yeah absolutely I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could do nothing to change any thing so I felt helpless. I miss her everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds everyone together.. seeing this makes me miss her even more I come to this page all the time just to have that nostalgia

I hope now that you have gained some appreciation for at least the spirit of country music, if not all of the sounds, you have also listened to Marty Robbins' "El Paso".
There are so many different styles all lumped together under the genre's label "Country Music" that it's easy to find a few songs you'll like, even if the rest really turn you off. Bein' older now helps, too. If you'd like suggestions for others you might like, let me know.

Well, there was a time when a lot of popular music was banned from airplay in the old USSR, so no wonder you never had a chance to be exposed to Patsy Cline's music. Sorry that you missed out then, but maybe you're more able to appreciate it now, and that's the important thing. It's still heartbreaking that Patsy Cline died so young, and somehow this song is the most haunting song she ever recorded. Thanks to the engineering gods for the invention of recording music of all genres, and devices to listen to it on. Thanks to that, Ms. Cline's unearthly beautiful voice was able to be made immortal, the only fortunate thing to come out of such a tragic loss.

Working in a breakfast joint in Austin the 80s, we listened to a lot of good music. But every morning when the crowd started getting bigger the head waitress would put on a tape of all of these songs. Every day. Finally somebody asked why Patsy was getting the heavy rotation when there was so much good music to play. Jill, the head waitress, explained that it was simple: when Patsy was playing, the tips were always twice as good. None of us ever asked again.

My Mother use to play Patsy Cline, while holding me on her hip, and dance with me, when I was about 5 year's old. Mother had quite a voice herself, so every time she would find a place with good acoustics, she'd belt out Patsy Cline lyrics in acapella, such as "I Fall to Pieces", "Crazy", and "Sweet Dreams". Those moments of her, are even more precious, now that she's passed-on.
Now, I'm not a country music fan, but I never thought Patsy Cline was anything other than an exceptional singer. I only wish the recording technology had been better to capture her voice more accurately. As I'm here listening and writing this little note, "Sweet Dreams" and "Crazy" are playing ― Now, Every time someone speaks your name - I fall to pieces and I'm here in tears.
"I fall to pieces, Each time someone speaks your name,
I fall to pieces, Time only adds to the blame ...."
My God, what a voice... !!!

as for Country Music ..Patsy is on the top of my list. there are many female artists / singers among the greatest of the 20th Century but so few are in the same league with Barbra Streisand, Karen Carpenter and the great Patsy Cline. I consider that everyone has there own preference. I mean we like or love so many songs it is difficult to eliminate to have just one Favorite or best of all time. When I hear this song by Lulu "To Sir with Love" it too has meaning and it's very touching. We will always enjoy music that touches our soul and deep within our heart. Very emotional and inspiring. It's hard not to love these talented, gifted and influential people who give us joy in our lives. As they depart this world they leave something behind to be desired. Many would love to be taken by the hand and go on the amazing journey of their musical careers. Surely we miss them all and love them just as we do our own family members since we feel they are part of our own lives. Patsy, we (I) love you for giving us unforgettable songs to remember you by. You're beautiful in every way that matters. Thank you.

vee kay Death is more of a heartache for those left behind. The dead person has no idea. No matter who you are, death is always worse for those who are left alive to mourn you. They are the only ones who can feel the pain and loss and grief. The dead person has no idea. They didn’t notice the billions of years before their matter was put together and were born, and they won’t notice after either.
Ask someone who is dying. They are more worried about their family and children they are leaving behind than about themselves. They know they are not the ones who will have to live with it. It is hard when you know you are dying, yes, but most decent people do not think of themselves first and foremost in a scenario like that. They think of the people they love that will be left hurting and missing them. Maybe you don’t have children or family/friends and don’t understand, I don’t know. But how about you stop and think about that.

yeah! I get what you mean .. I was born in 1960 and heard many songs on AM Radio in the car. I didn't always pay attention but sure do remember songs from many Country Artists. My parents weren't one for singing songs, we just listen. My brother and I picked on each other often, wanting to lay down and sleep on our long or short trip in the car. If it was a long trip we played with a toy or game of cards also complained we were hungry or needed to go to the bathroom as to make a pit stop on our journey. I was more into children songs and playful stuff at a very young age. It wasn't until I was 9 years old that I got interested in listening to music. Then I started buying 45's and LP's when I was 11 almost 12 years old as I spent some of my money about $6 to $7 a week as a Newspaper (courier) Delivery boy (1971-1976). My vinyl record collection grew when I had enlisted in the US Navy in 1978. By mid 1980's music CD's were coming to life but I had other interests instead of buying music as it was cheaper to record from the radio. I probably had nearly 500- 45's and 200 Albums. I gave them all away about 1996. Too bulky and too many to keep as I started my own family. Today, nearly any song I can think of is on the INTERNET "World Wide Web". You Tube is excellent. Well, Patsy Cline is surely one of the greatest female Country stars of all time or the 20th Century anyways. I also appreciated the dedication show done by Leann Rimes. I just love the both of them.
