Good riding. This is why people using mobiles when driving should be banned. I once saw a woman in a Range Rover texting at 70 mph in lane 3 (“fast lane”) on a busy M25.

The real reason why this standard of driving is becoming prevalent is the lack of police patrol cars enforcing the law. The police aren't interested in preventing accidents just investigating after the event.

    • @thebrowns5337
      @thebrowns5337 5 місяців тому

You give conflicting views. Your first point 'lack of Police patrol cars' is very true - there simply are not enough of them. Many are not pursuit trained either. And more than you think are not even allowed to use blue lights. Remember the Tories cut 20k officers. Experienced officers with a long history of training. Sure, we are slowly seeing numbers come back up but these trainees have fallen foul of all the experienced officers being cut. Mentors are spread too thin and the backlog for training in the stages of driving is measured in years. There is no quick fix.
As for not interested - that bit is BS. Nothing would satisfy officers more than quick and easy traffic stops compared to the self harm and domestic abuse that are the bread and butter responses. Babysitting people who have mental health issues and waiting 8 hours for an ambo. Or taking statements from various parties, spending hours documenting it only to be told the victim won't press charges after all because their other half will change this time. Or spending an entire shift in hospital pinning down someone who OD'd on spice. Oh for a traffic stop.

This is a serious growing occurrence on UK roads.
I’ve had it happen in the car - a few times initially that were immensely insane and needed drastic avoidance. But since then I’ll see the big SUV cars heading towards me in my low coupe over the white line and they won’t budge.
I’m absolutely speechless as to how they do it and there isn’t more head on collisions. They move if your vehicle is bigger.
But you see it on country roads often; lazily cutting the corner. And reminds me of when I was a teen and a motorcyclist got his head taken off by this exact thing.
I ride with contingency but I don’t think I have an exit strategy for this if the closing speed is three digits on a shallow yet blind bend.

Anne Sacoolas drove her car head on into collision with Harry Dunn. Anne Sacoolas was the American wife of a CIA operative, not a diplomat, although she did falsely claim diplomatic privilege and the dumb Northamptonshire police released her on bail (which would never have happened to a UK driver in the USA).
Former President Drumpf sent a private jet to whisk her out of the UK back to the USA to evade justice. What would you expect from a fellow felon?
Anne Sacoolas did not face justice. She was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and attended her trial at the Old Bailey by video link, in the comfort of her home in Virginia, when she pleaded guilty to careless driving.
Anne Sacoolas was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment, however, the Judge then suspended the sentence because, of course, the USA were not going to extradite Anne Sacoolas to serve the sentence.
An English driver causing the death of a motorcyclist in the USA as a result of driving their car on the wrong side of the road would immediately be arrested, incarcerated, tried and imprisoned in the USA for many years.

Your slow speed helped you there. The van driver was sn idiot. But your road pisition needs correcting. I only know because i am doing my IAM bike course at the moment and instead of holding centre of the road on that right hand bent a position more to the left would open up the bend giving both drivers an extra second or two to see each other. I recommend the course it is a real eye opener l. I have been wriding wrong for 45 years !

OK, I've been riding since the age of 10 and I am now 61, to say your statement "almost died" is complete rubbish. You had plenty of time, slow enough speed and he did move over way before any evasive action would have been needed. I spent 14 years as a motorcyle crash trainer (essentially teaching people how to avoid and/or survive a crash by managing that crash) and your situation and your video title tells me you have little confidence in your abilities as a rider and probably would benefit from a good crash and/or safetry course.

Not really a close call at all. The driver was, no doubt, in your lane but you had plenty of time and space. He was driving poorly and dangerously, but you weren't in danger and overreacted to the situation. There are bad drivers all over, better get used to it because if you get like this every time, you'll drive yourself into a psychotic state.

Only God, by his Holy Spirit and His angels can protect you on a motorcycle. Psalms 91 is the prayer of protection, but it’s not a normal prayer. It’s a contract or covenant.. You must say out loud, that God is your protector to invoke all the protections below in that psalm.
Of course you have to be a Christian, where the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit lives inside of you for any of this to work… 😇 and of course you must have Faith..🙏🏻
God has protected me for 47 years of riding. God can protect you on a motorcycle as easy as sitting at home on the couch. God bless you all.🙏🏻
