- This is a music video tribute I've made for arguably the most complex and tragic figure in cinema, Michael Corleone of the Godfather Saga, as played by the brilliant Al Pacino. This video serves as a character study/essay that follows Michael's descent into evil and his last attempts at redemption. Set to "Monster" by Imagine Dragons. Enjoy!

I love the timing of the lyrics with the scenes. Especially "I never said that I want this" at the part where Vito tells Michael "I never wanted this for you."
Word-for-word, this song feels like Michael's exact thoughts. Especially bits like "Everything I touch isn't dark enough."

He turned himself into a savage animal to protect Kay so what happened in Sicily wouldn't happen to a woman he actually loved. Especially after his father gave him advice " Women and children can be careless men can not "
He became serious, vigilant emotionally stable. That is how you behave when you run a family in the underground with serious intentions to keep them alive.
Watched The Offer and rewatched The Godfather and thought about this video. This video has lived rent free in my head for 8 years.

Michael is on Shakespearean levels of complexity. It's really tragic to see him go from a good person to an ice cold mob boss. In Part 1 he still feels like a dark hero - he kills people who really had it coming. But killing his own brother was crossing the line - it haunts him even decades later. Part 3 had it problems but Michael's breakdown in the confession scene gets me every time. I just wish we could've had what they originally planned, Tom Hagen as his final rival. It would have been the ultimate tragedy to see them come to that. They'd probably both end up dead. (Did anyone ever write this as a fic?)
Its a pity that Robert Duvall wasnt in part 3 . But it was Francist fault that he didnt offered him enough money
CaiusCassiusLonginus excuse me killing his own brother blah blah blah. The brother that betrayed him and the entire family that broke his heart and he said so. You do not understand the commitment of the character or the level of commitment he likewise expects of others especially his family. You are not worthy of this masterpiece of cinema just saying.

michael corleone best movie charather ever, and this song explains perfectly, how he went from been an ordinary person to a real monster, he might be in anti-hero cause he only did harm to who was in his way, but still he did what all the other don's didn't do, thats take everyone out, in part 3 is more like connie turn into a monster and mike chilled out, as a matter of fact when they took out joey sasa he was against it, if it would of been in the first 2 movies he would of ordered those hits, but from halfway in part 1 and all part 2 he was a monster.
IRON BLACK SABBATH MAIDEN he was never a monster he did this out of sher love for his father and what was right at the time
