My unit's information is in the video description. If you don't like the more structured, realistic, "role play" type environment of a realism unit, there are also many more laid back ArmA units.
Hit the "More ArmA" button. It brings you to my ArmA playlist. The Arma 2 gameplay - USMC Mounted Assault and Gambler 1-1 Search and Destroy Weapons Cache - Arma 2 OA gameplay (Let's Play Co-op/Coop) are both recent and very good/exciting.
You can go to the 15thmeu website in the video description and click on the "organization" tab. Much more information there than I can give you in 400 characters or less.
That volley of fire at 6 minutes, followed by the airstrike! Priceless!! Just shows what an organized group can accomplish if they work together. Nice job!
I recently disbanded from the military, and this video put a whole different perspective to what I was doing. I didn't agree with much of what was done, which is why I left, but I didn't hate my job, and I don't regret what I did. That being said, I wouldn't mind re-enacting some of the missions we did, MOS 68W Combat Medic, veteran rank of Corporal, 2 tours OIF 2008 and OEF 2012. Thanks, and great video.
That's a good way to put it. ArmA is not an FPS and doesn't play like one. The demo is free, however, so I recommend you try the ArmA 2 OA demo and decide for yourself whether or not you think you'd like it.
I've wanted thisgame for a verz long time, but never had the money for a PC. After seeing 5:45 I literallz got on amayon and built a computer. Bought and shipped. Thanks Jester for the motivation.
It's Combined Ops. Meaning Vanilla with the OA Expansion. The link to my arma unit is in the video description. Hope to see you on the battlefield soon.
Has your unit ever fought against an equally organized group of human opponents? Or is it AI typically? I think it'd be extremely interesting to witness you matched up with human OPFOR, especially if they weren't as well equipped, just to witness how the events would play out.
In a realism unit, yes we stay in character and use proper military comms. I'm in command of one platoon of vMarine Riflemen. 100% full a platoon is 39 marines. That's just my platoon. It's not counting the command, corpsmen, tankers, pilots, AAV crew, etc. Operations are orginazed in stages somewhat realistically. We usually have 2-3 planning meetings going over the entire operation and outlining what each section will be doing and if any section will be reinforcing another, etc.
I'm loving these ArmA 2 videos. I have a question, though. Do you guys ever do versus rounds where two groups of you play against each other? I think that would be really interesting. :P
This looks real good. Awesome communication skills. It would take me awhile to figure everything out. I used to play the first ghost recon like this. The last call of duty really turned me off. This is the realism Im looking for. Im going to buy the whole arma2 complete collection. 20 bucks is a deal. Maybe I should just do Arma 3 alpha. Great job cant wait to play.
I subbed and started watching all of your DayZ vids then stumbled on these. I really like the realism. Do you have any more like this that you would recommend?
Two questions: 1. Is this PvP or PvAI? 2. Is this a custom mission or one made/based on a downloaded mission? Great teamwork by the way and a lot of action :)
I have thought of similar ways of setting up MP games like that as well. Either your suggestion or in addition having each group of OPFOR AI being led by a human player. I feel like it would greatly increase the effectiveness of the opposition, but not so much that it would put them on the same level of an all human combat group. Do your missions utilize pre-placed waypoints or do you use something like Rydygier's HAC commander?
some good fast air fireworks & some shitty AH crew work there mate. would love to watch the full unedited verson of this mission. one little thing thou, ur constant use of thermals made my eyes go strange (lol) with the constant white flashes i had
Unfortunately no :( We have a lot of British members and since our operations are on Sunday Evenings(American Time) they're late night Sunday for EU members.
It's not a question of whether or not the game is good; it's a question of do you enjoy combat simulation or not. For the note most first person shooters are NOT combat simulators.
We don't train to fight human opponents, so we'd be largely ineffective against them. It's not our goal or desire. Some of our members do unofficial pvp, but ArmA is not well suited to it, and I don't like playing in first person, which most PvP requires. What I would like, and I have proposed several times, is for OpFor to be lead by a human commander. I've even volunteered for it. I would directly control a squad of about 20 AI, then use high command to control most of the OpFor forces.
I see how it is you see me leaking like a submarine screen door and you see brando and decided you'd rather pat his chest.....then i got kidnapped lol =D
Just a question for you Jester but do you guys take vets and enthusiasts from other countries because I am an equivelent JROTC in Canada and I would love to join you guys when I get a good enough computer
How can we get involved in this sort of thing? I'm sure there are a lot of viewers who really enjoy playing strategically like this... I haven't got the game yet personally, but are there clans and stuff that recruit players to do this sort of gameplay?
This is really awesome, but I don't understand what is happening? Are you guys part of an RP community? Are you fighting against AI or other players? Sorry for my ignorance, I just really want to get involved in something like this!
Because: It's a game We don't actually have a full platoon I don't even have a radio operator I'm not the platoon leader in this video What else would they be doing? The "realism" aspect only goes so far. Noone wants to sit in the back of a command vehicle operating radios looking at bluforcetracker for the two hours out of every other week we get to play.
What do i need to get into a game of this? tried re-installing/updating last night, even got the ACRE addon for TS (which doesn't work with the latest build of TS) and a load of other addons listed. Just can't get a game anywhere. Try to join and get insta kicked from the 4-5 servers with anyone playing :-(

A realism unit is essentially an RP unit, yes. We're fighting AI. Link to my particular unit is in the video description.

This is absolutely jaw-dropping. Keep this up, and bring the glory of military co-op to people everywhere.
That volley of fire at 6 minutes, followed by the airstrike! Priceless!! Just shows what an organized group can accomplish if they work together. Nice job!

I wish I had friends like this, to play this game like these guys. Would never see sunlight again.
I remember these videos like they were made hours ago😢the throwback videos of Arma🔥💯
Watching these is like watching a movie. It's great.
Jester, I'm impressed by your command skills and the discipline and cooperation shown by your Marines and Sailors. Subbed!
Dude this is awesome. Looks so fun. So many people too! Requires a lot of coordination and team work.
Top notch brother. Thanks for the civi-subtitles & the upload. F'n Tense.
That's a good way to put it. ArmA is not an FPS and doesn't play like one. The demo is free, however, so I recommend you try the ArmA 2 OA demo and decide for yourself whether or not you think you'd like it.
That Nightmare strike in the beginning was freaking awesome
I've wanted thisgame for a verz long time, but never had the money for a PC. After seeing 5:45 I literallz got on amayon and built a computer. Bought and shipped. Thanks Jester for the motivation.

Yes. Look at the bottom of the video description and you can see that treeline getting bombed from my perspective AND the pilot's perspective.
That was a fucking awesome engagement right there. Straight textbook.

After u said "taking the airfield was pretty fucking ninja," i will always think of u as Iceman Drumheller
I'm loving these ArmA 2 videos. I have a question, though. Do you guys ever do versus rounds where two groups of you play against each other? I think that would be really interesting. :P
talk about overwhelming firepower at 6:00
That was awesome, light 'em up.
subbed man, your videos are great. tactical realism.
Jester, you should make a short film of Arma because with the moments the 15th have are just fucking epic.
Thanks for the response good to know
Do you mean the clicking sound when I transmit? That's built into the voice-chat mod we use for ArmA called ACRE
I just want to acknowledge the fact that you are approximately 358 Jesters before of me.
Yes
The AAV holds a 3 man crew plus 25 in the back.
Yes the radio chat is real.
i love watching your vids they are always the best
haha I caught your Generation Kill quote! nice haha 15:53
THATS IS AWESOME ITS LIKE A WAR!!!! Bro you are like a pro at giving orders XD you are boss i am subscribing and liking :) !
This looks real good. Awesome communication skills. It would take me awhile to figure everything out. I used to play the first ghost recon like this. The last call of duty really turned me off. 05:40 that was awesome
dude, these vidz are awesome! thumbs up!
that flash bang made my head want to explode. damn head phones
Man i REALLY would love to do somthing like this with others
Thanks and good videos man
Thanks for keeping me alive....lol

Just a small critique. This is why the PL is with the maneuver element. 52:57.
some good fast air fireworks & some shitty AH crew work there mate. would love to watch the full unedited verson of this mission. one little thing thou, ur constant use of thermals made my eyes go strange (lol) with the constant white flashes i had
Dude nice job jester
Hmmm..... same for me. That's very odd.
Unfortunately no :( We have a lot of British members and since our operations are on Sunday Evenings(American Time) they're late night Sunday for EU members.
Were you the gunner in the AAV? :p
dued you guys rock ima get a gaming computor here in apirl we should play some time ?
No problem LCpl.
It's not a question of whether or not the game is good; it's a question of do you enjoy combat simulation or not. For the note most first person shooters are NOT combat simulators.
Holy shit the amount the guys in that apc at the start ! And is that radio chat thing between the actual players ?
filter for Insurgency, MSO, Domination, or ACE
The "Fog of War" was strong on this mission, if this was real life, there would have been a big fight on the ship between the fly boys and the Grunts.
being new just a quick question. within this group of players. How does say the role of command/general or whatever work?
Ok, thank you
It's the same game, so yes.
What do i have to do to join you guys its pretty cool what your doing here.
We don't train to fight human opponents, so we'd be largely ineffective against them. It's not our goal or desire. Some of our members do unofficial pvp, but ArmA is not well suited to it, and I don't like playing in first person, which most PvP requires.

Great video!
great vid...... iwas wondering if i could try out for your unit....and what console game do you recommend
UA-cam. Y U NO LET ME WATCH IN 1080p STRAIGHT AWAY?! I HAS TO W8?!!
wow that is amazing so realistic
I don't have Arma 2 but I'm getting it... so I don't know how this radio is different from normal- what does ACRE do exactly?
P.S- awesome vid.
It's working for me now... no idea.
I see how it is you see me leaking like a submarine screen door and you see brando and decided you'd rather pat his chest.....then i got kidnapped lol =D
Damn a lot friendly fire in this mission. What do you think he did after this to the squads.
I play arma 2 and battlfield 3 are the same but thay are AWSOME!
5:50 - The best goddamn moment.
Nope. We have humans control the opfor AI sometimes, and we've had a squad of opfor alongside the AI before. But it's not very often.
Just a question for you Jester but do you guys take vets and enthusiasts from other countries because I am an equivelent JROTC in Canada and I would love to join you guys when I get a good enough computer
and if you noticed which I'm sure you have if you watched the video, he cut out a lot of the parts in which nothing was happening so be grateful.
so cool you guys rock!
I was going to say if that contact survived that bombing at the beginning go back and get the kryptonite bullets. Wow.
Don't sweat it man. I don't think it's that important in the grand scheme of things.
so an ambush was your most intense moment in arma
When you're giving coordinates like at 09:50 how do you tell what line you're talking about?
How can we get involved in this sort of thing? I'm sure there are a lot of viewers who really enjoy playing strategically like this... I haven't got the game yet personally, but are there clans and stuff that recruit players to do this sort of gameplay?
Can someone please tell me how they have thermal on their binoculars!! I can't find anything on it
Oorah on that, Devil.
Also, what do you guys use for CH-46?
Yes everyone you hear is another player. All the US Marines you see are real players.
Id find a vid of you guys getting ambushed in a convoy and how you handled it. If you ahve one id appreciate the name of the vid
its a PC game and go look up 15th MEU SOC thats our page where you can sign up
Yeah this one is awesome
This is really awesome, but I don't understand what is happening? Are you guys part of an RP community? Are you fighting against AI or other players? Sorry for my ignorance, I just really want to get involved in something like this!
21:54 , I really like this moment :D
Because:
It's a game
We don't actually have a full platoon
I don't even have a radio operator
I'm not the platoon leader in this video
What else would they be doing? The "realism" aspect only goes so far. Noone wants to sit in the back of a command vehicle operating radios looking at bluforcetracker for the two hours out of every other week we get to play.
Wow! I got carried away, I thut I was watching a war documentary.
What do i need to get into a game of this? tried re-installing/updating last night, even got the ACRE addon for TS (which doesn't work with the latest build of TS) and a load of other addons listed. Just can't get a game anywhere. Try to join and get insta kicked from the 4-5 servers with anyone playing :-(
What would be funny if the callsign of the chopper that shot us was Nightmare.
how do you get the radio com-chatter effect when talking in-game?
So many noobs commenting please don't get this game you will be shit. I love your videos jester.
Good Video
Wait, you have to do a meeting before the mission? 1-3? For a game? Some serious stuff going on here.
Why can I not find any server like this on Arma OA? All I see in the server listing is dayz servers.
this game looks freacking awesome, is it too hard in the beginning?
how do you guys get so many people in your unit. tips and tricks?
