- Hey guys, Here is a quick video of an axle tube repair I did on a Bobcat 175 Skidsteer, way back before I got on youtube. It was one of the more challenging repairs at the time. fortunately, it worked out well. The machine was able to get back to work. If you got an extra 5min, take a quick break with this video. Enjoy, and thanks for the support in advance.

That weld underneath the tube with the 90 degree bent electrode, wow!!!! Amazing work.
I would like to see a better video of that. That is one I have never come across before. Never ocurred to me to bend one.
repair with a bent electrode and a mirror to look under the spindle that is at another level great job Isaac
I braze refrigeration piping several times with bent sil fos sticks
Never thought about bending electrodes to 90* to reach a weld underneath
Definitely thanks for tip
And he's probably laying down a weld 10 times better than my best. Awesome work!!
Whoa! That mirror weld with a bent welding rod-pure genius. Had you practiced this technique before or did you just go for it?
Unless you're a welder, you have no idea how difficult this kind of repair is. You have serious skill brother. I love the videos and am so happy to see you passing along your knowledge. Thank you
3 days later …. I’m still here binge watching this channel. Thank you for all the lessons. I’m hopeful that sometime you’ll talk about the financial aspects of the job. Thank you.
Love this idea
I can see you have a lot of training
WOW! Mirror welding around the corner. That’s impressive! Thanks for showing those clips.
Back axle, down in foot square tunnel filled with oil, chains, and sprockets and your and using a mirror to see where you're welding. 🥺 And your welds still look perfect! 👏👏👏👏
I've seen BobCat techs torch 4x5 inch holes in the ends of that chain case for much easier access to internals. They would re-purpose a common transmission inspection cover plate by drilling & tapping holes in the thick metal chain case to make it a re-uasable access hole. 👍
That looked like a tough one to do. Looks like it turned out good. I love watching your videos. You Sir are a Pro and worth every penny you charge. Hats off to you and your son.
If anyone can do those really really tough jobs after watching you for a few yrs. I have to put my money on you great work.
The Magician at work, very impressive as usual!
Smoke and Mirrors with a real outcome. Master at work.
Really neat “mirror weld.” That’s a neat trick!
Brilliant video as always buddy!
I got myself a broken bobcat and fixed it up I cheated!
I could have sworn I commented on here last night telling everyone to check out your repair video! Still blown away by how you fixed yours haha.
👍 with all those right angles it has to be right😅. Nice!
Three lefts make a Right!😄😄😄
😄👍
Holy smokes, what a place to try and get into
Thanks for the video
Bending the rod and then using a mirror - Genius! I would have never thought of that - That’s what makes you “That Guy”.
Fortunately you didn't know that making this repair under those conditions was impossible. Nothing short of amazing.
What a fantastic repair! WOW! That was tricky to the extreme. Nice job, stay safe.
That was indeed the toughest of tough! It’s all about the word “can!”
I Love your innovation by bending that rod like that and welding under the axel. Wow what an idea!
It’s always nice to see current stuff
Man, that's some real get'er done there! I just gained a new respect for stick.
WOW! Isaac you are the man! That’s incredible!
Stuff like this I wish you do a voice-over. I really enjoy your channel. The work you do is awesome.
Mirror welding!!! Next level!!! Great job!!!
You are AWSOME. You can sure make things look easy. But years of experience great job
Excellent welding!
Watching you reach into that opening with the bent electrode reminded me of the operation game trying to remove the funnybone😁
Brutal access for the weld.
Back in the Kodak days / MeTube. Thanks for sharing, awesome.
Welding in the Box and thinking Outside the Box , very cool repair !
Issac, you must have been helping a really good customer , trying to build a customer base, or really hungry to take on that project. But it looks pretty good from my view. Thanks for the old home movies we appreciate them and you.
Excellent Wielding I love the use of a mirror in welding the unseen!
Wow for the access you had that was an excellent job 👍
Bent rod welding. Cool !
My gosh that looked like a challenge. Talk about threading a needle….impressive.
Mirror welding, great skills brother
My hat is off to you sir! I’ve had to make welds with mirrors a few times. Hardest part is trying to get your hands to do the opposite of what your eyes are telling them to do.
Thank you, i learn a lot when i watch uour video and always a pleasure ,awesome👍👍👍👍
Amazing stick work
The bent rod is interesting - my neighbour (who taught me to weld) worked in the shipyards - he had a small collection of mirrors for that type of work - he told me it was common place in ship repair. Cleaning the mirrors from soot was also common place! Great work!
I often wondered how often you had to pull a rabbit out of a hat like that. Wonder no more. Absolutely fantastic!!!
I have hundreds of pictures of some pretty interesting repairs. unfortunately I wasn't able to video many of them. If there's enough interest, I can make video collages similar to this. Maybe I can combine a couple of projects to make the videos a bit longer so it would be worth the time to sit down and watch. Lets see what the comments say. 😊
@@ICWeld Do a live stream and talk about the repairs as you flip through the pictures.
@@ICWeld Any length of your video is worth the time to watch. Thank you for sharing!
@@ICWeld Don't feel you need to come up with a certain number of minutes of video time to make it worthwhile. Do what you think is right and it will definitely be worth our time to look over your shoulder. Been welding for well over 50 years and even at 72 I still enjoy learning, the journey doesn't stop.
Well at least not until they nail the lid shut. LOL
@@74willy81 they better weld it shut and check my pockets for grinders!
Nothing like standing on your head to do some blind welding! Nice job! Skid-steer = tight quarters, makes things 10 times harder than normal.
Wow, I just call that TRICK welding to impress the guys, haha. GREAT job! Thanks
Good job Isaac.
I smiled to myself when I saw those three Bobcats in and around the garage, I thought, " how appropriate". About as reliable as a Kubota!
Have you ever watched any of Andrew Camarata's videos and seen his comets on how they are built, I think he got rid of all of his, and now has a TL10 and aTL12 Takeuchi.
Life long experience in your trade makes it look simple..very knowledgeable
This is over top this top class.weld on tough spot tip my hat for this.the dealer bobcat lucky got guys like you.
I would love to see more tricky repairs, you are giving us 25 year olds some good info
Years ago I thought there was nothing worse to work on than forklifts. Then they invented skidsteers and mini-excavators. No room to do anything. Amazing that you even attempted this repair much less did it so well!
Can't beat repeat business, even when it is down in a hole. Thanks for sharing!
Extremely difficult job tackled with extreme skills yields extremly good results - COOL! 😎😎😎
Now if you'd had a crane hang you upside down I'd have been really impressed!!!!!! You were born to be in show bus... LOL
Thank You for ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS!! The Cowboy.
Amazing considering the conditions
This is some seriously challenging work!
Wow!!!
Seen the game "operation"??? Ingenious as always sir!
Isaac, that was some tough welding that most would not have attempted, another job well done
Ok! I give up! You’re too good 👍
I knew you were good, but damn. That is awesome.
Man I thought I’ve seen everything but that’s incredible your pretty awesome
What a badass welding under at a 90 wow awesome job
Now that's talent! Class job.
Thats a good weld for Mirrow welding , everything is backwards tight spot, See Ya
Amazing work for such a tight space .
Thanks for sharing
Safe travels 🙏
You are an insanely innovative and skilled welder. Plus just maybe a bit crazy....but "it ain't crazy if it works."!
As a;ways Isaac... totally amazing!
Absolutely incredible, I didn’t think that was possible 😮
A lot of sanitary stainless is done that way.😮
That rod was bent at least 120 degrees, I don't know how you did it but hats off to you!
That's what I would call close quarters welding...wow...
😲👍👍👍
Mighty fine work.
Ya I don't weld but I would never have thought to bend a electrode like that to get at a spot that's hard to reach. Well done Isaac.
👌👌👍👍 Thanks for the video.
I've had to do that same repair. Way too much fun welding with mirrors.
WOW! You are the man.
Always a "WOW" moment!
just came across this in my feed, not too bad for your first day 🤣
Pretty nice welding in tight 'corners'
Awesome job under the tube! Really tough to strike the arc. I feel your pain. Always overcome!!!🤙🏼👀
Overhead without being underneath.👍
Only acknowledged master can do that kind of job 👍👍
I have changed bearings and sprockets inside that chain case. There is room for an arm or a face, but never both at the same time.
You are "the man".
This puts you on another level. Always finding a work around for a problem and still making my welding in easy positions looking like cockie shit. People like yourself leave me in aww.
Been there done that that is one of the hardest welds to do you my friend are very good good job on that it looks like it turned out well to me when I had to weld with a mirror everything looks backwards does to you
Make it happen and get paid! Well done sir.
Holy cow. That's a tough spot. Way better than I would have done. Good work
You >truly< pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this one! Well done, Sir!
*I C Weld* Now ain't that the cats ass, bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
That was definitely a rough one....can only imagine the excitement of arcing off of a hydraulic line on the way in that access hole- 🤪😂 Nice repair!
That old 175 was rode hard!
Great job as always!
Now that was a hard job even harder for a big guy but a great job welldone 😊
A fun 1 to do..nice work
Nice work!
Man that is some good welding😊😊😊.
amazing work.
Straight up golden arm!
I doubt seriously they pay you what you’re worth… You’ve got one-of-a-kind skills
My hats off to you I did some mirror welding on a boat with a spool gun inside a box which freaking sucks cause I was fighting what I wanna do vs what I'm seeing and getting turned around trying to go the wrong direction then I destroyed the first mirror having it in the wrong spot with a terrible weld it got a lil easier after putting down a bad weld that missed most the joint once I had to grind it out using the mirror I kinda got used to moving the right direction got setup right to keep the gun where I needed it and got it done after a whole afternoon of learning 😅
Damn, we're in a tight spot!
The best…..you rock dude! Steve
I just found this channel and I like it I am a fabricator but I don't work on big metal like you guys fun to watch
Love it keep it up as always 💘
