Great video & set-up. This reminded me that I have owed Jan a thank-you for a while now. I slept overnight in a rest area last month. When I went to crawl into the back, it occurred to me, in a slight panic, that I couldn’t/shouldn’t put my step stool outside on the ground because it wouldn’t be there in the morning. Then I remembered seeing Jan’s entry method and it worked like a charm💖
If you leave a path from the front to the back, that's not even an issue. Then if you have a scary situation you don't have to figure out how to get into the driver's seat to drive away without making yourself vulnerable. Stay safe out there!
When I saw you put the lights around your neck, I realized I had one tucked away in a drawer. I had thought I could use it to read when the power went out but it didn’t work well for that. I pulled it out and it has been a great solution to a problem that has been aggravating me for a while. Our mail is being delivered after dark now and the area around my mailbox where he usually throws packages on the ground is beyond the illumination of my porch light. Holding my phone for illumination in one hand made it quite challenging to see the pathway while carrying packages back to the house. Now I use the light that goes around my neck and am so thankful for Jan and her great ideas whenever I hit the darkness. The mailman is collecting some pretty bad karma while Jan is constantly adding to her collection of good. Thanks Jan!
What a great set up love the bedding sheets , The shelves at the back and table. Little wood burner stove look very cool touch .Awesome idea for the floor , love the fridge What an epic van build well done Jan, looks like plenty of room and plenty of room to move about and be comfy . Amazing you can do up a van for me anytime girl. !
Nice set up - I also have the stansport and I love it. I am a traveler as well more than a camper. I love my Prius V because I can go shop lock the door and leave the climate control on and the puppies are quite comfortable. I am so looking forward to hitting the road again.
I ordered Jan’s lounge chair to use as my bed frame. My trip to AZ will be my first trip out with it. I tested it in my garage and I am ever so hopeful, and excited, about my restful nights ahead of me! Also, it weighs close to nothing! Bonus! 😊
I see the original butterfly🦋 staying put for a spell. Enjoying her surroundings as much as her viewers enjoy a "sighting" of her. Then she's off again traveling the highways & byways. Flying free with thoughts just as free. Flitting here and there, or roaming when curious enough or with a purpose in mind. Wishing Jan safe adventures always❤.
Great tour! I know those drawers are great for easy access! I copied Jan's idea with the office chair mat on the floor. That was a game changer. The folding table is something I may need too! 😀
Thank you for the tour of Jan's van. I wonder if the standsport potty is a separating toilet or not. I love the bumper boxbut I was gifted a Harbor Freight bumper tray with a diamond plate truck box bolted to it that works really well so I doubt I will upgrade to a nicer one. I agree that it is much safer than a roof box for anyone over 60. I have parked overnight in some upscale neighborhoods ond even with the bumper box I was not distributed, but I came after dark, was not parked in front of anyone's house and was gone before or at sunrise. I can't even park my classic, ie old, class b van at a trailhead and go for a hike without getting the knock... I would not even consider trying to stealth park overnight in a neighborhood. Thank you again for the tour.
Jan I love your setup , I’m getting ready to start packing up my van for Arizona. Where did you get the screens for your windows, I can’t find the size I need for my odyssey, sent back 2 different sets, their measurements did not fit ! Hoping to meet up in Quartzsite soon ! 🙋🏻♀️
Hi great video. My 2023 Toyota Sienna Hybrid has been a pain to camp in. The low ceiling for a tall aging person with low back stenosis is not good. The gas mileage is great. I am grateful for what I have. Given a choice, I would choose a higher ceiling without the video monitor. I liked how the person used the container as a pivot point. Much success on your channel!
I have a '23 WITH the sunroof and wouldnt trade the magnificent light and sky-view, besides, when it's open, i bet there's more headroom in that half of the van than the vans without. (I'd love the 2nd and 3rd row grabhandles, though, which mine doesnt have.😢)
I like this setup. I was going to set mine up like this but my only concern is she can’t see out the back hatch. Everyone says they really value being able to sit or lie in bed and look out the back hatch at the scenery. Does she miss that? Oh, I will also say stealth is more important for people who urban camp in the city. People who live in their vehicles are seen as homeless by society and predators. Homeless people, especially women, are targeted and in more danger than the average person. Criminals also target vehicles that are lived in more than the average vehicle because lived in vehicles generally have more valuables in them. Jan is older, she does campgrounds more than parking lots, and she travels with others so people need to consider all of that before thinking they can throw stealth out the window when staying in cities.
I love the look and convenience of those shelves and the containers, but my concern was safety. Not only does this completely block the entire rear view out of the vehicle (which is illegal in some states) making it much harder to navigate traffic safely, but as you said it also prevents you from seeing out when you are boondocking somewhere beautiful. Also on the safety side, it prevents you from seeing someone approaching your rig when you're inside doing something with the door open. Unfortunately, there are enough bad actors out there that everyone living #vanlife, including men, needs to remain aware of their surroundings at all times. I would say this is at least doubly true for females.
@ Safety isn’t a big deal for me. There are numerous vans, trailers, and RVs that don’t have windows in the back. In every state I know of, minivans are considered vans so they’re not required to have back windows. Plus there are hundreds of thousands of commercial vans on the road, with no back windows, and they’re driven just fine. I keep my side and back windows covered at all times to hide my build. I definitely had to get use to driving only using my side mirrors, but once I did, driving was easy. I just really want to know if she misses being able to see the scenery.
@@jayneweathers me, yes, i like being able to get to my seat and go too. Janet just simply doesn't let fear take her freedom from her. Mind over matter.
Solar rechargeable motion sensor lights turn on when anything moves within their range and stay on until movement stops. If you place them underneath or around your vehicle, the theory is that it will deter mice. I've seen a literal houseful of cats not deter mice, but's it's always worth a shot.

I love these tours. I just always wish that the person who owns the rig will share their height.😊 It would be so helpful.
I believe she mentioned on her channel that shes 5'6".
@lovnmyself thank you 🙂

Beautiful Van redo. Jan did an awesome job. Her choices of items 👏 are really nice quality and functional to use. Love ❤ that.
She knows how it's done for sure!
Great Video!

Hi Jan and Debbie Jeanne 🙋♀️ Enjoyed the video, nice build ❤️❤😊
🤗
I learned the value of a key lanyard at my first meetup and Jan was there. But, only after 3 ladies locked their keys in the car!
Nice video! Love it 😍
Thanks for the video!! Happy to see the OG Butterfly new tour! Can you kindly post product links?
What a great video. Safe travels although I realize you are probably at home with family this time of year. 🙏❤

@anitasimmons3599 on the potty, she did mention the option of just dumping the #1 so I believe so.
Lovely van-home. Please add a link to the pest repellent.

I am in Ontario, Canada where Walmart allows my dog inside, anywhere, anytime. No issues!
I'm in NJ and I take my dog into the Walmart stores near me all of the time. In fact, so many people love her and love seeing her in the stores.
I have to use the lanyard or I would lose the key for sure...lol

So no scary stories? If you had to leave fast can you climb to your front seat? These fears are what keeps me from trying this.

I don’t see information on her items in her van.

What are the lights she is referring to to deter mice? Please show what it is.
@@juliepark4717 ill get that link.
