- I am finally back in the alps, Just in time for an (almost) midsummer powder ski! Most people have now transitioned to foot for the summer, but skiing is still the easiest way to get around in the high mountains. These will not be weekly reports like in winter, it will be more ad hoc. But any time there is anything important to note in the high mountains you can be sure that i will keep you on top of it! Please note: i forgot to mention that climbing is currently prohibited (strictly) on all routes on the Brevent butresses left of Frison-roche until July 15th due to construction works at the top.

It's crazy how much snow there is. I hiked over to the Courmayeur side a few years ago in early July, and there were a ton of exposed crevasses. Really appreciate these reports.
Yep compared to the last 5 years or so it's looking really good up high!

Hi, what is the process for getting lift up midi at the moment, is there a booking system in place etc? Don't have a season pass and it's been a while since I've been in Cham!
Booking is not essential, but some days they will sell out so you need to get there early if not booked. If you want to get an early ish lift then you absolutely need to book on line or make a reservation at the desk a few days before!
