Lord Rock, interesting story! There is a CWGC record for Private Nash: Private STANLEY GEORGE NASH Service Number: 18529 Royal Warwickshire Regiment 11th Battalion. Died Between 14 November 1916 and 16 November 1916, age 22 years old. Buried or commemorated at MAILLY WOOD CEMETERY, MAILLY-MAILLET, France - Special Memorial at north end Row Q, Plot 1.
My house is about a 4-minute walk from this end of the cemetery, and I go to visit my grandmother's grave in the cremation garden and my other relatives who are up the top. The Nash family is synonymous with Chesham and its area. There is Nash Farm, which used to own or maybe still does, Bovingdon Aerodrome, which was used for Bovingdon market and banger racing for many years but is now a huge film studio with ITV filming Dancing on Ice there.
Amy must have waited five years to marry Horace as, until 1921, it was illegal for a widow to marry her husband's brother. I understand they changed the law after WW1 because so many young men were killed and their brothers wanted to help their sister-in-law and any nieces and nephews they had.
This is Great news Izzy! So maybe this grave, and others like it, were instrumental in a much needed law change! Peter the Rock. Always the first with major news!!! (Ho ho). Bless Amy for her loyalty and love
I'll take your word for it, Frances! Of course one of the twins may have 'done a Ludwig '!! I just don't know!! I hope poor Amy was not as confused as I am!!

Re about 1:29 - Amy must have married Stanley George first as he died in the Great War and then she married Horace William.
