The Tour of Britain through Knutsford, Cheshire

I forgot this was happening today but soon realised when I saw cyclists and pedestrians lining the streets as I approached Knutsford, on my daily ride.
Nice to see such vocal support for cycling, usually it's a "get out of my fecking way!"

It isn't so much closing the roads as in using bollards and fences, its just keeping the tour's path clear of traffic and stopping other lanes. You can see the stopped traffic as they ride through.

I was at the finish at knowsley today, it was cool.... wish id have taken my bike as you could cycle down the last 1KM

You'd have thought they would be using mountain bikes, considering the state of some of the UK roads.

They don't close the streets for this? I mean... There was a chance you would suddenly see all those cars carrying all those bikes and be like "OMG I need to get out of the way!"?
