    Great printing technique! Is that foam the kind of foam meat is packed on, but much thinner?
    I liked all of them; using embossing folders gives a neat look, by hand gives it a whimsical look. I love both! Also the lace and the mesh ribbon gives amazing effect. Where did you find that wide mes ribbon? Thank you for sharing all your amazing ideas👍

    Love this! Just wondering, do you happen to know how do these print plates differ from fun foam? Do they take texture/embossing better than foam sheets? Are they a stiffer material? They look fun!

    • @rtd1791
      @rtd1791 11 місяців тому +2

      I have never tried to emboss fun foam without heating it first. You can heat the foam and then press an EF against it. I doubt it would remain malleable long enough to run it through a die cutting machine. I could be wrong though.
      I’ve also never tried using an EF to emboss fun foam without heating it first. Usually I die cut fun foam or mark it up with tools--especially wood burning tools in order to make stamps.
      Fun foam is more elastic than these foam plates. These foam plates are polystyrene like Styrofoam cups and take out containers. Fun foam is EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) like floor mats and flip flops. There are different kinds of EVA and they vary by the ratio of ethylene to vinyl acetate. Fun fact: Hot glue is EVA too. So is Simon Hurley’s Stamping Block line.
      Probably more than you wanted to know. I’m going to buy some of the Inovart foam sheets and compare it to fun foam. I have a ton of fun foam because I got the notion to make stamps from all of my dies a while back. I’ll try embossing fun foam with an embossing folder and let you know how it goes. Once I get the polystyrene sheets, I’m going to try die cutting them as well.

      Lovely! Thank you for the information. I have a ton of foam sheets too….lol. I have used them as stamps, & what not, although, I’ve never used heat on them, nor sent them through an embossing folder. I guess I’ll have to order some of these printing plates & play as well. Thank you again….🌺

      Hello! I think I know what fun foam is and this is different than that. It is like styrofoam so it does take etching and impressions better. It is stiffer, yes

    These ideas are wonderful. You may want to consider re-uploading your video, though. The multitrack voice-over is often unintelligible and always distracting. I personally found it so annoying that I ended up muting the sound and viewing the subtitles. But otherwise, nice ideas for embossing textures and printmaking. You could also use these plates subtractively on an inked gel plate.
