Joan Hickson is loved by millions all over the world. I never get tired of watching her as the delightful amazing Miss Marple.. Joan you immortalised the role. RIP dear dear Joan.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
In my opinion hickson is and will always be the greatest Marple ever ie apart from Rutherford and maybe mcewean all others are also rans it's like comparing Nora batty with farrah fawcett it's a different planet
(Don't read this if you haven't already heard the story, because I don't want to give anything away.) If my fellow listeners are perplexed by the solution to the mystery, as I initially was, they should look up the phrase "all my eye and Betty Martin".
Amazing and very versatile actress, the consummate Miss Marple - Ms Hickson is sadly missed. RIP wonderful lady.
Yes yes🎉🎉she is the ONE and ONLY Miss Marple. Loved the tv series with her.
Joan Hixon is the one and only Miss Marple. I haven’t heard this before, thank you so much.
You may be too young to know Margaret Rutherford.
Worth finding a couple of her old black and white films.
I totally agree! She was the one and only🤭❣️ her looks and expressions and demeanour no one else would do🤭☺️
Hickson ❤
This is not Joan Hickson

I do love Joan Hixon’s voice!♥️
The best Miss Marple
Thank you for listening
She is undoubtedly the best Miss Marple, exactly as Agatha Christie described, bird-like & a bit dithery on the surface but razor sharp.
I close my eyes and feel I’m in a wonderful meditative state listening to Miss Hixon narration is fascinating thank you needed this today ❤

It has occurred to me that the old interjection "My eye!" may be a contraction of "all my eye and Betty Martin".
Thank you for listening

Hickson!!
Joan Hixon my very favorite.
Exactly ❤
Was she ever a Brit voice...🥰
It was a good idea to buy gold and bury it.
First time I’m hearing this story.
I wanted to listen to this story being read by Joan Hickson. However, at times I found her difficult to understand. 😔
But, she was speaking plain English!
@@keithfrost1190 At times too speedily & with exaggerated ellipsis.😔
It is too slurry for me on my phone.
It's a classic middle class accent of the era...
Is this one of the 12 short stories published in 2022?
No, just bought the book and this story isn't included
Her voice drove me nuts im out of here boring
I can hardly understand the reader 😕
