My wife and I call you "The Professor". When we're trying to figure out how to fix anything on our RV we always ask, "What does the Professor say about that?" Thank You for these videos! We appreciate them.

Question: I recently got an older class C motorhome with the original LP detector, CCI 7719...replacement part with the solenoide valve is extremely hard to find. My old one has the 3 wire version. Do you have any suggestions on how to either bypass the solenoide or remove the solenoide so I can manually shut off if alarm goes off. There are very little information about this on UA-cam. Thanks.

I noticed you said Carbon Monoxide detector but then later called it CO2. Just to clarify for viewers, Carbon Monoxide is CO, not CO2 (which is carbon dioxide, the stuff we exhale).

@timriskus6261 nothing like correcting grammar. This can actually cause problems if you get the two confused. This guy offered useful info.

I acquired a free rv. my brother said I needed to check my lp alarm. So I did and the date on it was April 1988. Also the smoking alarm was Oct, 1987. A year or two out of date
    Will be replacing them.

I just came across this. Funny last week my 5 yr old alarm would not stop beeping. Will I just happens that my camper turned 5 yrs old this yr. But have question about Norcold fridge. I was told by other people it’s OK to run your fridge on propane even while you’re towing. But last year 2020 it stopped working. The shop said that the manufacturers said that there’s a problem with the cooling element that you should not travel with it running on propane. The shop people have said we have been doing it for years and this particular fridge almost all the campers that they have sold in the past people have been doing it this way. And still today I’m getting ready to go on a trip and I’m like asking everybody and I’m getting mixed answers. So I’m just wondering what do you think about if I can tow with running it on propane will it cause a problem again. Or have you heard anything about it.

The correct answer will be found in the operation manual for your particular refrigerator. Most refrigerator manufacturers state it is okay to operate your refrigerator on LP when driving. They state that there is enough movement in the refrigerator to keep the fluid from settling into a low spot. However, I have seen in other manuals where they state to not run your refrigerator on LP. So, find your manual for your refrigerator and follow the statement that they make for your particular model number. It's good practice to vacuum the face of detector to eliminate dust, spider webs, and especially pet hair and dander. Also don't place pet food in front of detector, it could wake u up in the middle of the night
