- Today (July 11th) is national Blueberry muffin day! It's a tradition I celebrate every year and make some sort of illustration for it. Why not make a speedpaint out of it too? I hope you enjoy!

I think the cure to making art quickly like this is to not be such a perfectionist about your rendering. I cant count the amount of times i made *another* layer on top of my already-existing mountain of them because i was scared about messing something up and wanted to be able to easily go back. You just putting everything on one layer and going ham, knowing where every messy stroke will eventually go, you unlocked the piece. You're confident about where things are going to go and you aren't so worried about complete perfection and having every detail perfect and, at the end of it all, you ended up with something *so* incredible to look at. Thank you for posting your art online, not only is it gorgeous, but I feel like I learned something!!

This was very insightful! My usual process goes like: sketch-> lineart-> base colour -> shadows -> effects
This makes me feel very lethargic so seeing you get right into the colouring, and the entire process taking only 2 hours, it was very cool, I hope to achieve this efficiency to improve my skills and get motivated >w<

Hello! Honestly this has always just naturally been my style, particularly when I gave up doing lineart. Not doing lineart and simply "painting" over my sketch/combining everything together gives it a very soft and painterly feel (at least I think so
Do you use references?? How are you so good 😭
I don't use refs outside of say, a character design reference so I know how to draw their outfit haha. OTL I should learn to better use pose refs/practice different poses though so I can better my art!

@@loafrr I use a combo of my own brushes plus a few from the DAUB brushes set (you can google search it, it's a payed brush pack). Mine are nothing too special though haha
