The honorable mention of scourge of the past I love this one for it's mechanics and mainly the sparrow race bit against the servitor though the raid is vaulted now in d2 I still wish we could get another raid like it
As someone who's been playing since the D1 Alpha, I don't disagree with this list as much as I thought I would lol. I respect having King's Fall at 1st. My personal favorite raid was always D1 Crota (haven't done D2 yet) but I always viewed King's Fall as the best all around raid they ever made. Epic setting, tons of unique boss fights and mechanics, cool armor, the guns are actually good in the D2 version, fun jumping puzzles, and honestly I just feel like it doesn't get old. A lot of other raids tend to do one or 2 things really well, but then have parts of them that aren't great. King's Fall is the only one that is stellar across the board in my opinion.
@@taspenss That'll do it yeah. I rank VoG a lot higher than you probably due to those same reasons. Also the video was very good for your channel size. Keep it up!
Garden of salvation is unironicallyy favourite raid, i i love how fast it can be if everyone is on the same page, and equally how long it can get. The 2 boss encounters have really fun dps strats, and the tether isnt broken like everyone thinks, you just gotta be a little patient and give it a second
Personally I love some of the Garden weapons like Sacred Providence and Ancient Gospel, those two weapons kept me playing Garden well past when I should have stopped
My list is very different Best to worst order. DSC, Vow, Crotas, RoN, LW, KF, VoG, Garden. Last Wish and RoN are kind interchangeable on my list. DSC if my favorite because it was my first new raid as I started playing with beyond light. The weapons are some of my most used and since the revamp I love them even more. I also find it a very easy raid to teach but its not brain dead like RoN. I also have a lot of fond memories playing this raid 3 times a week every week with the same group also we had more players in our friend group back then lots of them quit playing during witch queen because the seasons were so bad. Vow I think could be #1 if the opening push the payload objective was removed or made faster. My day 1 vow is heartbreaking as my group made it to rhulk and we battled him for like 4 hours then my internet died. It was my upload speed so I could watch them stream but I couldn't play it was sad to see them finish it after like 16 hours or however long we had been in there. However RoN has my favorite weapon of all time. Ever since I picked up deafening whisper I knew I wanted an arc wave frame. Then we got salvagers salvo in season 13 and I knew I wanted chain reaction. I legit shed a tear when I saw forbearance could get chain reaction. Granted part of that was because I wasn't able to do finish the raid so I was already a little emotional. But it does sort of sadden me that forbearance is as good as it is because it means it will get nerfed eventually I think. Granted its been well over a year with no nerf. Crotas I am ranking high as it was a surprising remaster maybe with time this ranking will change but for now I love it. RoN I had the same deal where I got the exotic on my contest clear which was only like 8 hours which was wild. LW being this low I know is controversial but I just dont have the same attachment to it. It was technically my first raid but I got dragged into it not knowing what a raid was or that the dreaming city even existed. The loot revamp is nice but aside from apex predator I dont really care. KF meh I dont hate it nor do I love it. Its a raid. VoG I did like 70 clears of that raid over the 9 months it was the new raid (because WQ got delayed we didn't get a new raid for a long time) I just got so burnt out on it. Garden is self explanatory - mediocre loot, mediocre music, bad mechanics, cool environment.
Very good video, earned my sub & like. Here is my ranking as someone who has hundreds of raid clears (I’m only gonna rank the raids that are available, since the last time I played leviathan for example was over 3 years ago) Starting with least favorite: 8. Vault of glass Encounters: opening encounter and 1st encounter are literally just add clear, Templar doesn’t really have cool mechanics aswell. Only cool encounter being aetheon and gatekeeper in my opinion Lowman: one of the worst/easiest ones, nothing changes up till aetheon, u are required to cheese both gatekeeper and aetheon and then only that one person that cheeses the encounter gets to do the hard job, the others are just playing it the same way as a full team would do it. Loot: very solid loot. Still the best hc for pve, and one of the best shotties for pvp. Machine gun and rocket still decent 7. Root of Nightmares Encounters: first & second encounter is aren’t fun just 1-2 people connect the dots, the others are just add clearing. 3rd is actually a very good encounter and nezzi is alright. Lowman: solid as a lowman, especially fun solo or duo Loot: solid loot. Only the exotic is meta defining , the other weapons are decent like auto and linear 6. Crotas end Encounters: 1st encounter very fun, but very frustrating if 1 teammate is bad and constantly dies, second encounter is boring. Third encounter is boring aswell, Crota is very fun. Lowman:As a trio it has been my least fun experience so far Loot: very mid, weapons are in bad archetypes but have good rolls. Machine gun the only outstanding weapon. 5. Garden of Salvation Encounter: Very bad enemy density, power crept, 1st encounter is great. Second kinda boring, third is a great encounter and final boss is alright Lowman: as a trio is it among the more fun raids, every encounter is challenging in a fun way. Boss is probably the least fun, basically works the normal way. Loot: probably the worst raid loot currently. Might get its loot refresh next season. 4. kingsfall Encounters: Solid encounters, a lot of bosses, very Dps focused raid. Very good traversing sections. Mechanics are punishing if one player is new to the raid and a little lost. Lowman: One of the hardest trios, due to first encounter being very hard. Other encounters are a solid/fun difficulty Loot: very similar loot to crotas end, very mid, weapons are in bad archetypes but good perks. Hc is really good now and sniper decent for pvp. 3.Deepstone Crypt Encounters: easy and fast raid, but very fun. Especially for people with augments. Everyone can have something to do. Every encounter is great. Lowman: One of the most fun lowmans for me. Easy lowman but Duo quite challenging. Mechanic strats change quite a bit for third and final encounter. Loot: Very good loot, best legendary sword for dps, best slug in the kinetic slot, best general sniper, best machine gun. 2.Vow of the Disciple Encounters: very confusing for newer players to raiding. A lot of symbols to memorize. One of the most challenging raids. Great mechanics. Everyone can have something to do for each encounter, very forgiving for newer players if the others kwtd. Every encounter is great (first one maybe takes a little too long, same goes for rhulk before u enter the dps arena) Lowman: Challenging encounters, very fun. U can do everything the intended way Loot: Very good loot, but probably not as good as lw or deepstone. Wave frame is still the best legendary add clear weapon in the game. Best linear in the game. Best kinetic smg in the game (maybe showrunner can take that spot now) 1.Last Wish Encounters: very power crept. A lot of bosses and cool mechanics. Unfortunatly the enemy density is very bad (except shuro chi and maybe riven) and the bosses done have enough health. Riven still being one of the best boss fights ever if u don’t cheese it Lowman: Requires a lot of cheese, probably the hardest Trio raid if you are not cheesing riven and queenswalk isn’t easy either. But very fun. Loot: Very good loot. Meta defining rocket launcher. Special weapons are great, primaries too. Final thoughts: My top 3 are very close together and change from time to time. Even as I’m writing this I can’t decide on what to put on number one. Every single of these raids has a small drawback. Also I value the lowman version if the raid a lot in this Ranking.
Ik this is an opinion based list, so i cant really be mad but Votd is insane and i feel at least it should be higher, amazing loot and master mode makes it really challenging, also is very fun on repeat runs
VOG is my favorite, loved in D1, love it more in D2. I sherpa tons of new players through it, it’s just a fun time. Mechanically it’s not too intense, so it’s a good raid to just hop into. Relic running on Templar is also so fucking fun.
Love this video because I disagree with your rankings 1000% and I think that’s the beauty of videos like this, to start conversation, and also, hell yeah getting back into the game and aggressively raiding, welcome back!!! Also, again your opinions and mine are super different and yours are well reasoned and based on your own style, I won’t fight you on that at all!!!!! However… give Touch of Malice another chance. It’s been buffed/tuned and has incredible synergy with the new Warlock exotic gloves, Briarbands. Also also as s Void Warlock enthusiast who needed 38 looted clears for Collective Obligation, how dare you?! 😂
It's neat to hear other people's introduction's to destiny. I personally started playing when it was free on Activision/Blizzard (around a month or so after Forsaken launched), but I never really got into until a year later when Shadowkeep launched and my friend pressured me to buy the dlc. 4 years and an untold amount of hours later, and I'm hooked, lmao. This game has consumed me to the point that I almost wished my friend hadn't convinced me to download it. Almost. As someone who had the opportunity to play all the raids, this is my personal ranking 13. Vault of Glass, this raid is a resident snooze fest, I'm sorry, I'm just really not a fan of it. Atheon's track is pretty bop tho. 12. Eater of Worlds, honestly, the jumping puzzle is the best part of it for me, lmao. The main mechaninc was, neat, but not nearly enough to make this fight engaging. It was like playing those resteraunt management games where you had to make sure your orders of fried vex craniums were ready to be delivered on time. 11. Garden of Salvation, I honestly really like the first two encounters, but the rest of the raid isn't really engaging enough to keep my interest. 10. Scourge of the Past, honestly, I love everything about this raid. It has the best entrance encounter bungie's ever designed imo, and the boss felt very fresh and unique compared to the rest of D2. Tho I've only ever done it twice, so I don't have _too_ many memories of it. 9. Root of Nightmares, objectively, SotP is better, but I'm a little biased because it's the first raid I've ever done on contest mode and also trio'd. The mechanics might be a little simple, but trio'ing a raid was such a fresh and fun experience compared to playing raids normally. 8. King's Fall, I really like this raid, it's tough and engaging, but like, it also feels bad(?) if that makes sense. I enjoy this raid, I really do, but it also makes me go "ugh," at the idea of running it multiple times. It's the kinda raid I can only do once a blue moon. 7. Crown of Sorrow, I've only ever actually done the final boss encounter, which might be why I like it more than I should. Everything about it is so hectic, there's so many things you needed to pay attention to, and everyone had a roll. It wasn't the kind of raid where you could get away with just doing add clear. Gahlran was the goat. 6. Last Wish, mechanically, I'd say it blows everything out of the water. Each encounter is so different from each other, despite having the same foundation, so it never feels monotonous or boring. However, this raid hasn't ever really _grabbed_ me. I think it might be the best raid bungie has released, but it's never been my favourite. I dunno, it was before my time, I guess. I wasn't really all that invested in destiny in the Forsaken era. Also, spending 100+ hours farming all the LW weapons does not do your psyche any favours. 5. Spire of Stars, "are you really putting Spire of Stars above Last Wi-" Yes😎. Val Ca'uor remains one of my favourite experiences in destiny, he's by far the hardest raid boss bungie has designed. Much like Crown of Sorrow, it's an encounter where everyone has a role, and there's no room for error. 4. Vow of the Disciple, the entrance encounter is cool the first time around, but doing it everytime you want to do a run gets old real quick. Besides that, everything else is stellar. Honestly really liked memorizing and reading out the symbols. 3rd encounter used to be my least favourite until I got good at it, now it's one of my favourites. It also gets bonus points for having the first boss that actively fights back and is actually a threat during dps. 3. Crota's End, Crota on contest mode singlehandedly sprang this to one of my favourites. It's probably a completely different experience on normal, but the constant swarm of enemies and Crota raining hell on you, one person with enlightened dying possibly causing a wipe, the constant fear of Crota breaking your well and annihilating your team, one slight misstep during final stand causing you to wipe, everything about it constantly kept you on your toes. Not only that, but feeling myself get better with every attempt was just as satisfying as finally beating him. 2. Leviathan, high-key biased because this was my first ever raid, but Leviathan holds a special place in my heart. I loved the vibe of the raid just being one giant gameshow, and all of the encounters were incredibly varied and interesting. It also a tribute to the time when I was a complete noob, lmao. Me and my friends' first prestige leviathan took _weeks_ to finally complete, they were many weeks _well_ worth spent. 1. Deep Stone Crypt, y'know, up until recently, I actually used to dislike this raid. All of my lfg experiences were horrible, I'd either match with toxic players, speedrunners who didn't care about other people's progress, hackers, or all three (there legit was one run with all three, lmao). Nobody ever took the time to explain it properly either, so I was stuck on add clear the entire time. Then, much like Root of Nightmares, I decided to trio it with my friends, and it was a completely different experience. The run itself took *8 hours* but it was by far the most fun I've ever had raiding, and also sparked my love for low-mans. Also, low-manning it unironically helped me understand the mechanics more than any lfg or guide video could, lmao. Deep Stone is by far my favourite raid, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Sorry about the essay, lol, I got way more enthusiastic about this than I thought.
damn, I somehow like garden (maybe because i love the aesthetic a ton), the mechanic's not the best but I dont think it's terrible either, if it was less gambit and more something else it'd be top tier imo
Am i the only person who thinks last wish is kinda mid like the armour is just the dreaming city armour and the weapons are kinda useless except apex predator the coolest thing about the raid is riven even the exotic just kinda sucks compared to other options and it being heavy makes it suffer more because it takes your exotic and heavy slots like eyes of tomorrow
for sure kings fall is last place, I have done over 200 clears of each raid and i can say for a fact that this raid is just boring, the final encounter is fkn braindead… u sit there and shoot the chest after doing the easiest encounter steps EVER… everything but kings fall rating is accurate
Terrible take lmao “this raid has easy mechanics it’s too easy so it’s boring” “this raid has super chill mechanics which makes it fun” how does that even make sense? 🤣
I personally think DSC is overrated. It has every single problem Root has. The only difference is that it’s not Root and has good music. Both have 3 brain dead encounters and a great mid boss encounter.
The honorable mention of scourge of the past I love this one for it's mechanics and mainly the sparrow race bit against the servitor though the raid is vaulted now in d2 I still wish we could get another raid like it
