Seriously. Who knows what other amazing creations we're missing out on due to shitty parents tearing their kids down or holding them back instead of being like Amir's dad.
Transistor and Pyre docs coming early 2020, along with the latest episode of Hades: Developing Hell. (shout out to our friends at Giant Bomb for the "Building The Bastion" footage) Happy holidays folks. Our Outer Wilds doc lands next week.👍
No exaggeration the part with rescuing/forgiving Zulf made me a more sympathetic person, one of the most emotional moments I've ever had playing video games
That moment was so well writen. Woving the narrative with gameplay in such an elegant way that seriously made me cry while playing. That, in my opinion, changed the game from being a great game to a masterpiece!
I actually changed my mind about Zulf before the ending, when going in to his "dream" arena instance and understanding the reason for his fit of rage as well as how he was first found by the Kid there gazing agape at the sky.
I finally met the narrator of Bastion! I always loved his voice. He brought life to Bastion and stories told by him has a solemn gravitas to it. Meeting my favorite developers in this video has been amazing. The art provided by Jenn is fantastic. The use of color and isometric environment she had lend an extra layer of culture to the worlds. Art in superiant games provide a story. Enemies by her has an authentic yet exotic feeling to it.
Once, I was trying to console my girlfriend (I forget for what) and, at a loss for what else to do, I just started humming Build That Wall. She hasn't played or seen Bastion, but she still knows that song and asks me to sing it for her every once in a while nearly 10 years later. So...thanks, Supergiant. You guys are incredible.
There's a reason Supergiant are my all-time favorite devs. It's not because their games are amazing (they are, of course they are), it's because you can tell how much of themselves all the wonderful people there put into every single project. They put everything they have into everything they do, and you can see it and you can hear it and you can feel it in every one of their games.
I am glad that they are doing fine . I don't know way i thought they went under after Transistor , i thought that the game was not recieved too good. Anyway i played Bastion , enjoyed it very much and i played some of Transistor , sadly i couldn't finish it bc of some stupid error . Over all i really enjoyed them , Bastion is my favorite so far . How are the other games ?
I wish to offer my sincere congratulations to Amir Rao for finally having implemented a farming system in Hades 2. It took over a decade but you got it!
I remember watching someone, probably TotalBiscuit making a vid on it when it released, immediately bought it on xbox, and lost myself in it. When I stopped playing on consoles, I bought it again on steam. Still have the OST on my phone and listen to it from time to time.
I remember this game having one of the first soundtracks that I would have on every electronic device that could play music. When I first heard A Proper Story I had the volume up way high and was wearing my over ear studio headphones, it felt like the bass actually vibrated my teeth a bit when it kicked in, hahaha. I still hum Build That Wall from time to time.
Woke up this morning and I was thinking about supergiant games and how I LOVE LOVE LOVE their games, I have them all. Bastion was the first one I ever got and I was so in love with it. When they released Resistor, I bought the game not realizing I didn't have the graphic card specs to run it on my potato computer at the time, so I bought a graphics card just so I can play it. This morning, I woke up wondering how they came to be a gaming company and jokingly searched in UA-cam to look it up and this video is everything I was curious about. I didn't even think someone would be making documentaries like this - instantly subscribed to you Noclip, great job. Moving on to the untold story for the Transistor game now.

Bastion was the 1st indie game I ever played and it was ironically at a time when I was much, much younger and didn't think highly of indie titles, or at least the idea of playing anything but AAA/AA to me was absurd. Everyone was talking about it and I still didn't want to try it. Thanks for this documentary; I absolutely adore Bastion. It's one of the very few games that I almost religiously gift to people when I find out they haven't played it yet. It's just a perfect storm to me of amazing atmosphere, solid gameplay, breathtaking music and outstanding visuals. I still vividly remember the first time I carried Zulf through the Ura camp while "Setting Sail, Coming Home" started playing and I began weeping during it. The only game in recent memory to do this is NieR:Automata's ending with "Weight of the World" during the E ending. When I look back I'm pretty sure it was Supergiant and Bastion that broke me for most AAA games and I started to mass consume smaller indie titles for which I regret nothing.
I still remember the moment when I opened Bastion on my computer for the first time. I remember the table I was sitting at in my home. I just sat with the opening screen for a few minutes because that intro music was so good. I know many games have excited me over the years, but none were nearly as memorable

So much respect to the artist and programmers for this game, plus the story and general design is such a joy to play. Great job guys.
Bastion was the game that made me realize video games can be art; a medium that can make you feel something, like movies and books and fine art. An absolutely incredible experience, and I have followed SuperGiant ever since. Truly an incredible experience.
One of my favourite games of all time. It's just so fulfilling. One of my favourite studios of all time. Glad to see when talent and hard work pays off.
Thank you for the christmas present ! I am a young french journalist and your work give me inspiration to make press article as good as your work in video games ! That said, If you have a moment I will be honored to talk to you and maybe to do an interview of you and your team Danny
One of the most surprising games I've ever played before. I've picked it up originally as something to pass the time. Didn't know the storm of emotions that would surface coming my way. I'm sorry i played a pirated copy of this game. Years later, i purchased it with it's soundtrack on steam. I just turn off my brain and buy and play games released by Supergiant ever since. It's always a no-regrets experience. Thank you for this vid!
It’s in my Top 10 games ever played and remains the only game to date where I was so invested, that I actually paused the game and pondered for over ten minutes, before finishing it. It definitely made an impact. I can also recommend their prints, got some for Bastion and some of Red. 😊
I really love your games, the narrative, the music, game design and all. After finishing Bastion I was expecting this huge list of people that had made it and was awestruck at how small your team actually had been. The quality of the game is, in my opinion, triple A in so many ways.
Bastion was Korb's first game scoring? Wow, the music is incredible. Thanks for this doc, loved the game when it came out, just started playing Hades now.
Gotta admire how they did it on their own terms and created something truly legendary. Almost a decade and you can still count the games who've come anywhere close to it on one hand and have fingers to spare.
shoutout to the dad for believing in his son, supporting him, and giving him good advice

One of my favourite games of all time. It's just so fulfilling. One of my favourite studios of all time. Glad to see when talent and hard work pays off.
Just watched it in full. Bravo!
Such a unique and enthralling game. The narrarator is iconic!
Thank you for the christmas present ! I am a young french journalist and your work give me inspiration to make press article as good as your work in video games ! That said, If you have a moment I will be honored to talk to you and maybe to do an interview of you and your team Danny
Bastion immediately became and will forever remain one of my favorite games of all time.
Also, shoutouts to Deadwood! Nice! Incredible show.
Such a badass team of talented folks. Great documentary!
I think this might be the most beautiful game, or anything, every made. Watching this made me cry it's so beautiful. I love Supergiant!
When a gaming company creates with passion as a main focus, as apposed to profit.
I really love your games, the narrative, the music, game design and all. After finishing Bastion I was expecting this huge list of people that had made it and was awestruck at how small your team actually had been. The quality of the game is, in my opinion, triple A in so many ways.
I recognised Greg instantly from his days in Gamespot. Sheesh, that was a long time ago - he has done a lot since then!
This was amazing. Can't wait for the Transistor one.

Bastion was Korb's first game scoring? Wow, the music is incredible. Thanks for this doc, loved the game when it came out, just started playing Hades now.
Supergiant has the best UI animations I have ever seen.
Gotta admire how they did it on their own terms and created something truly legendary. Almost a decade and you can still count the games who've come anywhere close to it on one hand and have fingers to spare.
I grew up watching Greg's reviews on GameSpot
One of the most beautiful games to see and hear and play. Thanks for making this.
