    You are missing a spring on the airbag.
    Thank you for taking the time to film this job.

      Daniel Gyorgy thank you - luckily I noticed that before reinstalling! At least I’m pretty sure I did....

    That comment "come on, seriously", literally everyone's reaction when working on cars and encountering to many screws/wires. I had exactly the same reaction when removing my radio. Keep up the good work!

    Also, by the klima Control on my Car on the middle Console, there are no Lights. If it is the Fuse could you tell me where it is to check. If not, how to check the Bulb or LED.
    Big thanks in Advance......

      The sensors for the airbags are not in the dash. That's probably why

    Hi and Respekt. Great Video explained well.
    I have a question about the Blower/Heater for the Windscreen,
    Lots of Air comes out in every Direction (Footwell & To Me) but to the Windscreen (When the Screen ist Misty/Foggy) it comes out really slow and takes in this time of Year 10 to 15 Minutes before you can see through it. Can you give me a Tipp on how to rectify this.....?
    Sorry for my English

      Mike Moss hmmm, have you tried cleaning/replacing your air filter? Otherwise I’m thinking it may be the foam that has failed that helps maintain good airflow.

    Hello...had a few quick dash console light questions...(1) Should my fog lights button light up like all the other buttons and knobs? When I press it I see it's symbol in the cluster, but the button itself is not lit up. Maybe a burnt bulb? (2) Same question about the W button next to the gear shift. I press it and I see the arrow in the cluster, but the button itself never illuminates. (3) Should the ring around the cigarette lighter light up as well? Is it a plug contraption like the thing that holds the bulb under the shifter gears? Thank you in advance!

    • @antonism9479
      @antonism9479 3 роки тому +1

      Yes yes and yes. All the things you described should illuminate. For the lights switch you have three T4 bulbs that have a blue rubber "condom" on them that makes the bulbs give that light green color. If you buy the original bulbs from volvo prepare to be surprised by the price. Good thing is you can find the same bulbs on AliExpress for a lot less.
      I had to transfer the "condoms" from the old ones to the new bulbs, looks exactly the same for a fraction of the price. You could also put some t4 LEDs and they work great but it won't look like factory. It's a really easy job to do by yourself.
      For the lighter it's more complicated and you have to be careful not to snap some plastics, if you search on volvo forums all these topics are well covered with photos etc.
      P.S. If you have an ashtray between the seats it should also be illuminated :D

      @@antonism9479 Thanks for the in depth reply. I've actually successfully fixed my gear shifter light and the burnt out AC/heat knob lights. My next task is the cigarette lighter ring light, then the headlight knob icons light. It's all easier than I realized which is cool. Those Volvo lights are priced steep though!

      @@paull.6026 Yeah, they're too expensive for what they are. Go for the light panel first as you need to unscrew only two screws and pull the panel with the vent. I can't post the link but if you search "5pcs T4 12V Car Auto Interior Instrument Light Bulbs Dashboard Lamps Air Conditioning Button Indicator Light for Mazda Nissan" on Ali express you should find them. Good luck and when you change the cigarette lighter light tell me how it was (if you remember this comment hehe)

    • @Bigtime_mcalpine
      @Bigtime_mcalpine  3 роки тому +1

      I think you can get it done in 7hrs...but you probably don’t have time to waste on replacing any foam, etc. Just be sure you don’t waste time on removing steering wheel. Good luck!

      Thanks a lot !! i also watched part 2 of this video and as you said the "drain hole " that is where the leak is coming from . So im not sure if i have to remove the whole dashboard or just put new foam or ductape it 😂🙄.

      @Bigtime_mcalpine  3 роки тому +1

      @@moljoint8761 hmmm, well if you are referring to the evaporator drain hole there should be a tube connected to it that sends water out through firewall and down to ground.

      @@Bigtime_mcalpine yes sir that is the problem , i had the whole passenger side wet all of a sudden and i notice that it happend when i turn the heat on to 28 °c Also my temp gauge was getting higher than usual . Do you think its the evaporator need to change or just fix the connection to the wall , air filter was also dry .

      There are products you can buy that you spray down in there. I have no experience with these but might be worth a shot. You do get good access with all of this stuff off but man, that’s a lot of work just for a duct cleaning...

    • @todorn
      @todorn 4 роки тому

      @@Bigtime_mcalpine Thanks. I tried spays - there is some effect but actually they don't clean - they just poison bacteria and aromatize. The dust remains inside and over time gets moisture and smell. So I want to clean the ducts inside with a cloth with spirits.

    • @todorn
      @todorn 4 роки тому

      @@Bigtime_mcalpine At least by dismounting the front panel is it possible to access the ducts from inside in a way to clean them by a cloth on some flexible stick? In the video I could not see where they are. (I guess they are fixed to the panel).
