Of all the members of the Supremes, although they were all beautiful, I always considered Mary Wilson the most attractive of the trio, with Diana and Florence running a close second.
All 3 are so very cute and innocent here. They seem to really be at a point in their lives that they were in harmony, unison and true spirit of respect for one another. UNTIL....that all changed with egos festering and alienation would later come. Oh Diane, Diane why did you take a detour????
@@divinewilliams3055 Yes he was cold, calculating and didn't care bout the collateral damage he would cause along the way. Maybe that's why he's been through so many spouses!
@Frederick Wells Well he is into his 90s now and he will have to talk to his maker about just what kind of example he has been to humanity and the destruction of 3 friends .
Also, I always considered the other members of The Supremes who later came along to be very attractive, such as Cindy Birdsong & Jean Terrel. Diana Ross held a "Baby Love" Concert @ Madison Square Garden in NYC, I believe it was in the 1980's or 1990's. The only original member of The Supremes was of course, Diana. When Jean Terrel, Mary Wilson & Cindy Birdsong (Whom now works as a minister in her church-good for her!) were each asked if they would like to perform with her @ this concert, they all turned down the request. I guess each of them are still mad @ Diana after all these years. As a result of this, Diana hired two other Ex-Supremes members who came along later, to sing with her on stage. I didn't attend this Concert since not only because Jean, Mary & Cindy weren't going to be on stage with Diana, but the cheapest ticket costed $75.00! And if I invited someone to go w/ me, that would have costed $150.00! Forget it! Maybe someday, if it's meant to be, Diana, Jean Terrel & Cindy Birdsong will reunite on stage one more time, as The Supremes. In the meantime, we can always watch them in old footage from the Mike Douglas Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Hollywood Palace, Shindig, Hollaballo, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Merv Griffin Show, Murray the "K"'s It's What's Happenin' Baby Show etc.
Diana had to be carefully trained to be a crowd pleaser. Florence didn't need the training, she was naturally funny and likable, on top of being so shapely and elegant looking. No wonder Diana was jealous as hell of her
@@michellekirkendall818 …. I think Malcolm hit it right on the head. I never heard it put so succinctly. Flo had it all. She was a natural. And Diana Ross was insecure and jealous of Florence Ballard.

Probably now in the day Flo could of seeked help for the rape she endured , the subsequent drinking and pills. Her professionalism seemed to had suffered at this time and her pain turned towards her employers /Berry Gordy and Diana Ross the lady that was rightfully the catalyst of the group . She lost her job due to it . Not everyone can be the star but she played her part . It takes great courage , a sense of self belief , determination , character and charisma to be ‘the one’ which l believe Flo lacked in abundance . People seem to spoil what she did achieve by saying she shoulda , coulda woulda done more . Her legacy was her own , end of -we’ve all gotta go sometime or another . She could of lived a happy life post her career that was all down to her nobody else .
Wooo The Brilliance of her talent and singing and her timing--- was exceptional.. and that pissed someone off with a lot of jealousy ... that is truth.. so much Flo had to die because of it....
No Florence didn't have to DIE because of it! If she didn't like the terms of Berry's decision, seek a new record deal, explore other avenues! Her behavior got her booted; she suffered for eight years from a situation she created!
Maybe 30 years ago. Faith is now about 20 years older than Florence was when she passed. She would have been a good choice to play her, but time got away.
True, but you also have to consider this is part of marketing. Their young ages and single status would have made many of their male fans even more into them and want to marry them. It’s like why so many K-Pop stars have to keep their relationship statuses secret and some have to be sort of asexual because it garners that sort of hormone-driven obsession that sells pop music. The irony is that they also have to keep things secret because once that works they have a new problem of their rapid fans going after whoever it is that is dating them with harassment and threats.
What year were you born in? All three were high school students when they signed their contract in July, 1961! Ross and Wilson were born 1944; Wilson is three weeks older than Ross; Ballard was born in 1943!
Barry Gordy is a POS for holding this lady back, hating and just simply creating delays while dissing her talent. By the time she was 30, she wasnt even interested in singing anymore. No telling what influence she might have had on the world. Especially for the 80's.
This is how the SUPREME s should have stayed--- they all had talent in their own way.. and together ''''THEY WERE A VERY BIG SUCCESS AND FAMOUS... each taking a turn at songs that would have been the future --like how Flo did this -- brilliant-- but yet -- total SUPREME....
She probably felt awkward saying she was the eldest..Because, I saw an interview where the other girls talked about her weight.. Insecurities were probably setting in..I personally thought she was just fine at her size..
No. That was their true age. I am assuming that this performance was after March (Diana's and Mary's birth month) but before June (Florence's birth month) making them all 21 at the time until Florence turned 22.
Everyone likes the artists of their time; just like you do. Whatever they wear now, you like it. Hope nobody comes and tells you stupidly how awful your favorite singer is...after you get older!
She was a great backup singer but she had NOTHING special to offer.. She didnt have the depth of Ms Franklyn nor the range of Ms Knight.. And sorry to tell you, the uniqueness of Ms Ross’s voice .. Her voice was that of a member of the choir.. any and I mean any solo she had was BLAH ... get over it RIP indeed
No, Flo was real! This is why when you think of the Supremes you include Flo. She may have thought she was being put in the back, but she wasn't. Flo was and is the glaze that makes the Supremes.
That's probably why she didn't hesitate to beat Diane's ass in that dressing room so long ago. And it took at least two people to pry Florence off that wicked witch if I remember correctly. I wonder if that furious well-deserved good azz-beating ever crosses Ross's mind.
You would think that a "baby love" would be far from Florence's mind after so recently having the kitty forcefully battered and flooded with that horrible man's spermatazoa. Poor Flo. We love you and miss you. Looking for your baby love? Really? You need to be looking for your kitty- buster.

Yes -- and they ALL should have remained the SUPREME S B-Greedy -- WAS WRONG -- just like he fowled up Gods Gift=Motown-- that place of business was suppose to STAY in Michigan and be a leader and help his race.. BUT HE DID NOT DO IT -- CHEATED AND CORRUPTED MUCH and the fire did burn!!! Diana is no more of a pop star than had she had stayed with the Supreme s and SHE KNOWS IT!!! but we are here to learn and that we ALL do-- good and bad -- mistakes.. it s like --- ''won't go down that road again!'''
OF COURSE---- I remember whenever Dick Clark had to say the hit records list on his show--he ALWAYS said the ''Supreme s'' Never DRoss and the.......
@@ronrossmore211 the name was changed to “Diana Ross & The Supremes” just so Berry Gordy could make more money off them. “The Supremes” is who was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
@@reealitychick Berry Gordy, Jr, believing he had reached his peak in creating hit singles, decided to move to Los Angeles to get into films. I think Motown Industries completed only 4 projects. He did an interview, sometime later, saying he thought the hitmaking days were over, and he may have erred. But, there's nothing wrong with his choice. It's so competitive in the movie industry, and it wasn't as easy to get in, or succeed. But he, like everyone else, wanted to expand. The group began as The Supremes, changed in 1967 to create two acts.
Flo love you and mary
R.I.P. Mary Wilson 💚
All of the Supremes were classy
Yes, they were! My favorites were Florence, Mary, Cindy, and Jean.
On STAGE that is. But in real life, one of them was an absolute SKANK.
Love you flo
God bless her
YOU GO FLO.
This is such a nice quality rare clip. It's really too bad that it has the numbering in the center.
Interesting that Ms Ross calls herself Diana here when at the Copa, she introduced herself as her birth name Diane.
Her birth name: Diana Ernestine Earle Ross.
@@michellekirkendall818 Listen to the group introduction on the album Supremes At The Copa, my name is DIANE Ross, I'm the intelligent one. Her name was Diane. She later changed it to Diana because she thought it had more pizazz!!!!
@@freddie3206 Family and friends affectionately called her "Diane.". However, her birth name is : DIANA ERNESTINE EARLE ROSS. Yes, "Diana" has more pizzazz.
@@michellekirkendall818 Well, if her birth name was Diana, why did she announce her name as Diane Ross at the Copa? Then change it to Diane again. Makes no sense does it?
@@freddie3206 Remember first, sir, she is a human being. Some people give their kids a first and middle name. Some call their child by his/her middle name? In this instance, FAMILY and friends call her "Diane." Mary Wilson's 1986 book illustrates that there was a typo on the birth certificate. She said that it was meant to be "Diane." However, the birth certificate (pull up Wikipedia now, there are other books as well. This is no biggie. Her name on her bc is "Diana Ernestine Earle Ross."
i’ll be your baby love for valentine’s day flo 🥺
この画像を観て、頬笑む娘さん達。とてもいとおしく思えました。心よりの哀悼と、娘さん達のお幸せを、お祈り申し上げます。
The community should make Barry Gordy answer for Florence Ballard. Diana we need answers they treated her horribly ,imagine being to soulful for Motown. Berry told flo her voice was too soulful wtf . flo came up with the name supremes she was the lead singer before Diana back 🚪 her he voice was sexy ,musky and beautiful. Flo was the one Diana could not sing let’s be honest here we need answers for flo and baby here go your flowers. And you can hear flo lead on buttered popcorn, walk on by , and out my head. They left her penniless and on welfare they did not even allow her to keep her home and her death was suspicious . Even her ex husband and her lawyer were working for berry just tragic. We love you flo the star the one the voice 🌹🌸🌺🌷🌻🌼💐🥀🥀🌹🌼🌸🌻🌺🌷 berry you lucky I am not a relative I would still be suing you.
If it wasn't for Flo, Diana and Mary wouldn't have been in the Supremes.
Agree, and when you think of the Supremes you include Flo. No disrespect to everyone else who have been one but, it's Flo.
Oh Diane, Diane why did you take a detour????
berry gordy singled her out almost from the beinning. he drove a wedge between the 3 friends
She took a detour alright. Straight into Berry Gordy's bed. Nothing like sleeping your way to the top!
@@greenbyrdd8308 So true and she has more Berry Gordy DNA in her than he has himself. Motown really was a family...an incestual swinger's club family.
Rest in peace Florence and Mary
I'm still looking for my baby love! 💜💋💜💋 I'm waiting
Diana had to be carefully trained to be a crowd pleaser. Florence didn't need the training, she was naturally funny and likable, on top of being so shapely and elegant looking. No wonder Diana was jealous as hell of her
Tell it like it is
That's incorrect, Malcolm Marshall.
@@michellekirkendall818 …. I think Malcolm hit it right on the head. I never heard it put so succinctly. Flo had it all. She was a natural. And Diana Ross was insecure and jealous of Florence Ballard.
@@Jasper7182009 Not true. Mary Wilson's 1986 book, and Diana Ross' 1993 book explains what went on inside The Primettes and The Supremes. Many comments made are mostly gossip. The majority of the comments from those NOT born in The Supremes (or Motown) heyday. But that's no problem. Get the books, and do research. Detroit Free Press, Ebony and Jet archives tell the story. @@Jasper7182009 It's easy to pick up gossip from a commenter. That's why the misinformation continues.
Being hardworking is one thing, being calculating is another.
Ernest Chacon, Let's see, who are you referring too? I know, Diane Ross.🪱🪱🕷🕷🐊🐊
u better tell it
Fans want to see the whole show including you're nobody till somebody loves you

Yall need to let that woman rip smh its been like 50 years
Ross tried to act so Smart
she was thinking i';m gone get me the boss
Wooo The Brilliance of her talent and singing and her timing--- was exceptional.. and that pissed someone off with a lot of jealousy ... that is truth.. so much Flo had to die because of it....
reealitychick, You say her talent, singing and timing pissed someone off. Would that someone have a name Diane?
No Florence didn't have to DIE because of it! If she didn't like the terms of Berry's decision, seek a new record deal, explore other avenues! Her behavior got her booted; she suffered for eight years from a situation she created!
Faith Evans could easily play Florence Ballard!
ERICA PEEBLES of the "TRUE TO THE GAME" trilogies also a Michigan native could portray FLO as well.
Probably Flo's sister, Maxine as well.
Maybe 30 years ago. Faith is now about 20 years older than Florence was when she passed. She would have been a good choice to play her, but time got away.
Miss Diana Ross THE BOSS is my favorite. The Hit Making Miss Ross!
Back in the day when women were often defined by whether they were married "yet" or not.
It was similar to young females wanting to know marital status of the Beatles or Monkees. Just normal fan curiosity, totally harmless.
I hope she ever found her baby love
She ended up marrying the Supremes' chauffeur and he ended up being anything but a Baby Love. When the money was gone...so was he.

Why in the hell did they wanna know if tgey were married
I didn't know all three Supremes were the same age?
What year were you born in? All three were high school students when they signed their contract in July, 1961! Ross and Wilson were born 1944; Wilson is three weeks older than Ross; Ballard was born in 1943!
@@michellekirkendall818 Wilson and Ballard are no longer with us. RIP. Ross is now age 77. Jean Terrell was about the same age as Ross.
Barry Gordy is a POS for holding this lady back, hating and just simply creating delays while dissing her talent.
By the time she was 30, she wasnt even interested in singing anymore.
No telling what influence she might have had on the world.
Especially for the 80's.

Oow Ms. Florence told a tale she was a year and change older than Mary and Diane lol

She probably felt awkward saying she was the eldest..Because, I saw an interview where the other girls talked about her weight.. Insecurities were probably setting in..I personally thought she was just fine at her size..

Oh! You're such a revolutionary! And so perceptive! Truly an idiot!
No. That was their true age. I am assuming that this performance was after March (Diana's and Mary's birth month) but before June (Florence's birth month) making them all 21 at the time until Florence turned 22.

Forty or fifty years from now, young people will look at the styles of 2022 and think "Good God, what were they thinking??"
Well, what do you expect…? This back in the 60s. Lol. 😂
Florence seemed to be the least polished of the three. She was kinda hood.
Oh no, she was polished; she just needed help in decision making...that's where the polish was needed...

You would think that a "baby love" would be far from Florence's mind after so recently having the kitty forcefully battered and flooded with that horrible man's spermatazoa. Poor Flo. We love you and miss you. Looking for your baby love? Really? You need to be looking for your kitty- buster.
PensiveCzar I agree....no class.
It wasn't "so recently." Several years had passed by the time of this performance.
@PensiveCzar I agree.
She was going along with the program. Really, do you think that after a performance she would tell about her rape? Close your eyes and think about that.
