We got an old 20 ton case poclain 888b here the cab burnt out on it, sat for 10 years then decided to get it going bit off fiddling and wiring she fired back up! And still gets used
Thanks for taking me along. I enjoyed the Auction the most, wished you stayed for more. I like hearing and seeing how much people are willing to pay for something.
There was way more good metal in the door on that old dresser loader, than there was that whole rusty rotted out Hitachi long reach L.O.L. That old dresser looked good for it's age, so many of those old loaders have been beat to death and pigeon crap welded together with 200lb of rods and bits of torch cut scrap steel. It just seems to me the bigger the loader the harder some guys beat the crap out of them, to try break the booms and stuff off over the years. Thanks for the video, Take care.
Understanding an auctioneer is not for everyone at a big auction like Richie brothers that is where this video I think it was filmed there is a huge 20 foot television that shows all the bidding for people who don’t understand the auctioneer. But actually this guy was very clear and easy to understand
Would that Takeuchi at 14:00, with the lateral movement of the boom, be for digging footings? I'm thinking of DigginOK who does beautiful ditches with a backhoe, and moves the pivot point so the stick moves parallel to the side of the ditch. It makes for very clean sides, and _very_ tidy footings.
Trevor Dennis yes it’s really handy for footings and digging in tight areas. My old 153 was just like that and I could dig between houses and spin around no problem
Richie bros. Drive by their place in Humble NW Hou all the time. One can dream. Sometimes its fun just to go and listen to the live online auction. Tons of stuff

@@NigelHeads UH no! Only if there is damage. I cannot afford to let a machine sit while they paint it. It may sound wrong, but when machines are not broken, they dont get a paint job. Faded paint is of little concern. Lets take my 2012 Volvo for instance. My main concerns are is it operational and is it operating. I don;t care if it has rust, or a bad paint job. The steel on those machines is 3/8 to 1 inch thick. They get beat up all day long. The paint really is not that important. I bought a Komatsu from a guy. He had bought it all shinny and freshly painted. He did not have enough knowledge with equipment and he got suckered. He paid about 40 k more for this machine than it was worth. But it was purdy! He used it for less than 2 weeks twisted the dipper arm at a bad repair and did not realize the hydraulic pump had a sever over heat. Causing low flow and low power. If that machine had not been purdied up, he would have seen the bad repair and overheat and would not have bought that machine. Fools buy machines that are purdy. I bought the machine off of him repaired the dipper arm, by cutting it all apart and re-welding it back together. Now it digs straight and does not have a crack in it. I pulled the pump sandblasted it rebuilt it and put it back into service. I go look at equipment all the time with guys, who want my opinion. They are always dazzled with the shinny new paint. Most of the time it is to hide a bad repair or significant problem. Like the guy I know who had to buy this Peterbilt dump truck. It was all shinny and new paint. The bed looked awesome! Well too awesome.? They had used bondo to build up the bed. Within 3 days of that truck in service all the bondo had popped and it looked like hell, but the frame of the bed had spider cracks all the way from the rear pivot hinge to within 3 feet of the front of the bed.The bed was about ready to separate from the frame it was built on. To fix that truck he had to buy a new 23k bed to go on it. So I will take the old faded paint equipment that I can see all the good, bad, and ugly, before I buy the shinny new fishing lure paint job equipment every day of the year! Lots of neat looking fishing lures never catch fish, but boy do they catch a lot of suckers who buy them.
I was so hoping Chris would throw something on the belt so we could see it come off the end. He could borrowed one of the lad's bags and told them to get ready to catch it. 🤣🤣
Good Grief, I didn't know you could beat a piece of equipment as bad as some of these. I watched Gold Rush this season and noticed each mine got a bunch of Volvo equipment. I wondered if they were able to use them at no charge as if they were used for advertising. Looks like that was the deal. Hey letsdig18, I seen you were at a Yoder & Frey auction which is in Archbold Ohio. Are you based out of Northwest Ohio?

Man was to have the money that stuff setting there would be cool to know what its worth. I am here to say I do envy you'ns road trip is or as well. I was rounding off numbers in my brain box what just excavators are worth in that line you showed off. It is more money than you can ever fathom having. I like knowing that even though you will never have stuff in any wallet unless you hit a gold pocket like we do happen to have here. At one time there was a picture of a gold dredge that couldn't lift the weight of the gold in it as it was only half full but the men had to hand shovel it out into boats on the pond. Means it come through a gold streak under there which wasn't when the first was found (bucket fulls) on the second bucket right on through. Each shovel full by hand the hand held shovel could only have a small amount in it or the handle would break and have to be replaced. Gold was worth, less than seven dollars a ounce, then. It was several thousand dollars worth now in each little scoop. Keep smiling as it is easier than frowning

That Gold Rush Volvo lol
