- Sam and I headed over to the Russian River/Kenai River in Alaska to catch some sockeye salmon! Sam ended up catching a few to grill up and eat on a remote island! 10/10 recommend salmon catch and cooks! Hope you guys are enjoying the alaskan videos! If you are let us know in the comments. Alaskan here and been been fishing the Russian river for the last 20 years and the trails has DEFINITELY changed my guys. Besides the trails, do be sure to look out for the casual grizzlies on the trails and be safe and for sure enjoy the fishing!
This is my number one favorite thing to do in this world . I LOVE salmon fishing ! I haven’t missed the salmon run in prob the last 16 years . It’s such a good time and so much fun . FISH ON !!

MinnDak Outdoors best thing to do is if you camp out at the campground ether at the ferry or the Russian campground have a fire and cook it right away no seasoning just the smoke from the fire. Your catch and cook was spot on except just cook without the foil and seasoning
I like to toss the carcass on the fire and pick the meat off the bones
Salmon already taste good even without anything 🤤

You should have gone down river towards the confluence, fishing in the kenai is always better then up the Russian. With a good pair of polarized glasses you can see the schools move up river and get a fly in there mouth.

I love salmon but i think trout is better because their is less fat in it even you can catch loads of trout in ZEALAND but the salmon looks great to eat!maybe turn itto a cook sushi salmon roll that would be yummy but you in the wild life so its best to eat and cook but not like sushi cuz u need vin rice seaweed and more!!

Why do a lot of the fishermen look like they are wearing cotton blended hoodies? Going to be up there in 2 weeks and I am looking for something to wear under a fishing bib and everybody in Alaska looks like they're wearing a cotton blended hoodie I thought this would be bad cause of the whole "cotton kills" thing.

You’re in Cooper Landing. I’m from Soldotna and now living in Indiana. Fishing on the Kenai Peninsula has been awful for the last 10+ years. Too much tourist and local fishing. Just plain out fished too much.

@@melanindee4267 it’s the most delicious when eaten raw. Wild alaskan salmon is very expensive and known to be the first grade sashimi bcz of its dense muscle and low in fat. Therefore it’s not as fishy as other salmon

Awe Mann🤦🏽♂️ the best way to eat salmon. SPECIALLY over an open fire is spit roasted whole. From head to tail. Waste nothing. And the cheek and top of head meat is good. Same with belly meat
