Me and my pops shorted out one of these just trying to mess around with it without wiring a fuse in, any chance you could help us know where to start on fixing it?

I can tell you right now more than likely you smoked the protection diode you need a 1N4007 1 amp just pull diode and solder a new in and in you should be good to go.. I have go back and look through my videos but I am pretty sure I showed how to do one..
