Cool to see Nolan winning and bein happy playin ball again. All he cares about is winning his teamates and the fans. Class act
My dads love for Albert is what made me a cardinal fan, cool that Nolan and his dad share the same experience.
Glad to have u Nolan, class act, u fit right in.
Carlson for Rookie of the year😎
Now that he's batting 2nd. Should of been there to start. But Shildt didn't want his 2 switch hitters back-to-back. In my opinion, you play your best players regardless of if they bat left or right.
@@MGillDesign Pretty sure it was to make sure that he could handle the pressure. Let's not forget in the first two weeks he wasnt really doing anything other than either hitting a home run or walking. Once he started catching fire he was moved there.
@@reorulz I think they baby these players too much. If you're a professional hitter, you should be able to hit 2nd. Tommy Edman can handle the pressure of hitting 1st without issue. Just my opinion. I think Shildt batted him 8th because managers are crazy about the righty-lefty balance of their lineups. Good hitters will hit regardless of whether they are right handed/left handed. Plus Shildt weakened the lineup putting Goldschmidt 2nd in a run scoring slot instead of RBI (3rd or 4th) slot. I truly believe this cost the Cards a few wins early on. Look how Edman and Carlson are able to score a quick run (in many 1st innings now). That didn't happen with Goldschmidt batting 2nd. Makes a huge difference in 1 run games/losses.
Also, batting 2nd, your mentality changes. You're just thinking of moving the runner, getting on base (in front of Arenado/Goldschmidt). Batting 8th is a whole different approach. Now Carlson can spray the ball around (suits his skill level better) and get Edman to 3rd base, etc. The power will just come naturally (without trying) to hit homeruns. He knows the power guys are behind him (3 & 4). So less pressure, actually.
@@MGillDesign By that logic why not bat Justin Williams or Matt Carpenter 2nd? Simply being a "professional hitter" doesn't dictate what spot in the order you should bat. Tommy hits first because he gets on base, has speed and on top of that has already proven himself capable of doing so, Carlson hadn't yet. If Shildt was so crazy about the lefty righty match up then why is Carlson batting 2nd now? Goldy has been our best hitter in the last 2 seasons and statistically you want your best bat in the 2nd hole to get more ABs. If you truly believe that then show me exactly which games Shildt costed us by batting Goldy 2nd? Carlson needed to prove he was ready to bat higher in the order and for the first two weeks he struggled batting over the mendoza line but after that again he started spraying the ball everywhere and subsequently put in the 2 hole. Now that Goldy is starting to resurge, the top 4 of the lineup is arguably the best in the League.
I love my cards way to go! Great game playing by all I have been a huge Cards fan since I was little I have declining health but sure enjoy my games!! Great job by all. Go cards!!
Nolan is making the Cardinals a championship contender
Not with our trash bullpen
@@jonast7112 Our bullpen has been pretty solid to start out the year just saying. Besides Tyler Webb there isn't another reliever on the team who has an ERA over 3.00. And our starting rotation is very underrated Flaherty, Wainwright, Kim, Martinez, Gant. I trust every one of those guys (besides maybe Martinez) to give 6-7 strong innings. And once Mikolas comes back that will put Gant back in the bullpen making that even better. Don't see how you can be negative when we currently have the best record in the NL
@@jonast7112 dude our bullpen has SO many weapons. I really have no clue what you’re talking about. The pitching is fine.
I think people are forgetting that Nolan hit a homer off the brewers we got to brewers killers they were in a slump in the beginning but they are getting better everyday
My little league coach told me if you dont want to play the game dont show up
oh no, sware
If Red Sox don’t win the WS I would want the cards to win it
I am not very unhappy to Nolan areado should staying at rox for save!!! 😠😠😠😠Grrrrrrr
I hope that Nolan finds success in St Louis, but I am glad that he is gone.
After hearing Wainwright talk about how Arenado sent texts over the past couple years looking to entice a move to the Cardinals, he is not the guy the Rockies would want to build around if that is his attitude towards the franchise.
I’m overall very displeased with the Rockies front office in general, even more so since they could not recognize that he wanted out and they did not get more value out of a trade for him.
As a Rockies fan, I’m very disappointed in Nolan for not being forthcoming in his actions and I’m disappointed in the front office for how they handled everything regarding their star player. Very sad times.
The Rockies gave him a player opt-out hoping he would leave too, it wasn't all on Arenado wanting out.
The two guys running the Rockies are fraudsters. Nolan realized it and got out of that toxic place asap.
We had him for 8 years before he soured, sport.
His attitude towards the franchise spawned and grew out of his years of experience with a franchise NOT ATTEMPTING TO BUILD A CONTENDING TEAM
Your a Rockies fan and your glad the best third baseman in the mlb is gone??? Your trippin.
I know that, and I’m not saying this is Arenado’s fault or that he made a bad choice.
I think ownership has been terrible and I believe that not much will improve until they decide to sell to someone more competent.
I think Arenado made a smart move in leaving, but not being forthcoming about it I think speaks about his character in negative way.
