I'm very surprised people had negative things to say about this set. We bought ours from Home Depot about a month ago for about $2400, which included tax and pedestals. The pedestals were about $300 apiece, which I still think is crazily overpriced, but I will say that they raise the set up to a very comfortable level, which saves my back a lot of work. I also wanted a set that could handle big loads, especially our king-sized comforter. I was tired of hauling our comforter to the laundromat. The answer is yes, it easily handles oversized items, and the set does a beautiful job. I love how quiet the set is, as well - we hardly hear them. These sets do seem to have longer wash cycles, though, from my old set (a 1988 Kenmore) -- at least, I think. Average time seems to be about 1.5 hours on a regular cycle. Nothing has come out wringing wet or dirty. No leaks in the door. My husband is an appliance repairman and said with front-loaders, it's important to keep the washer door open between loads, so everything dries out and prevents mold of any kind. The dryer lint catcher is super-easy to clean out. I find the dryer occasionally needs a longer dry time, though, with items, especially heavier ones, like towels. Clothes, and especially towels, are sometimes still damp when they run through even a high-temp setting, so I run them through a "quick dry" cycle after the initial one and it finishes the load. That would be my only negative about this set: I think the dryer could use a little more oomph, but it's not a major issue. It's a pretty set, too. We're very happy with this washer and dryer.
You are absolutely right on. I bought this pair from Costco. Spent over $1,800 bucks. We had them only for 4 months and both machines have problems. Washer produced E1F4 error code on the display after just 3 times of use and machine was locked with bunch of laundry stock in it. I had to unplug it, waited 10 minutes and had to restart a new cycle, has happened already 4 times. Whirlpool Authorized Tech came in, diagnosed it and repluged one of the wires of heater components back, located in top par of the machine, fingers crossed no errors yet, we shall see. As far as dryer it started making exactly same noice that’s in the video just recently, it’s loud and annoying. Tech pushed in left side panel and noise temporarily went away while he had it pushed in with his hand. He said it was a just bad built and has ordered Sound Damp rubber type of liner to be installed inside of dryer’s left side panel. I will post later how it turned out. Not happy with purchase at all, after spending this much money. It’s very hard to return this type of equipment due to installation and delivery issues. We are basically stock with it. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE MAYTAG MODELS!!! It’s just a worthless name with that idiot Maytag repair man resting, in reality machines are totally crappy and low quality.
Just got this washer and have done two loads so far. I agree with what some of the other comments said about it not spinning well. It seems visually like it's working fine but I noticed the clothes are definitely heavier with water when I take them out than with my previous washer (Samsung). I even ran it again on just the drain & spin cycle but it made no difference.
Had an LG what a nightmare! Never again. Switched over to Maytag so happy with my Maytag, solid machine.. I don’t care for all the bells and whistles I just want my clothes well cleaned period. Super happy!

Make sure you get an extended warranty, because in about 3 years you will start getting error codes on the Washer on a regular basis. It will save you in the long run with repair bills. The Dryer on the other hand seems rock solid.

clean your vent tube and trap....we have the same dryer .. the lint tube was blocked going outside,,it is night and day .it is very quiet too now and dries clothes quickly
Good tip about cleaning lint filter. Also, if the dryer is running too long, lower the minutes. And estimate when clothes will be dry. He's sort of a wimp. :)
Good thing you returned those. If you didn't like that little dryer sound, you would have hated the loud buzzing the washer pump develops over time - a known issue with the washer.
The metal on metal noise has something to do with your venting system, not the dryer. There is most likely a small amount of play between the vent price being used and the duct coming out of the dryer itself.
I have both these units. Terrible units. Very difficult to turn on. Sometimes I turn them on and they never start. One second the turn on with a touch of the button, other times I have to get the count down from 3,2,1 before they will start. I tried to return mine but RC Willey would not take them back. Very poor starting button
I just got a dryer installed this past weekend, cannot figure out yet where to turn on a light if any, I had the washer already same band and I hate it it, uses to much water, just because my wife wanted to have the same brand, not cheap at all.
Great video, thank you for posting this! When you had this set did you wash a comforter or any large/heavy loads? I am wondering if the better suspension/load balancing is worth the extra cost over the 5630. Again, thanks for the great video and I hope you're still enjoying your Maytag set!
I bought Maytag washer and dryer in November od 2020. Wished I had them put in the street so the garbage truck could run over them. TOTAL waste of money. The washer does not spin the clothes like it should so I use the spin cycle and plus it takes an insane amount of time to get laundry done. The dryer does not dry clothes on the normal cycle so I use the quick dry cycle 3 times and my clothes are dry. Had LG before and again NO GOOD. BOSCH is what I should have done in the 1st place. Yes I have had the appliance repair out and they said nothing is wrong and they are coming back in 1 week.
At least you can get yours to spin. Ours will wash the clothes and then just make a chugging noise but not go on to spin. Repair guy says it is uneven load, not washing enough, must be too much soap, etc but the only load that went through was a load of 6 of the exact same towels. We have had the repair guy out several times but it still doesn’t wash then drain and spin. Can we park ours next to yours in the street?
Make sure the dryer vent that goes from the back of the dryer all the way outside of the house is not clogged any bit. It needs to be clear of any lint in order for the dryer to heat correctly.

I have one just like this, washer that is. A total piece of Crap. Since we bought ours July 17,2022, the repair service has been to my house six, yes six times to try and find out what is wrong with this machine. When is goes into a spin cycle, it shakes to hard it starts walking in a circle. I added a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to make the floor stronger that was not weak anyway. They have replaced the main computer, the message board, all four shock absorbers and both load springs. last week, December 1,2022 they replaced the entire drum. The next load we the next day was two sheets and two pillow cases. The machine again danced and shook so violently it turned against the wall. They are coming again which will make the 7th time on Friday December 9 to see what is going on. If I had not paid cash, I would stop payment on this machine. I am going to demand Friday that they remove this machine and Whirlpool/Magtag can refund my damn money. One more thing. We bought the pedestal for the machine and they said it may be the problem. So they removed the pedestal and that was NOT the problem. The old Maytag Neptune we had for over 14 years never gave one problem until the Maine bearing went north.
