pre-scored full cover tips cut my mani time in about 1/3
prep
gel glue the tips
paint
boom
I would still be doing 4 hour manicures without you, hon! been watching for at least 5 years!
I now do my own nails since 2020, no more shops. You’re videos taught me alot
Baby girl is adorable. Love the simple nails. Love holo taco polish.
Love the simple nails! Also enjoy the little clips you share of your family. So lovely 🥰
The nails are pretty and the family vibes are awesome. You are blessed lady.
Thank you for this basic yet beautiful set, and I even appreciate the wonky nail that you fixed too. This seems totally doable!
Intro and outro...love it! The nails are so pretty. Sometimes less bling is better. Drawing attention to your nails is also advertising your brand and your channel, so it makes sense that you don't get to do it often. Peace and blessing!
Gosh, I LOOOOVE your voice and anything you do with your nails. ❤ Your giggle makes me happy!
I ordered that same kit a few days ago and was desperate for a video about it! Your timing is impeccable Evie!
I have been doing my own for over 20 years. But I am in love with full cover tips. Saves me so much time.
Proud at home nail gurlie, because the shop ALWAYS disappoints 🤣
Ever since watching you years ago, I’ve only done my own nails. Especially, since I’ve been mistreated by some nail salons. I get sooooo many compliments on my nail designs…
So grateful for your og intro being back
I was having the worst day today and just came to your channel to catch up cuz I been so busy I fell behind & the way this is healing my soul ❤ you have no idea how grateful I am to you and your channel.
So glad the intro is back!!! And now i have to pop on my beetles nails for my day off fun with my hubby 🥰
I absolutely LOVE these!!! Perfect for everyday wear! 💜 And what a precious family ending 🥰
EVIE! I learned a trick to wear dumb long nails every day: cut my thumb nails down to a manageable length!
With a relatively shorter thumb nail, the rest of your nails don't interfere with you using your hands.
Yes, I do this too
my stepdad got us ladies our first nail lamp back in 2020 for valentines day and i have only gone back to the salon once, and it was for a girls day in atl with my grandmother :) i adore learning different ways to do nails and being my little sisters personal nail tech is the best, theres no going back now😂
The babyyyyy she so adorable! and the nails were cute too lol 👏🏾
I’m all DIY and people like you make it so much easier! Thanks Evie! I LOVE your halo taco one color look! Gorgeous!
They definitely improved the light! I love your honest reviews of products, whether they are kits or press on nails from other creators/brands.
I love just polished nails. They look wonderful. It seems like I always do one crooked with this method. 😊 You have a beautiful family. ❤
I have this exact same kit and absolutely love it!!!!
I love that color!!!! I love those cotton candy and iridescent type nails too! And I'm a purple girl rather than pink. Lol. 💜
I have a crooked finger too. It was only after your videos that I realized I could make it look straight by putting the nail on "crooked." Thanks for the tips and tricks, and for making Patty Gel because it is literally the best.
Yesssss bring back the cotton candy nails!!!😍😍😍 These are so simple but they look so good!!
I love it Evie..simple, cute, classic and elegant. Simply beautiful my nail lady!
I was doing my own nails with the beetles kit, then a polygel kit. then I learned about gel allergies and got nervous since my application isn't the most precise. so that's on pause for now. I've never actually been to a nail salon but I plan to start doing my own nails again at some point
I love this simplicity of this set! I love the creative nails and the simple nails, you can do no wrong in my eyes Evie 😊
If I mess up I fix it myself thank you so much
I just re-watched the old video last night. This is right on time!
These tips saved my pockets. I’ve learned so much about nails here on UA-cam University. I’ve been doing my own nails since the pandemic and haven’t looked back. Prior to that I had the same nail tech for almost 13 years. It started to get a bit expensive though.
You helped me start doing my nails during covid and I never stopped. I buy what u buy and really enjoy watching my progress..thank u
I love that you just did one color today! You been working hard girl, it’s nice to give yourself some beautiful simplicity 😘
Thank you E
