I’m super interested in Circe too! I’m actually planning to read The Song of Achilles this month! I also want to read What If It’s Us, A Song Below Water, Felix Ever After, Chain of Gold and Iron, Dominicana, and my Shadow and Bone reread! I’m also reading So You Want To Talk About Race throughout the month.
Circe is AMAZING. Its crazy how circe and the song of achilles are so different and yet both so beautiful. I hope you enjoy. Both are two of my favourite books of all time
Ahhhhhh I loved Circe!!! It has the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to too, so I highly recommend listening to it as you read, if you like doing that!!
I recently finished The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller and it was ABSOLUTE PERFECTION❤ honestly one of the most beautiful stories I've read in my life😍
just devoured people we meet on vacation this weekend and it does not disappoint all the raving reviews! I loved it so much. emily henry has such a nice writing style that's easy to follow. ugh I enjoyed it so much and can't wait to read beach read now.
I read Circe back in March and loved it. I’m loved being able to read the story through Circe’s perspective and it was honestly a beautiful story, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it
people we meet on vacation is soooooo good. I think that personally I prefer beach read but both are so good. The way that emily henry intertwines the past vacations with the current one is done so well.
Beach Read was my favourite book of 2020 and People We Meet On Vacation is my favourite book of 2021! It is SO GOOD!!! It's different than Beach Read but both are equally phenomenal!
Circe is so great!! I loved reading more about Greek mythology and magic I hope you enjoy it :) I’m really interested to hear your thoughts on Normal People, it’s a very love it or hate it book (me being the latter) but I always like to hear other readers perspectives!
Circe was so good! It’s my current favorite standalone novel. Although Circe is a passive protagonist, she does things her own way which that made me love her.
Tashie Bhuiyan and Emily Henry's books are books that I am looking forward to read. Since summer in the Philippines begins around March, my favorite books that I read during that time would be Save The Date by Morgan Matson and Shine by Jessica Jung. ✨🌞
I just finished reading Frankly in Love.. And I want to thank you for reccomending this book.. Cause I love it sooo much.. Thank you.. Your rec videos are awesome.. ❤❤
I read Circe in January and I def recommend the audiobook to along with it. Best female narrator I’ve ever listened to! Circe is very character based and slow paced so I think if you go in knowing that you’ll appreciate the story more.
You are actually really similar to what I imagined Laia, except for your hair, looked like when I was reading the Ember in the Ashes series!! Love youu
I absolutely LOVED Tokyo Ever After. It was sooo good to see a japanese descendant main character falling in love with a japanese guy and also japanese culture ♥️ Counting down with you was so so cute. I think you're going to love it 😍
circe was really good, i had a hard time getting into it at first but in the 2nd half i was fully invested! the song of achilles is one of my alltime faves!!
In June, I plan to read A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas and Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare at least!! Then I want to buy some of the final books to series I have, like Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo, The Shadow Wand by Lauren (?) Forest, Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore etc. You are always alerting me to new books I want though! My tbr keeps growing!!!!
So many exciting books. I (only) "read" circe as an audiobook (in german) I loved it so much though I had to get through the beginning when she was young(er), didn't like (her story in) that part but it got so good in my opinion. I loved her character development and how that made her relationships evolve, found the feminist take on her so fitting that said I didn't knew anything about Circe anyway. Glad I stuck it out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I bought the song of achilles, looking forward to reading it (as a book in English) I hope it's worth the hype :). maybe palace of illusion would be another book to add to my tbr :)
I'm picking up Circe in a day or so and I'm glad to hear from the comments that it's good! I absolutely loved SoA, and can't wait to dive into more of Miller's books. Also, does anyone have more mythology retellings/historical fantasy reccs? I'm having trouble finding some. I mean books like, SoA, Circe, The Queens of Innis Lear, City of Brass, And I Darken, The Guinevere Deception, My Plain Jane, etc.
i just finished reading circe last week omg. it’s a really beautiful story and i love it. although, i didn’t enjoy it as much as i could cause i kept stopping and it just made me disconnected from the story and characters.
Great content, I need some new books in my collection and your channel is doing a fabulous job with recommendations. Also, what crate would you recommend for a beginner subscriber?
I recently hauled Tokyo Ever After so I’m hoping to get to that soon. In the month of June I’m planning to read Reaper at the Gates, Unbroken by C.L. Clark, & Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo.
I thought People We Meet on Vacation was great, but not quite as great as Beach Read. 😊 I’ve only heard negative things about Normal People, so I’m excited to hear what you think since you seem to have heard the opposite!
I have a few of these on my tbr as well. Can't wait to hear your thoughts. June TBR: A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson. The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri. Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender . The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar. Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé . All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson.
I just completely devoured People We Meet on Vacation in one sitting/day. OMG. PWMOV not as steamy as Beach Read. I can't decide if it's better or worse. It was very sentimental and soooo lovely, but there was a timing issue for me at the end of the book that had to do with the back/forth timeline. Can't wait for you to read that and Normal People. You said Chapters/Indigo, are you Canadian? New here! Fellow Canadian here👋
I don’t really plan what I’m going to read each month but I just finished reading I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn and I’m going to read Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness next 😊
I finished Tokyo ever after today and it was really amazing... really....❤️ Now I think I'm gonna go with the book counting down with you... it's plot feels really interesting.. another asian character too ❤️ after tokyo ever after..i couldn't pick one.thank you for the recommendations...🥰🥰

I recently finished People We Meet on Vacation, and personally, I didn't enjoy it as much as Beach Read, but it was still amazing!
If you've seen or read One Day, would you say it's similar to One Day's plot? I read the blurb for People we meet on vacation and it reminded me of One Day.

@@user-qu8zs7vs1x I can definitely see the similarity! The plot is quite different, but the way the story is told is similar
@ I see, thanks! I've been looking for a book with a "people meeting every year and being secretly in love with each other without the other knowing" kind of storyline... It's a pretty niche genre, I know ahaj

@@user-qu8zs7vs1x I think People We Meet on Vacation would fall under that umbrella!
I just finished Circe in May. I dnf circe in 2019 because I just wasn’t in the right headspace for it. But I tried again and I couldn’t put it down. It’s not my absolute favorite book but I do think the writing is amazing. I gave it like 4.2 to 4.5 stars. Madeline’s writing make you feel a lot of emotions I think. I heard the song of achilles is really sad. And circe made me mad for some reason 😅 Different emotion but still haha. And love her take on her backstory, exploring the reasoning behind Circe’s actions and I don’t agree with Circe’s action most times, but I understand why she did what she did.. I haven’t read TSOA. But it’s now in my june tbr. Or July we’ll see..
great video!! i hope to read counting down with you by tashie bhuiyan and people we meet on vacation by emily henry!! hi.!! have a good day and afternoon. i hope all is well.
Just finished Circe and I thought it was good but (this is my own opinion) overhyped. I personally didn’t see the hype over it and I am a huge fan of Greek mythology. This is just a personal opinion but I didn’t think it lived up to what I thought it would be like!
The Tom Holland story inspired Tashie Bhuiyan's second book A Show For Two not Counting Down With You 😊
AH YES that's what it was, I got all my wires crossed!
I absolutely LOVED Counting Down With You, my favorite book of June!!!!

Circe is the novel that got me back into reading last year. It's amazing!
I'm in the last 90 pages of Circe and ohmygod it has blown my mind. I've highlighted so many sentences because the writing is just THAT gorgeous.
Loved Tokyo Ever After ♥️ 👑 and Circe is one of my favorites of all time
Circe is so good. Her books are gonna be one of the classics 50 years from now. I love her writing style.
