On 9 November 1995, the pilot of an F-15A (SN 76-0061/SL), call-sign "Misty One", experienced an engine fire in the right engine. The pilot shuts down the engine, but the fire continues, as observed by his wingman, "Misty Two". He declares an emergency and heads to nearby Whiteman AFB in Missouri.
He touches down at very high speed (260 knots), but can't get it stopped on the available runway and ejects just as the plane exits the departure end of the runway. The pilot is very professional in handling this emergency: listen to his rate of respiration.

That was incredible man. Thanks for that audio. Absolutely fascinating. Don’t worry about the hater that are popping off about the graphics. This was about audio and these people aren’t the happiest. Keep killing it. Love the work 🙏🏼

It was news 30 years ago. In fact, it’s all over UA-cam . I wouldn’t be surprised if you just copied somebody else’s video and reposted it.

I don’t know if the graphical depiction of this is correct, but the winds were Southerly, gusting up to 31 kts and he landed to the North!!

If that's how it went, it's still not the worst decision that he made. The -1 says that if you activate in-frame fire extinguishers and the fire continues to burn, you point the jet to an unpopulated area and eject. By all accounts he's a good guy and a good pilot, too bad he chose to listen to HORRIBLE advice. His career ended badly (luckily he had the years to retire) and I'm betting his team didn't come through unscathed. When he ejected just as the jet was over-running the runway, the crashing jet still moving at over 200 knots went across the runway perimeter road and crashed across a state highway, thank god nobody was killed. The HUD video of this mishap is still used as training for what not to do.

I am wondering why he took the trouble to make an overspeed emergy landing if he ejects anyway, couldn't he eject earlier then?

Probably trying to save a multi-million dollar aircraft and doing all possible to get somewhere it won't crash into populated areas.

Whose airplane is giving the bingo fuel annunciation? The jet that's no longer occupied, or the wingman?

WHY SHOW A HARRIER IN THE POST BUT SAY THE STORY IS ABOUT A F-15?? BIG DIFFERENCE
