We had the cheapest wedding ever , as we didn’t have any money ! Everyone of my friends had fairly expensive weddings and they are all divorced . We’ve been married for 26 years and we’re still very happy . A marriage isnt about the expense, it’s about the love and respect for one another .

The dresses cost has more to do with the designer signing a legal agreement to never recreate the gown for another bride.
it also has A LOT do to with being hand made and the fabrics.
It doesn't matter , still cost too much and on top of that , not worth the money these women paid .

They were all stunning, but I still love the simple, yet regal elegance of Kate's - also thought the symbolism woven into the lace of her gown was a really cool touch.
We all have different tastes. I liked Princess Catherine's sister's dress better. As a matter of fact I feel her dress is second only to Grace Kelly's from 1956.

That is the cost of sophistication. It is ultimately a lie. I do however agree that a princess should have an awesome wedding dress. It is not only a sign of unparalleled status but a case of national pride. Also the dress is not necessarily the property of the wearer but the property of the kingdom. It is also interesting to note that even the royal jewels are recycled. With monarchs often the mind blowingly expensive gems are reset in a different style to compliment the current monarch's taste. But I agree with many that the most expensive gowns are to promote the work of the designer not actually for the glory of the famous or in the case of the Kardashians infamous personages
But I must say that I hated the wedding dress of Princess Dianna. It hid and did not accentuate her natural beauty. I however thought that the gown of Sarah Ferguson was awesome.
Well they are super rich. Maybe normal people actually spend more money in perpotion of their income.

My shoes were more expensive than my dress. Shoes- $159 Dress $129 Purchased both at Dillard's. Everyone said it was breathtaking. We had the most amazing wedding at a former hunting lodge at Wakulla Springs, Fla. We had the whole lodge for 6 days and had a blast. We had a hospitality suite set up for the whole 6 days, 24 hours per day. Fully stocked with liquor, soft drinks, coffee bar, and all sorts of snacks. The lodge is rather rustic, no tvs in the rooms. We had friends and family come from all over the US, Alaska, and the UK, I could not justify them coming all that way and having to buy cokes from a machine and sit in a room, I wanted new and old friends to have a place to talk and have fun. The suite was a meeting room 30'x20' so we had plenty of room to enjoy our time together. Total cost for our whole wedding including our clothes and honeymoon. A whopping $12,000.
That money could feed an entire country...

Each dress was unique and breath taking. Hard to pick a favorite. But Mrs Jonas dress I really loved. It was so delicate. The prices though don't get me started. Putting real gold in, idk could be done. 🥰😍❤

Yes, the details of embroidery and embellishments are what make the dresses above and beyond. Although I appreciate the silhouettes and the overall looks, it is hard to see awesome details.

I found my wedding dress in small Mexican store. Cost 60 dollars. Shoes 15 dollars, veil I made, and my bouquet about 15 dollars as well. Arrive at my wedding in a beautiful rented white Cadillac. I looked and felt like million bucks. I would never spend as much money on a dress as the ladies in this video did...no matter how rich I was.
How is Kate Middleton’s dress more expensive than that of The People’s Princess, Diana of Wales? Princess Diana’s was far more luxurious, and would certainly put Kate’s to shame in terms of amount of fabric. Diana’s dress’s theme was one of opulence, while Kate’s was much more conservative. Adjusted for about 40 or so years’ worth of artificial inflation, certainly Diana’s dress was more expensive. Are you keeping it off the list just because it was 1980s fashion? It wouldn’t be fair to exclude it over her divorce, since Kim Kardashian is also divorced. If it’s because she is, sadly, no longer with us, that might make sense, but The People’s Princess was a far better person than most of these women!

The Emanuel’s thought being chosen to design and make Diana’s dress was going to be the ticket to propel them into the dress makers for royalty and the stars. The ostentatious 25 foot train was enough to turn anyone off. And the fabric choice was horrendous. They may have well made it out of tissue paper it was so wrinkled when she got out of the car. Diana had wonderful taste in clothes and fashion, it just hadn’t developed at the time of her wedding to jug ears.
Consider how many years apart they got married, and factor in inflation. DUH!

2nd wedding, pulled something out of the closet, had justice of peace at my sister’s house, had a cake and called it a day. Now almost 15 years later married plus over 10 years of dating, this was the best. We were already married in our hearts so this was just for the paper. Best day ever!

I am very glad that people can afford such expensive dresses. I found all but Kate's to be overly done and almost gaudy. I realize that the cost of the gown depends a great deal on who designed/made it. I am just cheap enough to ask why spend that much money on something that will be worn only once?!

It’s not just what they look like. Some were made of silk,diamonds
& pearls & rare delicate laces. considering how many yards of material & lace it took to make some of these creations being only 1 cost factor…
Most people forget to incorporate the many hours of painstaking designing & labor involved to make these very delicate creations, in addition to the fact that they’re custom originals!
My Dad designed & made wedding gowns most of my young life. It’s amazing the talent,labor & passion that goes into each one.
I did like the bodice of the diamond dress & of course Kate Middleton’s was the epitome of elegance. But how it could be £434,000??? None of these dresses look worth that. But I guess most of the time they were paying for the game of the designer 🤷♀️

They showed so many dresses by Yumi Katsura that I wasn't sure which one they were talking about. Even googling to see the specific dress just showed a bunch of different dresses like the ones shown here. Bc it's called the WHITE Gold Dress & said it has pearls, but then mentioned the special embroidery... I'm guessing it was the YELLOW "gold" colored dress with many other colors down the dress. They weren't great at pointing it out here since every shot had a dress in it. Maybe I'm just too tired...? Iunno.
I wore a costum made short dress with elegant high neck jacket. Price 125 $ with shoes included. I would not pay more... we are married for 42 years now
My dress was $300..lol. My entire wedding, with cake and all, was under 3k. The most expensive parts were the dress and the cake. The reception was a potluck. If you want to save money, do the potluck!
My wedding dress cost $34, and it was a beautiful knee length made of the softest lace I've ever seen, and yes, it was brand new lol.

You might want to do some homework before you put these videos out. Kate Middleton’s wedding dress did not cost ‘an eye watering 3 million dollars’! The dress was paid for,by her parents,for £250,000.00. That’s,roughly ,$310,000.00 . A far cry from 3 million 🙄

Just. Wow. Many of the gowns are gorgeous although I have some difficulty understanding why a dress that is $200K is any more beautiful than one that cost $2K - if it is well-made and complements the bride's figure isn't that more important than whether daddy can afford to add $1M worth of crystals (ok, I get that she's the heir to the Swarovski dynasty). Who would have known or cared if they had used 50% fewer crystals? I know $$ will buy higher quality materials to a point (and really, who wants a gown that screams 'do not get near open flame'?), but there are definitely some gowns on this list that demonstrate the adage that some people have more dollars than sense.
Even 2k is too much to spend on a dress.
I spent $2500 for a Vera Wang in 1998. I loved that dress, felt empowered, and had it cut into a cocktail dress that I wore over and over again. Totally worth it.
U know if u took all the money spent on these dresses, we have a lot less world hunger! Theses dresses could have been made for a lot less and looked the same!

I loved My gown, it was a sample gown, I found at Carson Pirie Scott, in Chicago, Illinois, in 1969. It was a high necked, illusion bodice, long lace sleeves which came to a point at the wrists, empire waist, in a soft pale ivory. The front of the gown was covered with crystals, beads and pearls. As was the empire top of the gown. It had a very heavy re-embroidered lace Cathedral train. Covered with crystals, along all of the sections of the train. My A-Line gown was by Priscilla of Boston; ( I wish I could remember who the actual designer was. My Mother and I made my veil ourselves, from ivory silk tulle, it was fingertip length with a blusher, attached to a crystal Tiara. My Shoes were white podeiswa. I don't remember what my gloves looked like, they were silk. MY gown was cleaned and pressed , $15.00, MY gown with its train was only $25.00 My wedding cake was designed by my Mother, but created at DRESSELS' BAKERY in Chicago. In 1970, the cake was $85.00, which was a fortune back then.
My wedding and engagement rings hooked together forming 2 Chevrons, the 1/4 carat solitaire totally flawless Diamond was placed in a Tiffany Setting., the wedding ring was Florentine, The rings were designed by my Fiancé, at Glenn Rowland Jewelers in Rockford, Illinois . He told me later, they were $450.00, which was a lot back then.
I don’t get how so many of you viewers are complaining about how others are spending their money on something like a wedding gown. Most women dream of their wedding day and it’s their prerogative to spend it as they wish. Same would be said to you … if you had millions also how do you know what they give to the poor… smells like sour grapes to me but do you boo! Lol

I agree the dresses didn't look worth the money, and it makes me sick that people spend that kind of money on a dress that will only be worn for a few hours. Cause you know they had other dresses they changed into. When there are children starving in the world. People could have built houses and fed millions with that money. It's disgusting!
