I’m excited to see what lies ahead. I appreciate how you break things down and allow us to see the intended meaning of the scriptures. I pray God’s blessings in all that you do and his will be done. ❤
This was a great start. I didn’t know about the shepherds and the connection swaddling clothes made to the lambs sacrificed in the temple. My goal is to learn something new daily and to grow closer to God by doing this Bible study. The lineage in Luke is from Joseph’s side of the family but the lineage in Matthew is from Mary’s side of the family. Learned that when taking a class on the gospels in college. There is a difference in questioning God and asking God a question. Have the faith to believe then ask the question. That was good.
Amazing Day 1 ! I especially loved the connections established between the old and New Testament like Jesus being the Lamb of God and how He was wrapped in cloth similar to what Levitical shepherds used for sacrificial lambs. It’s a reminder of how much God is at work behind the scenes…love the nerdy nuggets 👏🏾
So many takeaways! The first time I have ever understood " the Lamb of God". 2:12, I always read it as a baby swaddled, the context really opened my eyes.
That's the idea Capri! When you dig into the Bible this way, it's like seeing color when you've only seen black & white for years. We praying for you on your journey with us this year!
This was a good first start! My mind is still blown regarding how the birth of Jesus was a sign to the Levitical Shepards that they’ve seen the Messiah. Thank you for breaking this down 🤯
@@thebibledept YES SIR 🙏🏾 🙌🏾 I'M PART OF ARMA COMMUNITIES ALREADY, I DONT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THIS UA-cam Name yet lol but I'M BREANNA BURT FROM HUNTSVILLE Been with arma family for a year now 🎉😎 DEFINITELY SEE YOU TOMORROW 👏🏾
Day 1 complete! I’m super happy that I picked up on a lot of nerdy nuggets before watching the video. The ones I didn’t was the , Shepherd lamb nugget and Jesus dying to himself at 12. That’s where the doctorate came in 😅
My takeaway (the rest is on Arma- you should join) Jesus's occupation is a Stone maker. I was reminded of this as i just completed watching The real Jesus of Nazareth (series).
I think the wording is a tad off there at 11:51 If you believe women should be able to pastor, the correct term is egalitarian (in contrast to complementarian). If you're saying that women can be in ministry, most Christians not just charismatics believe this and practice this. Egalitarianism has little to do with a person being pentecostal but rather the idea that a person MAY have interpreted clear scriptures that forbid women to usurp the authority of a man as not applying to all circumstances or as not literal. Could you clarify if this is what you were referring to? As previously stated, It is important to note that even complementarians believe that women can do ministry. The difference is that complementarians believe that women have specific roles, and those roles do not include authority over a man. Most non-charismatics are usually complementarian in their theology but have females secretaries, mission workers, children workers, etc., on staff. So the idea that only pentacostals believe women can be in ministry is not the best representation of their stance. Some non-pentacostals are egalitarian and likewise. . . There are several pentacostals that are complimentarian and not egalitarian. (Deborah was an advisor to Barak and a Prophetess/Judge to Israel not a pastor, Mary was a mother and follower of Jesus, Anna was a prophetess and intercessor. None of the women listed were pastors but were still in "ministry")
Great question Monique! We actually have a whole course on this, "Women In Ministry," inside the ARMA Platform, where we go into ALL of this! Check it out. armacourses.com
Questioning God and asking God a question are worlds apart! 🗝️ Exciting to journey through the Bible this year! Thank you!🙏🏾

Don't question God have faith first then ask questions!!! Wow!!! FIRE!!!
Seems like a simple adjustment, but it changes EVERYTHING!
The chicken nuggets on Levitical Shepherds offered amazing insights! I'm really looking forward to the days ahead!
So many chicken nuggies.
Day 1! Maaan what a word. Jesus is invites all of humanity into the kingdom of God by being born to die , that cultural context is golden !
HERE WE GO! Context is king.
