Hey we are soul sisters... I also have dyscalculia! And I teach Special Ed now! Math looks like Japanese to me. I get it! I don't see 5 apples...I see beautiful red shapes all different shades of the spectrum rainbow....I still sing my number's. To teach numbers now to children they are in song because I can remember songs.
+Missy Behexed We are then! I am glad to see you went into helping kids with these sort of issues. I bet you are a great teacher!! I still count with my fingers. :)
I have ADD and I am terrified to go into high school because of math. I suck at math and I don't want to drop out or retake years because I fail math. Do you have any advice?
+my chemical birthday massacre I can understand being scared my dear. First off just breathe, second, do your best to relax. I suggest that you seek out help in high school, go to your teachers and ask for help or someone who you can talk to about your ADD and how it effects not just your math skills but school life as well. You also must talk to your parents about it, if they know you have it, they will help you seek help as well. Don't think because you have ADD that you can't do well or that you will do less then be great/ pass something. You must help be your on advocate.
