I love the iPhone SE. My lifestyle doesn’t require me to have such a big / expensive phone. I will be getting an se soon. It’s more low key, small, cheaper but also capable.
Plus, I’m over having a big phone. Time to go back to the basics.
I miss Touch ID also, the white color is fire.

I agree with Andy Thompson below, Brandon. My understanding is this SE is still a utilitarian phone. Just because it is the "latest" does not mean that Apple meant it to have all the bells and whistles. I cannot understand how it is being dismissed as a "trash phone" when it has been in the hands of the public only 9 days so far.
I bought a 32-GB SE 2016 and it serves me faithfully. It still has 6 GB of space left on it! I bought the 2022 SE because it's an Apple and the price point. The 2022 SE will be a dedicated work phone to make and take calls or texts, check work emails, and join an occasional Teams meeting if I am out of the office or away from my home office.
I do not expect this phone to function as one of the fancy schmancy models which iPhone snobs rush to purchase so they can be the first one on their block to own one. Asking you to compare this SE with a 13 or 14 is like comparing a Honda Civic to a Mercedes Benz or Tesla.
My guess as to why the SE was not redesigned is because folks have the entire rest of the Apple lineup to choose from. I am thrilled that the SE-Gen3 is still an SE, and that Apple was wise enough to see the need and read their market.
Thank you, Brandon, for the helpful tips and easy-to-follow instructions. You rock.

people write off the iphone se because they look at it from a flagship phone perspective. But for us who buy cheaper this is the perfect budget phone (for me at least), it is fast, will get support for the next five years minimum and has a good camera, that's really all I want from a phone. The design is dated but that doesn't make it bad, the iphone 6/7/8 style looked good and still does

I have the SE 2nd Gen and it has e-Sim available on the phone it says but my discount phone carrier doesn’t allow sim transfers to e-Sim unless it’s iPhone 12 or SE 3rd Gen. I need to replace my iPhone 7 as it’s just too old for the common technology being used today. I think I want to get the SE 3rd Gen for my second phone so when the time when I want to put the other phone number on the same phone as this one for connivence, I can. I want to have one phone for non family use and use the other phone number for family and two step verification for financial institutions. That way the number isn’t being used everywhere. I also turn the Sim pin password protection on and set my own password so if somehow someone can steal my digital sim or nano sim it will require the password when it’s reinstalled or phone is powered on, after the phone password is entered. Just another level of security in today’s technology used in identity theft and taking over my financial accounts.

It’s cheaper , iPhone 11 through straight talk is 249 and the iPhone SE 2022 is 149. This phone is a tank . I was surprised with the way the speaker sounds it’s super loud for a small phone and you can hear good bass . Awesome pictures . It runs the same processor as the iPhone 13 Pro Max !!! The iPhone SE 3 has a trick in the book that no apple product currently being sold by apple has, funnily enough almost all reviewers have missed this trick as well. REPAIRABILITY!
All face ID iPhones were made tough to repair by apple to the point where if you don’t use an original apple screen which is programmed to pair with ur logic board by proprietary apple software, you’ll lose faceID during self-done or aftermarket screen replacements. The only way to ensure faceID works on a screen replacement is to pay apple wayy tooo much money for it.
Its the same deal with battery, you put a fake battery in the iPhone to save cost and it shows a message in settings which will ruin your re-sale value for that iPhone in the future even if the aftermarket battery is as good as apple’s own battery.
iPhone SE borrows parts from the iPhone 6 to 8 era, which means if i replace my screen for a fake one, I only lose true tone, touch ID still works because it can be transferred from one display to another. When I replace my battery for a fake one, it doesn’t generate a message that I have a fake battery, my battery health just stays stuck at 100%.
Apple could have made the SE3 tough to repair but creating new displays and batteries with IC chips would require new tooling processes and it would cost them too much money.
My advice to people is to grab an SE3 while it lasts because it is probably the last modern iPhone which is going to be this easy to repair.
