Well let's just say I like MP4 format more than MKV for compatibility reasons and I have found that with Leawo, I get the best of everything, it really is the Swiss knife of converting software. After years of testing and being frustrated when I needed a tool and the free stuff lacked it, I just said to myself, "self, you are wasting too much time, stop being so cheap and buy something that will do everything you needed it to do and more. You saved so much money on your great theater build, live a little!" So that's what I did, and it has been the best, with no regrets. If you get all you need out of Make MKV congrats... You can just purchase the Blu-ray ripper without all the extra features and you will find that if you download a trial they will send you discount pricing overtime and snag it when the best deal gets offered, that is what I did. I paid about $99 for everything.
