You make this and think your good to go, then later when you need it.... surprise. My lesson is to do two of these, MBR and GPT since I'm working on a computer that is down and I can't see the partition scheme.

I tried this on a 16GB SanDisk pendrive... no luck. I can see the drive attached in my BIOS, I can read the data from it once Windows is loaded but it's not seen as a bootable device. All my disks are MBR so I followed your instructions to use the MBR partition scheme. Any ideas how to fix this?
Nevermind. On my 2nd try I also checked the checkboxes "Add fixes for old BIOSes (extra partition, align, etc)" and "Use Rufus MBR with BIOS ID". It worked both on a 500GB external HD as on the previously problematic SanDisk pendrive. Neither would work with the Windows Media Creation Tool. So thanks and thumbs up for the video.

u should not use a usb with a bootable or installation file to store personal files as it could corrupt both the personal and installation files

@@jakke1975 Factory default "MBR" data loss, become non-bootable media but still works as storage media.

Check the BIOS under boot menu
You can normally format your flash to set it back to normal.
