I honest feel that this movie had a deeper meaning that what everyone seems to think like in reality the dummy didn't exist and it was just the kids stages throughout him turning fully psychotic etc.. sorta like "HE" was always pin or him and pin shared body's , there's more to this film definitely..
I remember this movie, I saw it on VHS in the eighties. I will never forget it because Leon looked like this really weird guy with a backpack I used to see around town.
This movie is awesome. It's incredible to see that even in this movie, which was Hewlett's first leading role, his way of acting was incredibly convincing. He actually scared me the first time I saw this movie !
This is one of those films from the days of old when simple cinematic effects were more creepy and eerie than the hollywood extravaganza today that completely depletes the effect of any suspense and fright night type of viewing. Tourist trap was the same, very poor special effects but far more hard hitting in the scary department than most of modern horror/ thriller does today.
Damn. I had forgotten about this film. Haven't seen it in at least a decade. An unheralded classic of psychological suspense. Truley creepy without resorting to mindless gore. Now I have to see if there's a DVD. :-)
My mom rented this from Blockbuster for my sister and I when I was 10. My sister and sister I still call each other “ Pin” in that voice to this day! This movie left a footprint. All these years later and Pin is still our daddy. Lol
I’m sorry. I had to get that “Pin” off my chest. Hahaha… Hi Wade. ☺️ Nice to make your acquaintance. The comment section of this movie makes it all the sweeter…. Followed you back. I won’t be a stranger. You got my attention.
First and last time I saw this movie was on TV some eleven years ago. I had no idea until I looked the movie up recently that Locke from Lost played the Father/Doctor. Even more amazing... He was still bald back in the 80's!
omg omg omg omg omg!!!! my two favorite shows are Lost and Stargate Atlantis and this has someone from both shows!!!! That's awesome!!! I love David Hewlett as Rodney, and I like Terry O'Quin!!! They're both great actors!!!
I hate it when trailers show way too much of the movie. Just watch it, peeps. It's pretty good. I went in expecting something totally stupid from the description and being from 1988, but I was pleasantly/disturbingly surprised.
i downloaded this movie few weeks ago and today i finnaly saw it, and to tell u the truth i was expecting less...it was pretty good, considering the late 80'
Heard about this film but don't think I ever saw it. I thought it was gonna be like Dead Silence with a dummy, but I guess not. Is this scary? The name itself sounds cool
Because of board rooms and focus groups became the end all be all of film making. In the 90's and beyond it became about making movies for a broad, and now international, audience. With more focus on effects which are cheaper to do nowadays with CGI vs practical which 99.9% of the time look better. It used to be a art-form when a director made a movie, but now like I said its greedy unimaginative people in suits.
ROFL...that was so funny. Horror flicks intending to be seriously scary, but are so not. I really like seeing David Hewlett this way. What would be very funny is if they showed these vids at a convention he is attending, to an audience.
@rricardo1987 Good thing we have a thing called the internet and a bunch of friendly people who risk it all by putting films like this out there for our leisure. ^^
I loved the old trailers where they narrated the whole damn movie in 90 seconds.
Without those we thought every movie is a comedy. Like that great horror film "spoon...fed" I'm gonna write it if it doesnt exist I totally will.
One of the most underrated horror/thrillers ever. A perfect example of a chilling movie that doesn't need to resort to violence, jump scares or gore.
the ending like emotionally wrecked me for a day or two
You have to see this movie. Just watched it last night. The trailer does NOT do it justice. Very creepy. Loved it!
I honest feel that this movie had a deeper meaning that what everyone seems to think like in reality the dummy didn't exist and it was just the kids stages throughout him turning fully psychotic etc.. sorta like "HE" was always pin or him and pin shared body's , there's more to this film definitely..

Hello, r u still alive?
This is one of those films from the days of old when simple cinematic effects were more creepy and eerie than the hollywood extravaganza today that completely depletes the effect of any suspense and fright night type of viewing.
Tourist trap was the same, very poor special effects but far more hard hitting in the scary department than most of modern horror/ thriller does today.

@compsciguy Thanks but I bought the DVD a long time ago. My comment is eight years old. haha
Its one of the best and most underrated thrillers from the 80's.
Love this movie! Had no idea PIN is voiced by Jonathan Banks (Mike from Breaking Bad)
Hey.....WITCH
I've met Leon twice -love David Hewlett! My friends were telling me about this last night, now I NEED to see it!!!!
Allison Venezio he's so cute in this. Damn!
He's a talented actor - he was great in the Canadian miniseries, "The Boys Of St. Vincent" (1993).
Its a psychological thriller and chiller more than a horror.
Wow, never realised it was the guy from Star Gate Atlantis in it!! Damn he was hot when he was younger, LOL!
he was also in another Canadian classic horror called cube.
My mom rented this from Blockbuster for my sister and I when I was 10. My sister and sister I still call each other “ Pin” in that voice to this day! This movie left a footprint. All these years later and Pin is still our daddy. Lol
@Wade Wilson Well hello Pin🤣😈☺️😘
I’m sorry. I had to get that “Pin” off my chest. Hahaha… Hi Wade. ☺️ Nice to make your acquaintance. The comment section of this movie makes it all the sweeter…. Followed you back. I won’t be a stranger. You got my attention.
This is a classic. They don't make movies like this anymore.
You are gorgeous!! They don't make women like you anymore!!!♥
First and last time I saw this movie was on TV some eleven years ago.
I had no idea until I looked the movie up recently that Locke from Lost played the Father/Doctor.
Even more amazing... He was still bald back in the 80's!
One of the finest films ever created, considering the budget.
omg omg omg omg omg!!!! my two favorite shows are Lost and Stargate Atlantis and this has someone from both shows!!!! That's awesome!!! I love David Hewlett as Rodney, and I like Terry O'Quin!!! They're both great actors!!!
Anyone else notice how much a young David Hewlett looks like Quentin Tarantino, hmmm not at all today though?
I’m in the middle of reading the book and it’s fantastic and super eerie. I can’t wait to check out the film after.
LOVE this movie thanks for the upload
This movie was disturbing. I remember boring my therapist for a weel telling her about it.
Love this! One of my favourites.
My sister and I have been joking about this movie for years. We even named a squirrel after him.
what did you think of it? I got it at a thrift store on vhs for 2 bucks years ago, its one of my favorite thrillers
Its Rodney from Stargate Atlantis!
Creepy horror thriller I saw on video at 7 in 89 with my big brothers.
It’s a cross between Magic, Raising Cane and Tourist Trap
Pin, Pin Terry O’Quinn - you know him from Lost!
I saw this when I was 8. For some reason my mum let me rent it out from the video shop... I'm still scared of mannequins and stuff.
You don't want to know what he looks like! It is too scarry to be shown.
The premise is so weird it's seems like something from the 70s. But it was a great movie!
1988!
Thanks! This is probably one of the most bizarre movies I've seen. Only The Baby is weirder.
John Herne it is SO weird lol
The trailer is not great, but the movie itself is fantastic. 4/5 Stars.
TSM8088 yeah the trailer makes it look like a piece of crap, when it's actually a brilliant, hypnotizing film.
TSM8088 are you fking high?
It was an awful film, really bad
I hate it when trailers show way too much of the movie.
Just watch it, peeps. It's pretty good. I went in expecting something totally stupid from the description and being from 1988, but I was pleasantly/disturbingly surprised.
McKay is in this? Never knew this until his sister's interview with Dial the Gate.
Can't believe I've never heard about this one.
This trailer makes it look like a slasher film. It isn't. Crazy movie. But way good.
I have it on DVD. You should be able to find it in bargain pins or something, like I did.
is this movie about Pin?
Can someone please tell me what "PIN" is?
Wikipedia that shit!

This looks quite distrubing...Got to watch this!
This movie seems like it could've played out for a prequel to "Psycho" and "Child's Play" combined. :)
Yep and the ending was insane :D
Such a good movie 🎥 really good
i downloaded this movie few weeks ago and today i finnaly saw it, and to tell u the truth i was expecting less...it was pretty good, considering the late 80'
Heard about this film but don't think I ever saw it. I thought it was gonna be like Dead Silence with a dummy, but I guess not. Is this scary? The name itself sounds cool
Pretty intense movie =)
That's how I found MY copy. Bargain bin in Zellers. LOL
if you search under - pin a plastic nightmare-you can watch it on here
In my oPINion this movie is SEW good don't get the NEEDLE I am just stating facts. Watched it with my mum in 1989 great stuff.
Why are most 80's films creepier and more "Nightmare Fuel"-inducing (Tv Tropes again. Bleh. :( ) than ANYTHING from the 90s or the 2000s?
Because of board rooms and focus groups became the end all be all of film making. In the 90's and beyond it became about making movies for a broad, and now international, audience. this is a sad movie about schizophrenia and how it begins at a young age
@BEGDAEC It's on Netflix instant stream now
Great movie, albeit a bit campy.
I watched this movie in 2022
Yes, Pin did the nasty with the nurse.
@icebergslick
Hahahaha... That scene was hilarious! But I guess that explains why PIN was such a messed up anatominical dummy.
This is a great B movie.
@ash3227 @GNIKDER I swear, that wasn't on purpose. But probably the best fitting typo ever :)
I'm trying to find this film
I looked it up and apparantly you need to register , all i want is to watch the movie and have no strings attached

ROFL...that was so funny. Horror flicks intending to be seriously scary, but are so not.
I really like seeing David Hewlett this way.
What would be very funny is if they showed these vids at a convention he is attending, to an audience.
THIS MOVIE ON VHS WAS CALLED "RICH KIDS"
This guy was the 80's, Canadian answer to Robert Pattison.
@BEGDAEC

@rricardo1987 Good thing we have a thing called the internet and a bunch of friendly people who risk it all by putting films like this out there for our leisure. ^^
Your local store's bargain bin, haha.
