  • I've left the comfort zone to train inverted flight and I've paid a price: 3 helis were waiting on my shelf for repairs after hard crashes and my little OMPHOBBY M1 EVO is lost in the forrest after going down. Even after many hours searching with my wife there is not the slightest trace. It just "disappered". Now it's high time to change something: To have more fun and to reduce my ambitions. I give myself more trime to learn inverted flight in the right pace! Now I am training going inverted from loops and backflips and to safely return to upright again. Inverted hover training can wait until I am having the transitions in my blood. It's safer and will help me to keep my remaining helis in one piece. And who knows: Maybe one day I will find my little almost by chance.

    I love your attitude. I also am trying to learn and never want to forget that its all a balance between learning and fun. If you strike it right, your never in a rush.

      @Yodecaf Thank you so much! Yes it's strange that sometimes when beeing too ambitous the fun aspect goes into the background! Although this should be mainly or even always fun!! Thanks for undestanding and sharing my point! Happy flights!!

      @user-fb Yes, I will look from time to time. It's just frustrationg because I think I already know every single beer can, bottle or even the leaves on the ground like my pocket. Right now I have no idea where to look again... but once I found a M2 V2 after two week in the rain. It flies till today... well after the repair it will again... :D

    Sad to hear that you lost your M1
    Didnt it start beeping when you disconnected your radio?
    A good trick is turning the radio off wait for it to start beeping.
    If it doesnt beep turn the radio back on and wait for the initialization sound. (Hoping you're close enough to hear it beep)
    Hope you find it back some day!
    For bigger helicopters you could also buy a Lost Alarm Beeper or a small GPS tracking unit. The GPS units are not always as accurate as you would want it to be but they give you a good enough indication where the model could be located.
    I see that your loopings and figure 8's have improved significantly.
    Stay happy, stay flying. Greetings from the beautiful Netherlands.

      @whirlybirdrc Thank you for the tips! I have tried them all meanwhile. Unfortunately wether my wife nor I did not hear any beeping. Also the iniatilazion sound... when switching the radio off and on. It is really strange. I was moving the sticks as well, turning on and off throttle hold... Nothing. I ordered a little VIFLY Buzzer and will use it. And I still have the hope that I will find my sweet M1 EVO onne day completely by chance! All the best greetings! My Love for flying is much bigger than the frustration because of this loss. All the best for you!!

    A shame about the M1 Matthias but as you say, it hurts to keep the motivation going but, turn it into a strength - you won't try it again eh? Thing is, if 100% is your very best flying at full challenge then fly at 75% and leave room for error or getting out of situations. Your flying has come on really well and crashing and even losing Heli's is part of the journey you are on but, I know you know this. Keep that chin up, fly well my friend, you are doing so! Regards

      @HeliShed Thank you my friend for the good words and support! Of course I keep my chin up and go on! Just beeing less obsessed by ambitions to leran faster than possible. By the way! I have ordered the small VIFLY Buzzer finder you recommended me and I will strap it on the heli I fly and this hopefully will spare me losing another in the future!! At the moment anyway the weather is the worst problem: It's raining and raining, verythig is soaking wet! Mudd everywhere! Spring has to show up!! :) Best greetings!!

    Very nice! I'm absolutely unable to fly and comment 😄 Keep going! BTW in the beginning I've just used rescue to go from inverted to normal. That simplifies things and gives a little bit of confidence, also improves rescue activation reflex :)

      Thank you very much! It's very strange: I am a Bass player and I am unable to play my bass and talk at the same time.... but when flying my helis I can tell whole stories! Yesterday for the first time I felt very comfortable when I was doing Immelmann like maneurers with my M2 EVO and even with my little M1! Although there was quite strong wind. That was a beautiful feeling. Going home with all helis in one piece. It is so rewarding when you feel that one day you can do some things comfortable with which you were before struggeling for a long time. Then all of a sudden it makes "click". These moments are absolutelyu magical!! All the best and thank you for your kind words!

      @@RCCopterLove Yeah, it's a great combo feeling to return home with helis in one piece and after doing some maneuvers with confidence and joy! 😄 Love that 😄. UR welcome :)

    Hello Mathias I am 68 years old and took me a long time to fly and control inverted and doing several 3d tricks , but as you say , if you keep going on with passion it ill come , it will¡ just keep it up and of course the simulator is a must , there is the AccuRc simulator has the M2 and helps a lot to improve your skills on this tiny model

      @RCCopterLove  7 місяців тому +1

      @arturosierra Thank you very much for your encouragement and your positive example! I know that inverted flying will needs some time to get it really good because EVERYTHING is different from upright flight! Great that you got there!! And Yes, I am useing AccuRC since Christmas and I love it! It's a great help and I am using smaller and smaller helis in the sim to get closer to the real thing! I wish you many great flights and a lot if fun!!

    Hi, I lost my M2 in the forest on our property, used my drone to find it - up in the canopy. Do you have a pal with a drone? Love your videos. 👍🏻

      @RCCopterLove  7 місяців тому +1

      Good for you that you finally found your M2!! unfortunately this forrest and woods are very tight, close... I guess it would be difficult to find it with a drone... And I dont know drone pilots.... I will look from time to time and maybe one day! Glad you like my videos!!

    Hey buddy. I'm sorry you lost an M1. Maybe this will help a bit. I lost an M2 Explore in a terrible flying site I chose once, and never found it again. I even pulled out a Drone to go over the area for over 2 hours and still couldn't find it. I looked at it like, well maybe someone will come across it one day, repair it if possible, and start flying RC Helicopters LOL. Never know.

      @AnythingEverythingRC Thank you for sharing your sad story! Now I am not feeling so alone. Today I was flying again and after packing my helis IN ONE PIECE!! I decided to look again... for the 10th time or so.... Nothing. It's a good approach to think maybe one guy finds my seet little M1 EVO one day and starts to fly (after repair). I like this thought! I just avoid letting my helis be blown away too far while trying to hover them inverted at any cost!! I have to close this chapter and I am going on. Sometimes if you tisk you loose! Best gretings!

    Well done buddy, keep at it 👏 👍🏻. Sorry to hear you lost your m1 evo that's not good. 🤞the weather gets better for you and you start to fly more frequently especially with the m4 and max. Oh I've treated myself to a new bigger heli. Build video to come soon mate. Happy and safe flying my friend 👍🏻🚁🚁🚁

      @Rcheliguy Thank you for your good words and empathy! Yes, it's hurts to know that my little sweety is out there. I have probably searched for much more than 10 hours alltogether everywehre: In the crowns of the trees, between bushes, leaves... The worst is I ugraded the servos to rather expensive metal case servos... double loss! The weather is really bad right now. Almost every day rain. But it will be better! :D

      @deepVAroots Thank for sharing that yuu had as well a lost M1! I am having as well plenty more: 5 M2's of all kinds, 2 more "old" M1's and my loved M4 and M4 Max! Now I have bought s small and light VIFLY Beacon beeper which beeps loud if he registeres a crash... And of course I have never ever crashed since then!! :D
