I have found this series so relaxing to watch, its refreshing to hear your thought processes jumping around (wanting to eat the pumpkin, desire to move to the Pomegranates) contrasted to the intense analysis you put into the smallest detail of a color choice in an area of shade. Thank you.
Thanks, Paul! One of the problems I have is that the hamster inside the brain never seems to stop running on the wheel! That often means that once I can see the finished painting completed in my mind, I lose interest in physically finishing it. Not a helpful trait! (hence the pomegranate comment). Once I recognize that, I usually make myself work on the finishing for several hours at a time, and then reward myself by working on something at a more fun stage (such as starting a new piece). But also, in the case of perishable models, urgency is a concern. It is also not helpful because even at the end, something in the materials used may surprise the artist and thus, my "finished version" may not end up being the actual one. I took the painting out into the sunshine the other day and that gave me feedback to change the idea back to the original thought: showing more colors among the more realistic ones. It is difficult not to drift back to what I know and remember that my intention was to push my own boundaries and try something new to me. I am glad you find these videos relaxing. :-)
