Swimmer right now, but might coach a summer league soon. And same here, i use his vids leading up to my meets and i show my siblings (also swimmers) and breaststroker teammates. Everyone loves it!
The great thing about swimming is that no matter how long you've been at it, you still learn new things. I didn't realize I wasn't rolling enough on open turns, thanks for the tip Cody!
Hey Cody, you know what would be a great idea. If you would fly out to Sectionals from March 27-30 in Austin Texas. You could come cheer on the swimmers, or maybe compete for fun.
I was actually at that meet in Quebec! I remember it being the first time I was at a comp with Olympians. I actually still might have a heat sheet from it.
I have used Form & Finis smart goggles. Both have pros and cons. The tech / HUD of the Form is very good! But the goggles are only OK & the computer is completely integrated so when you want to replace the goggles. You have to buy a whole expensive set again. Finis, The tech / HUD is not as great, but the goggles are better and you can replace just goggles cheap as the computer is removable. They’re cool tech and can be used as a personal coach type device, integrated to apps for tracking history, etc. I basically use it as a cool fancy lap tracker.😂
The speed of the turn is directly proportional to how hard you pull your legs in. The snap of the legs is the speed of the turn, do it right, you'll notice that your arms do very little. If you are using your arms to turn, you're not doing it right.
Hi Cody. Our pool deck is water surface level and the kids always grab the "ledge" on their turn rather than a touch and go (I like to say like setting a volleyball and that at higher level meets, the wall is a touch pad).. Do you think it's a big deal or no?
I'm a middle school swim coach and I use your videos all the time to explain things to them. They really like the paddles for breaststroke too.

Those tips were gold. And your enthusiasm and good attitude throughout every video you make always keeps me watching to the end. Thanks!
I have two kids (11 n 14 yrs) who swim every day and we watch all your videos together. Thank you for the teachings,
Great lesson learned! Thanks Cody.
Hey, Cody!
My friends and I broke the school record for the 200 medley relay this past weekend 💪
I did breaststroke 😎

I’m a swimmer, are you going to go to the tyr pro series meets still?

Flip turns can be tricky . Sometimes I get too close to the wall (free style )
Cody have you ever hit a wall or plateaued? How did you overcome it?
Swim everyday 20x50m Dolphin 🐬
The pool is meters or yards?
yards
Godsend! Now I can stop looking like a holiday swimmer at the turns...
