I need to know !! Who is your favore character in this movie ??
Definitely Les Grossman 😂
Tom Cruise as Les Grossman followed very closely by RDJ as Kirk Lazarus playing Lincoln Osiris. 😂
you 😻
Robert Downey Junior
Pretty much all of them, to be honest. If I have to choose, it'd be Four Leaf, simply because he's a fake Vietnam veteran being played by an actual Vietnam veteran (Nick Nolte)
For so many people , they don't recognize Tom Cruise until the credits...which I personally find hilarious.
Which I personally find so fucking stupid.
Yeah... I REALLY don't get that either. It's SO obvious !😂😂😂
I saw this in the theater, it took me a second before I recognized the voice. Once I realized who it was, I couldn't unsee it. But the fat suit, the hair, and huge hands and forearms threw me off for a moment.
I was one of those people you find hilarious.
That happened to me... I watched the movie and thought, who is this guy, he seems familiar...
Tom Cruise as Les Grossman in this movie is just peak comedy. It’s even funnier when people don’t figure it out until WAY after. 😂
I have no idea how people can't tell it's him from the voice ALONE, along with the fact it literally looks like Tom Cruise with makeup lol
@@reservoirdude92 Yeah, right? I first watched this movie with a Spanish dub and yet could recognize him. I mean, it's too obvious that it's a person in full make-up and prosthetics. At least it should make everyone wonder why that guy looks weird.
Tom Cruise should make more funny movies he kills it in this... he never makes funny movies. Ever.
I remember reading this from the IMDB trivia and it makes his character so much better knowing this lol: "Ben Stiller said nearly all aspects of the Les Grossman character were developed by Tom Cruise, including the dancing and the look of the make-up. Stiller said that in addition to the more obvious make-up effects applied to Cruise's face and head, and the extra hair on his chest and arms, Cruise also decided to play the character wearing oversized prosthetic hands."
He was great and I didn't recognize him, sadly.
She didn't recognize *Tom Cruise* or his voice throughout the video, so I was so happy she was watching the credits. But then she turned it off before they got to reveal *Tom Cruise*
Yeah, I feel bad that I didn't recognize him sooner
@@BissFlix that's fine that you didn't recognize him it just would have been a nice review had you continue the credits & been surprised reaction
"Let's gAAAAAAAHHHHHHG"
Robert Downey Jr. was actually nominated for an Oscar for his performance as Kirk Lazarus. He lost to the late Heath Ledger as the Joker in _The Dark Knight_
The role of Rick Peck was originally written with Owen Wilson in mind. However, Wilson was going through some mental health issues at the time, and Ben Stiller cast Matthew McConaughey instead to let his friend recover.
Oh wow, thank you for the info
Ben Stiller is a huge Star Trek fan and includes references to it in almost every one of his films.
That one fight scene with Captain Kirk and the Lizardman is also famous as the worst acted fight scene in a show with lots of bad fight scenes.
Speedman watching it to learn acting is really funny.
Oh really? Thanks for watching
and he picked the most iconic of star trek scenes where Kirk fights the Gorn
Im suprised his beautiful wife from that Nickelodeon Show Hey Dude wasnt in this. Shes a regular extra in his movies.
I hope she avoided the bs Nickelodeon got caught doing.
@Yora21 except it's well acted and respected so you're full of it
The movie shellshocked me, I was so blown away I couldn't even laugh half the time. I laughed more after the movie was over and I was talking about it with friends. The characters were so outlandish, every actor nailing their role, the whole story was ridiculous but at the same time highlighted real Hollywood stereotypes. It was so stupid/smart! One of the greatest comedies I've watched.
Stupid/smart indeed, thanks for watching. glad you enjoyed it
It's called Satire.
Tom Cruise with the "I WILL DESTROY YOU" never gets old
Many times said before but: Yes RDJ did the commentary of this movie in character....also "Put your face in it..do like a motor...brrrr." Thats what she said
If you pay close attention, he even changes his character in the commentary to match whatever character he is playing on-screen.
Her reaction to the landmine was priceless :)
Loved the reaction as always! It was refreshing to see someone react to it who didn’t act offended at everything 😂
Glad you enjoyed, thank you
Saw this in theaters and 'I'm a lead farmer MFer' has been my text tone since this came out on dvd. Can't wait to watch.
Haha, thanks for watching
"Les Grossman" was actually Tom Cruise (Top Gun) in a Fat suit! He pretty much had Total Control of the Character, from the Dance Moves down to wearing fake "Fat Hands". A few Years Later, during an Awards Show, Jennifer Lopez was performing, but "Les Grossman" (in full Wardrobe) joined her onstage to add to the Dance Routine... TOTALLY Blew everyone's mind!
since TT I have always wanted to see Tom Cruise in some other comedy movie...
Oh wow, might have to look for that video haha. Thanks for watching
This movie is so meta. It’s basically a parody of different stereotypes in Hollywood.
Its ok, it not for everyone
@@BissFlix oh, I think it’s fantastic and very clever how it pokes fun at the entire industry. Great reaction as usual.
I love how Robert was trying not to laugh when they were sitting around the campfire. You can see his smile😂
BissFlix like ''I don't react to movies, movies react to me''.
😎
Haha
This should have won an Oscar for Best Child Toss in a motion picture.
I have watched numerous ‘Tropic Thunder’ reaction videos on YT and while you are definitely not the only one who did not recognize Tom Cruise as Les Grossman, you are definitely the first person to not catch him in the credits, and not even mention his name throughout the whole video. Lol Cruise was iconic in a role that nobody ever expected him to do. Him and RDJ killed it in this movie, my two favorite characters in a movie with a whole lot of characters! 😄
"It was stupid, but smart stupid" Bravo! I knew you'd like this.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it as well
The girl he kissed on the cheek at the end was Jennifer Love Hewitt, the girl that RDJ's character was dating in the movie.
Oh I see, thanks
@@BissFlix and Lance turned out to be Lance Bass of NSYNC
Apple bottom jeans 🎶boots with the fur 🎶the whole club was looking at her 😂🍪
She hit the floor
@@BissFlix next thing you know 🎶 Bissy got low-low-low-low-low-low-low-low 💜
I could tell it was the unrated extended version when Jack Black said MY BUTT IS hurting! It’s funny, a lot of his humor in this is around his butt.
The best thing in the film is Tom Cruise dancing with a beer belly!
I still think Robert Downey Jr. deserved an Oscar for this movie. Such a fun reaction, love seeing u laugh and having a great time. I knew u would enjoy this movie. Great reaction Biss!! ❤🔥🔥
He has at least half of the movie's greatest lines. And there are so many.
No way was anyone going to beat Heath Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight even before he died. But RDJ now has his Oscar something that 25 years ago would have been unthinkable for a man who looked like he was going to be dead before he turned 40 years old.
@@dsfddsgh i totally forgot that was the same year. You’re right, no one was beating Heath. I’m happy he has his Oscar now.
Thank you so much, happy you loved it
The interesting coincidence is that RDJ's win came for a Christopher Nolan film, and he lost to a performance from a Nolan film the year he lost for TROPIC THUNDER. A full circle moment!
As a matter of fact, until OPPENHEIMER, Ledger's performance in THE DARK KNIGHT was the only ever performance from a Nolan movie to be nominated (let alone win). As of this writing, Nolan now has a near-perfect streak of directing people to acting wins (he now has directed 4 people to Oscar nominations, of which 3 of them won (the only acting nomination that any Nolan movie didn't win is now Emily Blunt for OPPENHEIMER)).
The director randomly freaking out "THATS THE SIGNAL!, GOGOGO!!"
Haha yeah
TOM CRUISE. GOLD.
He did great
This movie has dragged me out of so many bad moods. Just Brilliant and what's even better is hearing some tender souls demanding apologies for the making of this piece of Art! UA-cam won't let me comment to them? Shame o dear.. Anyway I've always loved seeing the reactions when they realise 'That's Tom Cruise' . But not here so Bisses coffee couldn't of kicked in. 12 out of 10 for this movie. Great Channel Biss and Cheer's Beautiful.x
The pigmentation liquid shown (little bottle with red cap) is used in Chinese medicine. I used to do Wing Chun and we used it for bruises/tissue damage on the arms/legs after practice. I assume that as Robert Downey Junior practices Wing Chun that is was his?
People who don’t recognize Tom Cruise as Les are the same ones that don’t recognize Superman as Clark because he’s wearing glasses 😂
after I see your reaction bisscute my day is going to be amazing and complete 🥰☺️
Aww thank you
@@BissFlix your welcome biss I hope you are doing well 😘☺️
Oh my God that's the funniest thing I've seen all week. When she started singing along to Apple bottom jeans, I was not prepared.
Haha, Glad you enjoyed the reaction

Great reaction as usual. Having said that. Dude you had me cracking up. Thanks man. 😊😂😂🥰👏
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it
Oh Biss, you’re on a roll with all these movies. So many good movies in a row. Way to go 🤘🏻🔥💥🙏🏻💯
Happy you like
The name tropical thunder is based on the nickname of the 25 infartey Division of the US Army which is known as Tropic lLightning. . The 25th is stationed in Hawaii. Several men who go on to become celebrities served in the unit at various times , country musician George Strait, actor and rapper Ice T and filmmaker Olvier Stone. Stone served in the division during the Vietnamese war and is a Vietnam and is a Vietnamese veteran and the film Platoon is a fictionalized version of some of Stones own experience in that War. This fil. Is partially a spoof of Platoon as well as other war movies.
Think of all the brilliant important academy award winning roles, Tom has done - or blockbusters that will last forever. Yet half the world who has seen this, knows Les Grossman and can recite his lines word for word!
The "Lance" that Alpa Chino said he had feelings for and then later on kissed at the award show was Lance Bass from NSYNC. He had publicly come out as gay about a year earlier
Your reactions are epic. I don't know where the film ends and your video begins.
YES!!!!! I've been waiting for you to react to this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you liked it
Tom Cruise's best role ever!

Much appreciated, thank you
20:05 emerges from his half naked woman tent.
Well that will now be in my top 5 all time favorite quotes.
8:24 I've never noticed that I don't think and I've watched this movie a ton lol. Nice catch Biss! :)
Happy to bring something new
I've watched a BUNCH of reactions to this Classic Comedy, but this one might be my favourite so far. Bisscute is vibing with the humour, pretty much all the Classic lines are included, we've gotten at least a couple quality P-r-r-r-ricks!, and the way that 28:15 lands is Pure Joy. 🤣☮❤
Wow, thank you so much. Happy you loved it
lol I never knew the lyrics to that song until you sang it. lolol interesting.
Hello Bisscute, this is a terrific movie. Thank you for finding it. I hope that you enjoy it.
Ben Stiller got the idea for this movie while working on Spielberg's Empire of the Sun. Worth checking out but definitely not a comedy though.
love how onboard bisky is with all the evil producer stuff.
Haha
What about Tom Cruise as Les Grossman? No one has ever seen him in a role like this.
Didn't recognize him, he pulled it off, job well done
Tom Cruise as Les Grossman is my favorite! But Jay Barachel as Kevin Sandusky as the ever present straight man should get an honorable mention!
I love the movie's reflection in the silver UA-cam plaque!!!
haha
This has to be one of the best satires on Hollywood, the Hollywood system and its stereotypes. As well as the best parody of war films.
Its great, I enjoyed it a lot. thanks for watching
Robert Downey Jr.’s character was so so funny. He had me rolling. 😂😂😂😂😂
You passed the test of understanding and liking this movie. 😇
yay
Biss nodding approvingly at the agent guy going into 'cover up a murder' mode for his client amused me. 🤣
Haha, hey if i was in that situation, I would like to have him too
@@BissFlix Well, yes, I guess I would too. 😂And to reassure me about my inability to cry when necessary. ;)
Top 5 funniest movies of all time imo
absolutely
It muh-muh makes me laugh.
Glad you enjoyed this, thank you for watching
@@BissFlix no thank you bisscute for reacting to this 😘☺️
The movie is hilarious, I've always enjoyed movies that make fun of and parody the movie industry and how movies are made. RDJ's character making fun of character actors is doubly funny because RDJ IS a character actor (although I don't believe to nearly that degree). Did you know that Les Grossman was Tom Cruise? Loved the review as always.
Good reaction!!!
Thank you so much
"MTV Movie Award: Best Kiss Winner - Toby Maguire"
Those trailers were a fantastic choice to start the film with. However, it only really worked if you saw the movie in the theater when it first came out.
After _Jackass 2, and _South Park,__ this movie probably got the most laughs in the theater of all the comedies I ever went to watch.
13:30 Fun fact Robert did the DVD community in character 😂
Oh I see, might check that out someday
The sing along, perfecto!
Thank you
Robert Downey Jr. His acting was way more diffucult to do right.
But yes Tom as a close second.
They all did great, I loved Jack Black's performance
When half squat walked in with the Twiggman statue and Biss said Oooohhhhh!!!! How many of you laughed knowing what was coming up with him ?
Good job patron!
Another great review.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed this
_Devastatingly_ wicked satire, with pinpoint precision. They did a masterful job of nailing all the trendy film tropes of the previous few decades. 😎
Thanks for watching
Tropic Thunder has been my favorite comedy movie since the day I saw it in the theatre. I bet I've seen it more than 20 times.
Nice, glad you enjoyed the reaction as well
want to see young robert?"air America",great comedy staring mel Gibson..tx for all your work, love it😉
Oh?
28:15 I re-watched this so many times, what a gem of a human💛
I like this version better than the original
Tom Cruises'best role
They shooting blanks don't matter if the weopon is wet or dry
39:58 Oh God, I can't * laughs his lungs out * This hurts!
When re-watching, ya realize it's so well written. So many set-ups and pay-offs.
Act 1: Speedman's adopted Asian child is in the playpen (child prison) with a knife.
Act 3: Speedman (held prisoner) adopts an Asian child that ends up stabbing him with a knife.
let’s then a hour to go 🥰
''What woulda happened in the Great Escape if Steve McQueen and all them dudes turned tail and ran..'' Lol. They'd Escape?! :D
Haha
You cut Cruise 😱
I thought it was just some credits scene, didn't knowww
Robert Downey Junior is super good in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang! A must see! Super good comedy thriller mystery movie!
And he is super good in Natural Born Killers too, but that is a smaller role. And not a comedy, even if it makes you laugh at times. I think this Australian bit in Tropic Thunder is from that movie. Robert is not an Aussie, but he plays one in Natural Born Killers. So the Aussie part in this movie must be a nod to that movie.
"Ok, let's g-AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"
LOVE IT!!
Haha, was caught by surprise
U would luv Rambo 2 and 3. The 1st one is a serious drama movie 2 and 3 is action.
Believe it or not a lot of people don’t catch the Tom Cruise thing on this movie😂 enjoyed your reaction. Have a nice day❣️
Thank you! You too
This cast is the most star studded comedy ever probably.
Lots of great actors
it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world might beg to differ
