Man, what an awesome buck and hunt! Can you give us more information on why you chose the spot to hunt that you chose?
I was more or less just hunting the outer fringes of a large block of super thick cover the deer were using for bedding. It bordered water which acted as a barrier the deer would hit and cruise. I just had a few of those type spots picked out where the fallen timber, creeks or dried creek beds further pushed the deer to the water to help with my chances of having one slip through in bow range. I found the area to not be super heavy on deer numbers so I needed all the help putting the deer there were there at least within eyesight. Ended up getting lucky.
