    The dry flush toilet refills cost over $1.00 / flush. I replaced mine with a composting toilet. It saves a lot of water not having a water flushing toilet.

    I’m glad to see American manufacturers getting into the off-road camper trailer market. I would love to see larger family trailers with 2 to 3 bunks inside. I know the larger size will prevent access to lots of areas, but being able to be fully off grid on a forest trail or deep into BLM land would be great.
    I love seeing solar, DC appliances, better suspension and modern interior designs.

    This is an incredible made in USA trailer! However, though a little longer, (21.7") the Australian MDC XT16HR E/W is very capable for those not going to Alaska in February. The $45K+/- difference in cost can finance a LOT of trips. Upgrading the battery capacity on the MDC would allow it to go to the majority of places the XPlore can go. It's great to have fine options in trailers that were not available just 5 years ago in America!

    Major oversights. One burner stove and small refrigerator. And who needs a sink that big with no cover to use as work space? This will do for weekend outings. I am sure a deal breaker for many.

    It's nice to see better built and EV options coming into the RV market but I'm, personally, put off by a company rebadging the house batteries with their name instead of, I assume, just buying the best in the market (Lithionics) and increasing the price.

    Interesting trailer. Curious, is there a specific DC-Dc charger from the tow vehicle to the trailer to charge those high-capacity batteries while driving?
    I ask as when we designed our custom off-road teardrop, I installed a 30ah dc-dc charger and a 2-pin 175a Anderson plug on both the JLUR and trailer. Best thing I ever did.

      It currently has 50amps at 12volts. And the solar continues to charge while driving

    Where from or what is the source and or reason water was pouring out from the drivers side of the camper between the nautilus compartment and wheel at 20:05 ?

    I just have to say that this felt like a paid infomercial to me. Yes, he threw in a couple of extremely minor negatives at the end, but overall (and given the massive amount of advertising on Expedition Portal), I have to wonder if this was sponsored. I hope I’m wrong.

    Um yeah I'll pass on the EV and the camper is really nice but needs an outdoor kitchen and a 270 degree awning.

    I'm sorry, but doing anything worth while camping should be with a conventional vehicle. EVs are one of those fads that don't make any sense.

    • @VnazT
      @VnazT Рік тому +2

      I used to share this same opinion but the technology is changing so fast. With additional solar panels, the trailer can charge during the day while you’re out hiking or mt biking. Or you can charge the EV while at a campground with 30amp service, even if the campground doesn’t have direct EV charging facilities.
      The biggest limitation is cost. And if your recreation style is primarily driving, you’re right, there’s no way it can keep an EV charged.
      But it you’re primarily using it as a base station from which to run, hike, paddle,pedal, or clime, it can probably do the job, although at a cost. The riven plus the camper is probably pushing 300k.

      Yet we went camping with an EV on a challenging trail to a remote location. One is not better than the other, it is just another option. And EV is hardly a fad, as EVs actually predate ICEs ;)
