This is just fabulous. Thank you. I’ve paid for tutorials that gave me far less information. Your teaching style is so down to earth, it’s like sharing with a best friend. Don’t change!
On one hand, I think you're missing a lot of financial gain by making these videos public and free, but on the other, I am so thankful and have learned so much from you. Thank you for putting the time and effort to make these videos for us!
I've been doing this for years, I'm a dab hand at PS, but you've shown me a few tricks that have improved my work flow in the time it took to watch your video...twice.. thanks
I almost didn't bother watching this part 2 video thinking I already have a post process that I like, but I'm so glad I did. Great content. A few things I already know, or at least do something similar, but some things I'd not done or thought of before that I will have a play with. I love the results, too. Thank you.
Just watched this one a second time through. Would definitely love to see more editing videos, even going over the same type of photo with different models etc. So helpful. Thank you for this!
My personal method for remembering the subject's selection is to show them the set, and when they have their pick, i just click the lock button for that image. After taking out the photos from the card, I enable the Attributes column in Windows Explorer. Then you will see two values, "A" and "RA". The locked photos (which are the selected photos) have the "RA" value. All I do after that is to separate those RA photos in a different folder then import to software.
Thank you so much Sean, I watched your video on lighting set up for corporate portraits, which was very helpful on my first job to shoot portraits, and now I am back to your video to see your editing.
You are great! Thanks Sean. All the information straight to the point, no useless mambo jambo advices from a chit-chat talker photographer. Keep up this great tutorials !
This is not only exactly what I needed today but such an outstanding and quick tutorial on that subject. Speed and information is balanced so well here. Thank you so much for this, Sean!
Thanks Sean! I keep coming to this video to edit my amateur portraits and it's amazing to see someone share his knowledge so openly! I think it's great how you approach all your topics from a deep meaningful perspective.-
I can't thank you enough for this video and the accompanying first half. It has really simplified things for me and helped achieve the results I was after.
Fantastic tips Sean thank you. PS intimidates me at times but I’m very comfortable with LR. This tutorial helped me have a better understanding of a PS workflow. Very useful thank you
I have been shooting and editing headshots since 2007 and this is one of the most useful videos I have ever seen on the retouching process. And to think I've been using the clone tool to remove shirt bulges this entire time. You have a new subscriber. Can't wait to watch more of your vids.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this tutorial. I’m exactly in the same situation as your example, taking picture of employees of a company. It’s always difficult to get a pure background all across in a small area. This quick edit of yours is just what I needed.
OMG. Only 3 minutes in and I so wish I had watched this a few years ago. Only rarely do en-mass (corp) portraiture, but even the first couple of tips would have saved me a lot of time.
Excellent video as always. Informative, to the point, not self indulgent, no hidden agenda and most importantly, very useful. There's a lot of so called photography experts on UA-cam spewing out tripe. But not you sir. Superb content.
I've followed your channel for a little under a year now and I really love both the art you capture and the way you talk about it. Today I stumbled upon your posts on unlearning. I hadn't ever realized you were a Christian and it's a really exciting discovery because I hadn't before found a photographer who's work I really love and who shares my faith. Is there any chance you would make a video talking about your faith?
Sean thank you so much! I really like the basic and natural look you go for this helped me so much! Thank you for sharing your knowledge for free! You are the man!
Thanks Sean! This is gold dust. I've watched umpteen tutorials on YT - but this stands out as it deals with a practical real world example of a body of work. I watched part 1 as well - both parts excellent.
Sean, thank you for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge. I really appreciate your direct approach and simplistic explanations for what and why you do certain things. Your videos are extremely easy to follow. Many blessings to you.
Great video! I modified the your technique in my workflow. I use select subject and then introduce the white background. I don’t have to erase. Thanks again!
Hi Sean, Thanks for your tuto. Just a quick tip it's possible to batch whiteground with the new selection tool "subject" I recently batch around 100 portraits. Pretty cool ;)
wow! I saw the other day a skillshare video which was actually WORSE than your quick tutorial. Thank you so much Sean. Learned so much from your short video. Thumbs Up and Subscribed
Thank you for this excellent and clear tutorial. I am curious about what you do for an older group. I live in Florida and just finished doing headshots for an investment company. The women, of course, are a little insecure about their age showing, but at the same time, they understand its a professional headshot and they don't want me to turn them into plastic in photoshop. I am curious how you approach shooting an older audience. (I tend to light on the bright side with fewer shadows.)
Yeah I think that’s a good way to go. Fill the shadows if people are insecure about their age. It will render a flatter, more boring image, but you’ll fill in imperfections and they’ll probably thank you for it:)
Wow! I am so impressed with how talented you are, this video is so so helpful and you are so clear and I actually understand it ( I am not good with photoshop) Thank you so much for this!
Hi Sean! Just found your Chanel and I know this is cliche but I am so incredibly inspired by your originality, honestly, and your creativity! Your sincere and real and your wonderfully talented. Your videos are fantastic. Well done!
Another awesome video, Sean. Thanks for this. I would really enjoy a more detailed tutorial, with an in-depth explanation of the Photoshop process used here.
Phenomenal video. Thanks for keeping it real. I myself am done with the Portrait Pro fad where people's heads are baked to the point of mannequin head syndrome. Love, love this tutorial. Thanks.
It's so refreshing to see an actual professional tutorial and not hearing all the "and ummm and like ummmm"
Thank you Sean
OH MY goodness those were my first thoughts exactly.
This is just fabulous. Thank you. I’ve paid for tutorials that gave me far less information. Your teaching style is so down to earth, it’s like sharing with a best friend. Don’t change!
This is the type of instruction that I enjoy... its fast paced and no nonsense. Lots of good techniques covered. I’ve subscribed.
Thanks Joe. Welcome.
You're so good at explaining what you're doing.
Your whitening background technique is going to save me hours. Much appreciated!
After watch both episode, I would say the post production work is HUGE!!
On one hand, I think you're missing a lot of financial gain by making these videos public and free, but on the other, I am so thankful and have learned so much from you. Thank you for putting the time and effort to make these videos for us!
One of the biggest tips, and perhaps the simplest that I picked up from this, was having the client photographed with their choice. Thanks!
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen in a long time 👍
Sean, you are a huge catalyst toward my growth. Thank you very much for all your many insights, and sharing your meaningful journey.
I've been doing this for years, I'm a dab hand at PS, but you've shown me a few tricks that have improved my work flow in the time it took to watch your video...twice..
thanks
The trick with clients holding up a card with shot number is pure genius. Goint to try that on my next shoot, tnx for another brilliant vid.
OMG you're just straight to the point and clear and practical. So refreshing and so useful.
Awesome information but it was alot more than i expected for a simple retouch.
.....That...is...a simple retouch, lol.
You're a genius! Thanks for sharing your process.. these are very expensive skills
You nailed it once again. That "bg whitening trick" is new and a real time saver. Thanks for another great tut.
I almost didn't bother watching this part 2 video thinking I already have a post process that I like, but I'm so glad I did. Great content. You are such a rockstar. Some of these techniques I have used in my workflow, but others I was using incorrectly. Thank you for everything you do.

You are literally the “Boss Ross” of photography on UA-cam. Your voice is so soothing 😂 Love your videos 👌🏾
Excellent tutorial here. Your retouching technique blew me away.
I wish the UA-cam algorithm had showed me your channel before now. Great tutorials that give a full scope of everything people need to know.
Thank you so much Sean, I watched your video on lighting set up for corporate portraits, which was very helpful on my first job to shoot portraits, and now I am back to your video to see your editing.
Superb tutorial - fast but nothing that can't be unpicked in playback. Many thanks, Sean.
Thanks for the kind words mate. Glad it helped
Thank you for this, Sean! Fine tuning subject masks for white backgrounds takes way too much time. This method is quick and effective. Brilliant!

I think it's great how you approach all your topics from a deep meaningful perspective.-
Thank you. Great content without fillers. Love your method and much appreciated learning new techniques.
Very minimal, effective and less time consuming style of editing headshots. Loved it!
I can't thank you enough for this video and the accompanying first half. It has really simplified things for me and helped achieve the results I was after.
Wonderful! This is again a great tutorial/introduction to see how an actual professional photographer work. Kudos!
Fantastic tips Sean thank you. PS intimidates me at times but I’m very comfortable with LR. This tutorial helped me have a better understanding of a PS workflow. Very useful thank you
Another great video, and agree, good to see a pro in action. Not pontificating, just getting on and doing.
EXCELLENCE! Thank you kindly... Especially for the workflow pointers and time management emphasis...

Had my first corporate shoot today and used both of your video's to pick up some tips. great stuff, really helpful !
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this tutorial. I’m exactly in the same situation as your example, taking picture of employees of a company. It’s always difficult to get a pure background all across in a small area. This quick edit of yours is just what I needed.
