13:24-13:31 I would like to see Optimus Prime looking like that, but I think he looks better in the Bumblebee movie, mixing both designs of G1 and Bayverse. It's just my opinion.
I think my favorite unused Transformer design was TF2 Overload’s original design where he has 4 arms and 4 legs. It would’ve made an absolutely awesome main villain design, it could’ve been an awesome and fearsome villain on par with IDW Overlord, instead of being either unused or reworked and shoved into the background.
Whoa whoa whoa! What "G1" fans dont like Beast Wars?!? I love Beast Wars and I'm the biggest G1 fanboy I know. I love the connections in Beast Wars to the G1 era. Beast Wars is the true sequel to G1, and Optimus Primal is a great prime!
I'm a G1 fan and I don't know why they didn't pick it it looks pretty good better than the one in the movie actually Michael Bay probably wanted some extra nonsense in there though.
@@waterh2o299 Micheal Bay is the one who suggested that design, it was Travis who threw it in the trash because he wanted nostalgia bait over creative designs.
No no. They made a homage to G1. If you watch the first episode, you can see, that cybertron prime and earth prime have the same robot mode. That's why it's correct in the bumblebee movie.
@@zerogo9669 That was done as a cost cutting measure, because the G1 show was a crappy, cheap, cartoon from the 80's. It doesn't make sense for a transformer to look like they transform into an Earth vehicle without ever having known of earth before. Just because the G1 cartoon did it, doesn't mean it was good.
I still wish till this day that Arcee made it into Transformers 1. Her design was cool and she had actual legs. The fact that they had already made her toy truly stung for me. The blasphemy of female characters in the movie series after that just made it worse. The cost of having a non-fan direct the film. Thankfully Travis Knight came in and righted the ship somewhat and gave us an epic Cybertron scene with great character models. Arcee looks fantastic in that scene and I hope a studio series figure comes along. Bumblebee 2 is going to be hype.
Bay didn't like the design because it was too feminine, and at the time it was a one movie thing, and the transformers were sexless beings. The ROTF designs were still distinct, but were also respectable in their own right. Transformers have never needed to be strictly humanoid, they're aliens for fucks sake, and it's not like they're that way without purpose. With the wheeled mono legs, the Arcee sisters are the fastest Autobots, able to keep up with speeding Decepoticons to slow them down. Bay simply didn't grow up with transformers, but he constantly proves that he did his research, into more than 1 area of the franchise. And thing is he did care, he's the guy who pushed to get Bumblebee's and Ratchet's names back for the first film. The designs took inspiration from other corners of the franchise, other shows and comics, even going in deep in some aspects. Such as Ironhide having his Diaclone colour scheme, while turning into a truck like his 2001 RiD spychanger toy. Bay wanted the movie to be a film for more than geewunners, and so when they retaliated he called them out. "Yup, Ironhide has definitely never been a truck before. Oh no, there's never been a yellow kid character turning into a sports car either. Megatron as a spacejet? Yup, all definitely unique, what a hack I am for sure. Man I must hate this franchise so much, despite how much I clearly love working on these movies, and how personally I work with the technical department, and how I pushed to make sure the transformers looked so fucking real." I find it hillarious when people say that Travis did it better, because the fuckhead didn't. The Cybertron scenes are so painfully obvious nostalgia bait, I mean the fucking second one doesn't make any sense in the movie at all. Bumblebee has a flashback to when he was out of Cybertron's orbit, but the shot immediately cuts to Optimus and Soundwave. That's not how a fucking flashback works. Oh better shove the plot of the movie back all the way to the end so the main things on screen are constant nostalgic 80's references. Like Jesus fuck, the camera almost focused more of the thrift store garbage they picked up for movie props than the actual fucking characters.
My favourite concept for Optimus Prime was his G1 design as it will make the Bumblebee film to see at the movie theatres the most as everyone are a big fan of the 1980s animated show & movie. And as for me, I would like to see him in his Cybertron form concept before he scan a G1 style truck, but I kind of like in his appearance with G1 truck parts as that would be excellent for the movie. Another concept is that snake transformer as that not only it looks so awesome, but scary. And it would be also awesome when this snake transformer to be in the planed Beasts Wars movie as I like to see it transformed into robot form.
Might sound ridiculous but i almost cried everytimewhenever i reached that optimud vs mega tron scene in dot m the game cause it was so epic. Who else feels the same ?
YOO So whenever I saw you comment on someone else's video I was like "this guy looks familiar.. but from where?" BUT THIS must be it! I loved this video, cant wait to watch your other transformer videos AGAIN
In the classics comics, Breakaway was one of the five transformers that combined into Nexus Prime, one of the Thirteen and the progenitor to all combiners. If he had showed up in the same film as The Fallen fans would have gone crazy with fan theories.
Actually BB movie Optimus Prime did have a cybertron mode and an earth mode. Cybertron mode is featured in all the cybertron scenes and earth mode was that short clip of him reuniting with BB at the end of the movie. The differences are subtle, but present nonetheless. Earth mode has slightly curved smoke stacks, earth mode’s wheel hubcaps don’t have the red lines on them, and earth mode has the windshield wipers on the chest.
IMO some of the unused concept art looks better than the finished product . Because they give the decepticons and autobots more personality through looks.
Kinda tying into your idea of water-based transformers. I wished they would possibly bring Thunderblast and Tidal Wave from the Cybertron cartoon trilogy. I picture Thunderblast being a speed boat. A crazy looking fast boat, basically. But I also think she could be a transformer with multiple forms idk why but I just imagine her transformering from a boat to a Honda Civic Type R lmao. So we can give her action outside water. Then for Tidal Wave. This is a bit out there... so just stay with me for a second. I think of him landing or whatever in the Pacific ocean around the site of the sunken Yamato from WW2. I think of this because the Yamato was the biggest battleship in the history of humanity. I just imagine this massive robot scanning the wreck and also using images from the internet to complete the build. He could also transform slightly and make the guns more cybertronian instead of old fashion guns from the 40s. He would just be such a beast to watch. Im curious if anybody likes or dislikes these ideas.
It is sad that we didn’t get the Optimus cybertron mode, but if you look closely, his wheels are cybertronian. I like to think he transforms into the same kind of truck, but the actual cabin isn’t hollow, and the wheels are cybertronian.
FWIW In the G1 cartoon, Optimus' pre-Earth robot form still reflected his earth vehicle alt mode. And in Bumblebee, the seekers' robot modes looked about the same as Blitzwing's, even though he had an earth vehicle mode and they did not.

Why would they need Dropkick and Shatter if they reverse engineer microchip, lasers, cars, and space flight based on NBE1?
The fact that optimus have an earth form is logical! Lockdawn says at some point that optimus and the knights have gone mising, and for prime to know that earth is safe for the autobots he must have been there before
