I remember (Fire Commissioner) Ed Thompson who was also a Judge for years. He and his wife Doris were very friendly with my Grandparents and I remember time spent with the Thompsons and their kids with much fondness....it was so nice to see and hear Judge Thompson in his prime. Thank you
I would have had to be disqualified with Dee O’Hara. About 50 years ago my parents gave a book written by Dee O Hara about her experiences as the nurse with NASA, and I recognised her when they said what her job was. I also think there was a photograph of her injecting an orange. I am wondering if the book was written shortly after this appearance.
Betty White Is 98 - and She's Not Slowing Down Anytime Soon. ... Betty boasts an impressing 117 credits and currently holds the Guiness World Record for the longest career in entertainment, but she's best known for her roles as Rose Nylund in Golden Girls and Sue Ann Nivens in The Mary Tyler Moore Show Betty White; 40 on this episode and 98 today (and she hasn't changed a bit)
Me neither. Ive got a ‘self cleaning’ oven, but I’ve tried sneaking up on it several times and never once found it doing anything. Think I’ve been conned!
@@keithnaylor1981 l have an older self cleaning oven and the last time l used the self cleaning feature it didn't work. Tom Poston was so handsome! He has a bit the same look as the lead singer of Dire Straits. And look how cute Betty was as a young lady! Little did she know, she had another 70 years of life ahead! She was just a child here! Johnny always looked the same!
Round 3, the matador can't be #2 bc the running of the bulls is not done in Sevilla, it's Pamplona on 7/7 each year, maybe with exception of 2020 during CoVid.

Betty White's reasoning in rounds 1 and 2 made no sense whatsoever. She claimed that a liar would not look the panel in the eye, but she went ahead and voted for *two* such contestants anyway. Crazy.
In the second round, it was obvious it was #1 after #s 2 and 3 blew the metabolism question. And bullfighting should be illegal IN ALL COUNTRIES. What a horrible, cruel "profession".
Whenever a panelist disqualify him- or herself, it counts as an automatic wrong answer for the $250 prize. Otherwise, it would disadvantage the contestants--they'd lose out on prize money whenever a panelist knew one of the contestants.
She sure did or else she wouldn't have been there, however the other Eliza, Julie Andrews was the best known. Audrey Hepburn didn't do her own singing even though she could have.🎈🎈

@@bryanspindle4455 I am sure. Some people talk about people in their 90s smoking and still alive. Makes me wonder about both their quality of life and how long they would have lived without them.
We know today but back then they didn't. Drs used to tell pregnant women to smoke to keep their weight down during pregnancy. My mom smoked with all 6 of us kids!
Foam? Where is a "housewife" going to get foam ? How about salt or anything but water unless all you have is water then it needs to be a fine spray. Foam ....wtf

If my memory serves me correct, Dee O'Hara remained nurse to NASA's astronauts well into the space shuttle era.
The first space shuttle, STS-1, was her last NASA assignment.
Betty White is a huge animal rights activist. I'm sure she was not pleased with the bullfighting segment.
This program was broadcast 20 days after John Glenn's pioneering orbital flight and wad taped some days prior to that.
A few days after this episode aired, Deke Slayton was yanked from the second Mercury orbital flight and replaced by Scott Carpenter

I'm gonna have to pick up some of that Easy-Off. It really works!
The chemicals in Easy Off are deadly and get onto food cooked in that oven later
Betty White was so gracious.
I picked #1 as the nurse based on her hair style - looks GI.
Loved the commercials back in the day when smoking was considered "refreshing". What propaganda. Great to hear Johnny Olsen.
Correct names are Margot Moser (b. 1930) and Edward Thompson (1913-1995).
Easy Off Oven Cleaner!

2&3 were eliminated in my opinion when they couldn’t define metabolism.
Betty White is a great replacement for Polly Bergen! She's direct, not distracting, and she's good!
I always wanted to punch Polly in the face. She was insufferable

Yes, that disqualified him, but I picked wrong and chose #1 who looked like a bullfighter. I'm surprised the panel was not aware of Pamplona.
I think it's hilarious Betty still called him "number 2" even after learning he was Commissioner Townsend.
i love betty she’s so funny without even being funny😅
Wow Dristan cures everything. Spring, fresh air and fresh cigarettes.
Budinski didn't walk in , he didn't wave , he didn't blow a kiss , he was just sitting there , and nodded his head down !!!!
So
Thoug shall not fear God bless 🙏 Bud pray 🙏 🙌 ❤ ♥ 💙 💖 🙏
#1 of the fire commissioner sounds a lot like bennett cerf from what's my line
Margot's wonky, crooked necklace was distracting.
Yep, but from the neck up very attractive!
Man #2 in Game #1
Lady #1 in Game #2
Man #3 in Game #3

Big beak Bob Collyer

A bald person named Barnaby Conrad is just not the image I would associate with being a matador.

How did they figure that there were 4 incorrect answers when Tom Poston disqualified himself?

Why is budinski always trying to be "one up" on everyone !!!!????

Disgusting lies about cigarettes.
I have a couple of 1930s magazines with cigarette ads claiming smoking was good for you.
