I really did not start collecting and buying tools until I was in my mid 30's. I really picked it up after I hit 40 years old and now at 45 I finally have a decent tool collection. Nothing expensive, no tool truck brands because I do not do this work for a profession, just on the weekends and mostly my own cars, kids, family and friends. I bought the US General 5 drawer tool cart to go along with a Husky tool box my dad bought me a few years back. It is coming a long nice, but nothing like yours, but it suits me well for what I need them for. I mostly have TEKTON, Capri, Olsa, ICON, Sunnex and some Gearwrench. I always had the mind-set that if it is a tool that I will be using at least 1-2x a week, then I buy a better brand. If it is something I might need a couple times a month, I buy a mid-tier brand, and if it is something that I might use a couple times a year, I will buy a cheaper brand. Thanks for sharing your tool box and showing some real cool things that I now want to go look for and buy. 😆
You remind me of my youth. Working to make a living, supporting a growing family, needing quality tools, and operating on a limited budget. It took me decades to collect my tool hoarde, now approaching 40 chests and cabinets. I am still adding regularly in many years of retirement, but also supporting the tool inventory of my 27 male offspring. Snap-on has long been my favorite mechanic brand, but I also purchase premium brands for the other trades that I enjoy. I never worked where I had a tool truck service. I economized by purchasing most of my tools and machinery used. I still purchase that way. I think that most of the Matco line is inferior to Snap-On, but in retirement, I purchase a lot of Matco NOS from surplus trade school tool sources. Some of it is pretty good.
Paul, you are the man! Very similar story as yours. Just like the scene in Clint Eastwood’s movie Grand Torino, his impressionable neighbor is amazed by his garage full of tools. Eastwood response was “ this has taken a lifetime “ Buy the best quality tool you could afford and pay as you go, … and yes, it’s a lifetime endeavor
Hello Bachman Garage I just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for informing me about how well the Toolbox Widgets (TBW) socket organizers work you. I have a set on order as well. I previously bought the TBW for my wrenches and screwdrivers. And yes they work great. Very easy to setup and use. In my box I have a set Harbor Freight Angle Head Wrenches, I think I paid about $17.00 for the set this was at least 10 years ago. Thank you.
That entire lid is empty and can really be utilized as tool storage brotha. I promise you, that box can definitely hold more lol. Great tool box tour though!
Keep my extensions , ratchets , picks , vessel impacta jis impacting screwdrivers , drive adapters , inspection mirrors , and several odds and ends on my lid. Fit way more sockets in my cart than dude has too. Take those wrench trays put and put rails or tb widget , or Ernst rails in ,there is still a lot of room in that cart.
I had forgotten about Wilde tools. So I looked them up and realised I own a set or two of their punches. I bought them back when I was a fleet mechanic.
I have those wilde pliers and the tip broke and they don’t have lifetime warranty. I ended up buying the snap on version so I can warranty them easier. Sometimes it is better to buy the tool with a better warranty process
@Tcorellis-j6d kind of a bad day right? Most sets dont include it and skip to 1-1/4. Me personally, I search for and buy every 30mm I can find. Wrenches, sockets, short, long. Snap On doesnt make an offset slugger, but does have 2 differant 1/2"drive torque adapters that come in handy. You can get a handful of 3/4" drive from Cat, John Deere and Detriot Diesel and Kent Moore GM, but they about $300-700 each. There are hundreds of this size on haul trucks and big dozers and never can get a straight shot at them. I see piles of Harbor frieght wrenches taco on first nut with 100s more to go. Snap on does have a wobble 1/2"drive in 1-3/16 that helps too. That german tool companies do have better selection from what ive seen. Rant over. Good luck Sir
I like your tool set. I have 7 top & bottom boxes, after 30+ years of working on Porsche. Keep wrenching, keep the wheels spinning! 😊 What test equipment do you favor?
Thank you for your support! We use Snap-On Diagnostic tools as well as Identifix.com for our procedures. I really love our Snap-On scan tool, and thankfully my boss bought it for the shop and I didn’t have to smash my piggy bank for it.
Great video brotha!💪🏻 I'm with ya on that, it's beyond more packed then it should ever be! Bout time you get yourself another box ir 2! Then you don't have to stack or dig for things! That was always my biggest pet peve! More boxes! More space, 😅 More tools!😂🤘🏻 keep on wrenchin, merry Christmas and Godbless you too!
Thank You! I’m glad someone else feels the same way about tool storage. Time spent digging for a tool is time lost. I’m in the process of moving over to a 54” Snap-On, now I don’t have to dig anymore!
@bachmannsgarage7637 owww!👀👀 we want to see haha!. I hope you got yourself a Master series -XL they are the best bang for the buck, and biggest tool storage option line snapon offers before an Epic Series box! I have a storm grey 54in masters and it's been packed full since atleast 2020😅🤦🏼♂️🤣 deffinatly subbed man! Hope yall have a Merry Christmas
Never feel " guilty " for not buying from any dealer , especially if he doesn't show up religiously. Stop buying butane from the tool truck brother ! Only reward dealers who show up ,and are actually good to you.
Those stickers really degrade the tool box, probably bought it down to $200-$300 max. Let me know if you’re trying to get rid of this, I’ll give you $150 cash for it, maybe $175 max. Again, those stickers really degraded the tool box.
It's nice to see a tool box tour video thats actually in a working shop by someone who actually uses them.
Pliers around longer than girlfriends.
Me too bro. 💯 😂😂

27 male offspring ❓
@unwired1281 That is correct. 5 sons, 3 son-in-law, 19 grandsons...

Ethan was about to get an earful lol. Excellent set up, sir.
Nice setup. At least you spent extra on a new service cart and not a new giant box. Buying used is the way to go for boxes.

That's where I keep my extensions on rails. Right above the sockets

Hey man, thanks for the head up on those Wilde pliers similar to the SO version! I dont use them enough to justify the SO version in my home box.
No problem, Happy to help! Thank you for watching.

Throw an oring on the universal to limit it, do the same with your flex head wrenches if needed.
Are you in Jefferson City? I recognize some of those stickers lol.
Know of a couple guys that buy off brand tool sets and replace the most used or wore out with Snap-On or equivalent.
That makes a whole lot of sense. No sense in paying for a Snap-On 9MM socket you use every-other presidency.
“Hey Tanner, this is Dave at Dave’s auto and I got some bad news. You idled too long.”
1-3/16" aka 30mm is must have for most heavy equipment
Yeah learned a year ago 2018+ freightliner cascadia front shocks are 30mm
Old freightliners were 1-1/8

For those pliers w/ the electric tape on’em, take off the tape and use heat shrinks instead🤔
Hey boss, buy the Milwaukee m12 5.0 HO battery for the impact. Better than the 6.0
So where is your garage and how much for the Tahoe. Love the color
