The one you have been waiting for - DJI Phantom GPS Drone in Ready to Fly Package!
You don't see many GPS Drone on the market in RTF package, because usually GPS Drone involves many setup, they are really complex and trouble for causal players. There for DJI came up with a solution, they launch the Phantom - the All-in-one GPS Drone with GoPro camera mount, this is a great news for every players, the Phantom is so easy to fly, and it gives you the ultimate and most simple aerial filming solution you can find on the market. The Phantom is well packed and came assembled, simply put on the landing skids and the GoPro camera mount, then you do some basic calibration according to the online manual and you are ready to fly.
GPS on a drone? What about it?
Take her out to a clean and open space (no buildings within 200m range), best with 180 degrees open sky, wait until she found all 7 satellites, now you can fly in GPS mode. What is GPS mode? Simply saying, she can hold in one position ( ~1 meter accuracy) and stay there forever, when you switch off transmitter, it comes back to where it take off, that's the power of GPS guidance. With GPS mode, you can shoot really cool video like professionals, really stable and vibration free, you can take her very high and scouting the neighborhood, taking stunning footage of tree tops and mountains.... this little white Phantom can do it with style, and super easy to operate! The best part is "Go home and Land", when you lost sight or messed up the Head and Tail of this baby, don't worry, simply shut off the transmitter, it will come back to where it lift off, this is called "Enhanced Fail Safe". Another sweet function is called the "Course Lock", when you are hovering the drone in normal 12 o'clock direction, you switch the drone to Course Lock mode, it will remember where you stand, no matter where the drone is pointing at, you can still control the drone just like standing behind it, that means you pull back the elevator stick, it will still come back to you. this is a good function for people who always mix up headings.
Experiencing on the Phantom
The Phantom is really stable and easy to fly, thanks to the GPS and the good quality Gyro, with good GPS signal it can really stay at one spot. However, we have some experience to share with you. We say DO NOT trust the GPS fully, in our experience, the GPS signal is easily affect by environmental factor, like bad weather or tall buildings, we recommend you only fly the Phantom in country side (no tall buildings or big trees in 200m range) with very big sky clearance, the Phantom can get good GPS signal and minimize the chance crashing. DO NOT fly the drone too high, because the higher the place, the bigger the wind, we said that the Phantom is stable, but hey... it can't fight the nature, it CANNOT fight big wind. Also, be a responsible flyer, always fly this drone within eye sight, do not always fly it out of sight and rely on the Go Home and Land function, this could cause danger to others. In conclusion, just keep mind that playing the Phantom within limits, you will have a great experience flying it.

Dig mine out today and decided to take it up for old times sake. Had to come here to refresh my memory of the pre flight procedures. Thanks for the refresher.
mine also, but mine does this annoying flashing yellow light and beeping from hell, do u know what to do with this?
@@poke6983 it’s been awhile, but it seems that if you plug in the battery before turning on the radio that will happen.
@@stephen1991 ah i see, i still have to update it
Apparently mine was opened to do a check before sending it out, and they sadly forgot to put the instructions back. This video was EXACTLY what I needed, thank you!!
Thank you #Helipal this was the best (simplest) explanation of how to calibrate the compass!! I am a Canadian, doing research in Ireland. One of my motors failed and you were so efficient, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with, when I ordered replacement parts, even when Paypal was being difficult. Thanks again, a VERY satisfied customer
You're welcome and thanks for your support!
Nice to see a professional video on setting the GPS. Clear and to the point! Bravo!!
Flew mine for the first time yesterday. I wish I had found this video yesterday, I figure I really need to calibrate the compass, because right now it doesn't exactly hover in place, instead it wanders forward and to the right. Can't wait to get back out there now. Thanks!
I live over here in Denham Springs. I got it flying and added my gimbal recently. Made a few modifications with carbon fiber blades and getting some really good footage. Learning now how to edit videos to post. Have fun flying
Thanks for your kind support :)
btw. to shut it off you need to move both sticks to lower left or right position...in case some folks are still wondering.
This is excellent for a beginner like me. Do you have similar videos for how to do home lock, course lock, return home, etc?
Check out our channel and you can found all of them :)
Dear Friend,
We are glad to tell you that it doesn't need to calibrate everytime :P
Great video, just wonder do I have to calibrate every time I fly?
Yes, always calibrate before your fly as your bird is not cheap :)
Большое спасибо из России!Все очень доступно и понятно..!
Thanks for your support. :)
Hi, is it necessary to calibrate the compass every time i want to fly the dji phantom?
Thanks for the tips. The problem i am having is that once I do my vertical rotation, the light flashes a slow yellow. I am assuming this means it didn't calibrate because the motors will not work. Any suggestions?
THANKS FOR THE HELP I JUST GOT THE FC40 NOT THE BEST OF THE NEW ONES BUT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME RIGHT NOW.
Jesus christ, turn off your capslock. Even your username is in caps.
MOGBOY YOU GONNA BE OK BUDDY
IRISH MIKE AHHHH NO IM NOT. NOW MY CAPSLOCK IS ON. SEE WHAT YOU HAVE CAUSED!?!?!?!
I've bought a 2nd hand Phantom and it doesn't have a compass module on the landing gear. How is this likely to effect the flight characteristics? I think it's been taken apart at some point as the top fuselage is on backwards and there are no red stickers on it.
Never had any problem with helipal
I need to calibrate the Phantom every time they fly? Thank you.
good video straight to the point no more no less
me drone doesn't go up and the calibrating went good,he fals trought one side and then we haven't the control to put the power off
What are the symptoms of the phantom to know if you need to calibrate it? I have noticed that it drifts off a bit when in GPS mode; -- would that be an indication to calibrate? Thank you for the videos!
The best way is to calibrate it before each flight :)
That's fine. And thank you. But what will be the signs that a calibration is needed? Does the craft float away? Does it not seem to not lock onto the satellites? Thanks again!
Great video.. Nice and simple. Thanks
which gimbal/camera mount are you using for your gopro, helipal?
Execente video, mejor imposible!!! gracias!
do u have to do the gps procedure every time u change locations???
how do u get ur joystick to rest down my keeps going to the middle and doesint let the throttle rest down like that.
Great video!
So many is doing there compass dance wrong sure it works but the people who designed them show hold flat rotate clock wise , then face the front or nose down and rotate clock wise again till green light goes out. hen its set place it on ground unplug batt to cycle system plug in wait for proper lights and fly. This should be done at each new location you go or the start of every new day of fun. Some on here talking about there sticks being centered well thats a good thing help you fly and hoover better and landing, to many pull there throttle stick down trying to get there craft to come down and this on some systems will stop your motors completely same when powering up there motors keep stopping they dont know why , so now everyone is looking to make there transmitters with self centering throttle sticks. And once a month I do it weekly do a complete calibration from craft , transmitter compass all. Better safe than sorry. And flight times can be increased if you calibrate your batt in your naza assistant. And thinking 2 batts will be better than one is not right. The weight will just hurt you more and the motors are weak as it is in most DJI Phantoms. the new Zippy 2800 batts out by Hobbyking help on maybe 1 minute flight times but the big new deal is "ONLY" if you have 2 ccw motors and 2cw motors , is buy some after market VISION props and most are getting 3 more minutes flight times.
Oh yeah... COUNTER clockwise. That's what I forgot, and that is probably why I didn't get a flashing green light when I was done.
Fabulous video, thanks,
If without that compass, it's meaningless for your DJI and all the selling points of its GPS are gone. So please get a new GPS and we'll launch it asap. Please kindly check our website later, thanks.
Nice vid ! How do u oil the motors bearings etc thsnks I got dji phantom1 cheers
We never do that ......
what does rapid flashing green means when you try to start the motor (motor did not start)
How much did you buy it for ? the second hand phantom ? may i ask.
Got that much. How do you turn the damn thing off? With the RC power off the blades are still running.
is this calibration everytime you fly?
How Long can it fly
Could you let me know where can i buy this product ?? Thanks a lot ~~
Dope fresh nation to the rescue!!
mi phantom 2 vision: en el modo de calibracion, queda la luz roja amarilla... y no se calibra, ayuda porfavor
I'm 3 hours into this thing and still haven't even seen a blade rotate. Does it really do anything or is this just an expensive LED light fixture. I've never seen so many flashing lights.
Maybe you should type in "DJI Phantom Flying"
I went through that hell too. I found a DJI Phantom group on Facebook. Over the course of an afternoon they had me flying. The instructions that come with the Phantom leave a little to be desired.
If you guys live anywhere near Louisiana, I would gladly make the drive to get some tips on how to get this damn thing to fly. Very frustrating.
leaboy2 Where in Louisiana? Iam by Slidell...
What does Green and two red mean?
Dont have video receiver ??
my drone gives a red, green, yellow flash. any help?
How much is it
Que lindo ya tengo uno solo que estoy nobato para usarlo necesito ayuda
Hi there. Do I have to set up the GPS everytime I flight my phantom?
Thank you .
chinowong69 DJI recommend everytime to do that before flight.
mine only flashes yellow...i can't even use mine and not even used it yet...just turn it all on...and after a few flashes of green and red just a pulsing yellow....which i think is something to do with Transmitter signal lost i think, unless i am missing something
You can contact us by info@helipal.com and colleague will be there to assist you
do i have to do that every time i turn it on?
No
It's fine until i have to point it up and turn ccw, then it flashes red instead of green :(
I'm getting the same thing. How did you fix this issue?
***** You guys may reference the video from DJI for your problem.
DJI Phantom Resetting the Compass of the DJI Phantom when Calibration fails
I have the same problem.
Where did you get the raw material from to build it?
Yasemin Akay i don't believe you can, the dji is an expensive quadcopter, mine was pre-assembled when arrived , just had to install the legs, props, plug it into the computer and do a calibration, then i was set to fly
hi, I bought the helicopter last december 2013. when i first fly the fly was great!!!!!
then i istalled the new update 1.08 and i have troubles. I can not calibrate any longer, y follow all the items and procedures from tutorials and after the light green, the second step after moving S1 up and down 10 times, the ligh goes normal, en after rotating the helicopter whith the green ligt up i turned 360 degrees and the ligh is flashing yellow and red. in the screen of my cel says NEEDS COMPASS CALIBRATION.
I tried a lot of time, following the tutorial with the magnetic item near the compass inthe helicopter, the values in the window of control are; 170 120 160 and mode: 2560.
what can i do? the last updates are ok, the RC control and the version 1.08
thanks
After you updated the firmware did you upload the default configuration file to the Phantom? I had no idea I was supposed to do this since they don't include any documents at all in the box. I guess it would drive the price up far too high to include one piece of paper with basic instructions on it
***** Agreed. I have been so frustrated this entire weekend trying to get my new $500.00 toy to fly and it doesn't do squat. When I do my vertical rotation to calibrate, it flashes a slow yellow. Any suggestions? Thanks.
leaboy2 hi, well to calibrate te compass i hade many troubles. i use al old magnet around the compass with the phantom conected tu the pc via an usb wire. i could see the numbers changing up and down with the magnet around the compass. then i disconect the usb, did all the procedures to fly, calibrate, green then the phantom in the up position, and finally the flashes to yellow and white, then green ready with the gps.
please, try the magnet. you will calibrate!!!
our other DJI Phantom video has demo of the Course Lock function. For Home Lock, that's very similar to Course Lock.
I bought a transmitter for my phantom 1 and it will not link up to the drone. I calibrated the remote and when I push the link button inside the drone until it flashes, I then push the throttle to the lowest position and turn it on, and the drone just goes back to the solid red LED. I have updated the firmware and reset the parameters on the drone. Has anybody else encountered this issue?
HOW ABOUT "after", CCR Vertical, the light is solid RED, What is that mean??, I have done three times and I am getting RED light SOLID, doesnt even flash, What is that mean.
hook it to your computer and calibrate it
heli pal i need help from you plz help
hey in last time i get only red fast flash light what happen any solution from you ../?
?
+Dorje Lama Please contact info@helipal.com and our colleagues will be there to help you.
Can someone help, I turn on my phantom 1 and it goes a yellow blinking light really slow. Does anyone know what that means.
it didnt flash green at all when trying to calibrate. so i turn it on and fly it 6 feet up. then i hold it and turn my controller of to see if it will land. i see its flying away so i jump and catch it. i turn my controller back on and nothing happens when trying to turn it off. then i was holding the bar so it went sideways and cut me like 16 times. i got a good grip. waked to my house. with one hand a drone trying to fly off and a controller that cant connect. i walk home and hang my gpa my remote and manually pull out the battery. this tutorial didn't show me it properly. pleas make another one so this doesn't happen to anyone. idk what the s2 and s1 switches were up down or in the middle. tell me what to do with the switches and what to do if the light isn't green or anything. PLEAS A MORE DETAILED ONE
My drone flashed red and yellow and it has not flashed green at all
If you have calibration failure or the LED blinks red and yellow lights alternately, please connect to
the Assistant Software, select the “Tools” tab and follow the tips of the “IMU Calibration” to do operation.
your compass rotation is 100% wrong. I did it the way you did and all it wanted to do was nose dive. you need to spin it on it's axis.
Please check here:

Hope this helps, thanks.
Consejo:pongan un sticker con su nombre y telefono por si se sale de control y no regresa,ya perdi uno de esa forma.

but how is that throttle on ur controller down like that mine keeps jumping to the middle unless I put it dowjn and leave by thumb at it
