- I'm excited to finally share what I've been working on inside the Studio Shed I purchased from Costco several months ago. I've been busy turning it into an production studio for editing UA-cam videos, Live Streaming and Podcasting. I'm really happy with how it turned out and can't wait for you to see it.
If you've ever wondered how to build a backyard studio this can definitely help you get started. From the basics like speaker and TV mounts to sound dampening. You'll want to get some of the essentials right if you're going to get up and running.
I've included links below for the equipment I'm using in the studio. Most of it was pretty affordable and makes it easy for anyone to do this to a room in their house.

The total package!! So clean, so good. Completely jealous about how clean and simple it is.
I think the REAL trick is to unplug everything...film it...THEN plug it all back in. Movie magic!! 😂 Truthfully though I've managed most of the cables so you'll never see them. In helps my mental health SO much.

Ok I’m getting a pair of those sound panels and then I’m going to make my own and scream into both sets and see which one deadens sound more. For science!

I really like it, I’m sure it was pricey to have something like this, but when you put the money on the things that you enjoy the most, it’s worth it.
It definitely wasn't cheap. But far less expensive than adding a room to the house and it really is an amazing space for producing content. I'm really enjoying it. Like you said. Put your money to the things you enjoy the most. I absolutely agree with that.

Thanks Chris! I'm digging it. Will be making small tweaks here and there as I get more comfortable in the space. But it was super fun actually building my OWN studio for once.

If it's any consolation everything I've read says the wood will darken in color over time. So we'll revisit it in 3 years and maybe it'll be up to your specs. 😂

Thanks and I totally agree! I ended up putting a lot of 2 inch sound dampening panel around where I do voiceovers and live streams. Most times they're off camera but provide the added dampening I needed in there.
That's a lot of work to have a place to do more work lol. Well done!

Your room is still sounding a bit live no? How do you feel the foam and sound panels are working?
Yes. You're absolutely right on that. So it's still got some room to improve. I'm waiting on the window treatments to be installed and possibly a carpet inside before I put more panels up. There's also another set of the 1x1 panels I have yet to install because Amazon kept shipping me the wrong ones and they did not arrive in time to finish this video. But I'd say that at least 75% of the room noise has been reduced in terms of cutting down on reverb. I'll reassess once the window treatments are in and fine tune from there. On a recent live stream the Rodecaster Pro's mic processing all but eliminated the room noise. That's one sexy piece of hardware right there!
@@CaliradoKid Excellent. Please keep us updated after the window treatments, carpet and additional sound panels have been installed. I'm thinking of getting one of these myself for music production and my UA-cam channel. Maybe a larger unit may help a bit as well to give the sound a little further to go before it reflects off the nearest walls. That's the other thing, your mic is pretty close to the back wall. So wherever you're going to be using the mic the most, you should treat the wall behind the mic. That should really help since that's the nearest hard surface the sound is reflecting off of. ✌🏼❤️
Definitely. The original plan of the build was to have the table in the center of the room so that I’d face the TV and sound panels. But I pulled an audible last minute once I found how much more room I’d have in the space if I put the desks along the wall. So will definitely have to get something on wall closest to me now.
If my videos looked as good as that shack, I'd probably take longer to put out a video.
