Actually the use of the term master of ceremony is medieval It dates back to the 16th century when the Pope had an official servant called the Master of Ceremonies. This guy was charged with making sure all the proper procedures were played out. The Grand Master of Ceremonies oversaw state ceremonies and court etiquette and private functions; celebrating or commemorating births, baptisms, marriages, and funerals for members of the royal family, royal feasts, ambassadorial receptions, the coronation, royal entries into towns, meetings of the States General and important assemblies. I believe when emcee influencers like Tim drop this out-of-date term, the sooner the MC industry will flourish, improve, grow and be respected more.😃
Tim, with all respect, why are you still using the old-fashioned Master of Ceremony term ? If it’s for SEO reasons, then #masterofceremony will get you better results. I think you’ll agree that the times have changed; and modern MCs never do ceremonies anyway The title itself is gender specific and not used by ladies
Pete Do you think we should drop MC and Emcee as well? We all know what they are short for. "Modern MC's never do ceremonies anyway." Hmmm... you may not but I do a few every year and so do many MC's I know. Events with Protocols, VIP's and Formalities that must be followed. In fact I'm flying to Melbourne to do one soon . Not quite certain about the term being totally gender specific , but I get your point. (Master Chef anyone?)
As always, great content, Timothy! I’m going to focus on modulating my gushing at future events. Thank you!
You can do it! Thanks for taking the time to comment and ongoing support of the channel!
Thank you Timothy. Appreciate this site.

Always a pleasure Timothy

Ive gotta agree with @pete-miller here. Ditch the lame name 'Master of Ceremony' term ASAP - it makes us look so dated and out of touch.
