Today, I am going to moderate a discussion "Humanitarian Plus" on Facebook Live, and thanks for sharing your suggestions and inputs. I will follow some of them.
You're great sir! Thank you for the wonderful information. I must Emcee an event for my church. You're teaching will help me help what this church has in mind to do for the culture.
"The audience is an even higher priority." You are absolutely right! It is great to be able to help others through our UA-cam channels. However, it truly is about the needs of our audience than it is our own. If the speaker does not have the audience in mind. It will be hard to reach anyone or have anyone want to show up.
Thank you for this amazingly helpful video Riaz! I am co-hosting an online conference this weekend and I am furiously writing down all of these awesome tips and ideas. I'm bookmarking this video and coming back to it again and again. You're the best!!!
Humanize the 'Speaker' is such an essential element you've shared, thank you. I'm crafting your introduction Riaz, as a case study for my academic submission. Will share a copy of it with you. Please :) share your comments ...will be an honor to introduce you in a near-future.
1. Efficiently establish credibility (why should the audience be listening to this speaker?) 2. Humanise the speaker (talk about their story that links to the talk instead of reading off the 'facts') 3. Keep your intro 30-40 secs 4. Say the speaker name at the end (xxx..xxx.. please welcome Mr/Mrs Speaker Name)
Excellent video with such helpful points all delivered with a perfect model of how this, very important aspect of public speaking, is to be done. Thank you.
Thank you for these great tips, I have been watching many videos to prepare for my first keynote speech for a conference of Secondary School Students with a theme of "Smile". I, as an Ambassador and Advocate for Dystonia Patients across the country, feel it is the perfect theme to allow me to put together, hopefully, some great content for my speech.
Thank you for sharing these tips. I will definitely be applying these concepts I have an IG live session coming up and this helps a lot thanks for sharing
So helpful. I’ve started a weekly show on my channel called ‘The Limitless Show’ where my guest and I talk about a limitation they’ve had in their life and how they’ve overcome it. I have to introduce these guests and my introductions can definitely be way better if I implement these suggestions!
This is an EXCELLENT video. Thank you SO MUCH Riaz. I have a question -- with a virtual event, saying, "Please welcome FIRST LAST" might fall a little flat because there is no applause. Would you do it a little differently in that situation? ❤🙏
Xane, This is a terrific question. You have a strong point here. For the virtual setting, this introduction line at the end could fall flat. Two points for consideration here: 1. In a virtual setting, if I’m emceeing, my intention is to make it a fun and engaging experience for the audience. Before introducing any speakers, I invite the audience to participate as much as possible including with virtual applause eg. jazz hands to have some fun and bring energy into the space. This has worked well the many times I’ve done this. That way when we use the final line - “Please Welcome Xane Daniel”, we may not hear the traditional applause, but we see it and so does the speaker and that helps them hit the ground running. 2. Now if the group is more conservative and wouldn’t play with the idea of a virtual applause or jazz hands concept, I’d tweak the last line to “Here to speak about unconditional love and how to overcome depression by yourself, we’re lucky to have Xane Daniel. Welcome Xane.” Then have you as the speaker pick up the cue seamlessly and away you go. Either way, I’d still encourage the first and last name in your final line(s) of the intro. Reading the room and discovering what your audience is up for is a key element to this for any host, emcee or person introducing a speaker.
@@RiazMeghji OK. Yeah, the "Welcome, Xane" is a good way to go! Because with the online expo, it will just be broadcast to hundreds of people on FB and YT, so there wouldn't even be a way to "jazz hands" -- the audience isn't on camera. Thanks for this insight!!
Great vid! Love the tip about finding the emotional connection to the speaker. My upcoming video will be an interview with the organiser of the Healthy Eating + Healthy Living Summit I'll be speaking at, and I've been thinking of how to introduce her to my audience. I'm going to adapt some of your tips in my intro - especially this one about finding the emotional element, thank you!
I am trying to do my ending for my Introducing A speaker for a class, and it can't be cliche, I am introducing someone inspiring to me, Amelia Earheart, could you give me some examples of how I should end it without it being cliche please?
One of the best tips I listened Helo sir , any suggestion how can I introduce our guest speaker this coming week webinar, with the topic of "Mental awareness of online student during this time of Pandemic" Our guest speaker credibility PhD in psychology, cumlaude during his time,a guidance counselor in a school and pastor he even undergo seminar abroad specifically in seminary . Audience will be medical student.Thank you for your help.
I struggle with summarising and thanking the speaker/ organisation that hosted our learners for an immersion. Often, when I do this it doesn’t sound natural, it sounds clinical and rehearsed and too formal. How can I make this seem more natural?
Oh man, I've sat through so many terrible guest speaker introductions. One notable one was "Okay next we have John Smith, please come to the stage" .... 😂😂
